Chapter 75 Aid Arrives

As night fell, the sound of countless wings flapping appeared around the two. Before the policewoman could realize what was happening, all sorts of demons began to crawl out of Constantine's sight!

They moved rapidly toward the two, their speed increasing, and as these figures drew ever closer, even the statue of the Virgin Mary behind them grew increasingly dim.

Having not seen Li Buying appear and waiting for help, the exorcist flicked his sleeve and took out a sacred cloth containing the remains of a certain saint that he had treasured for many years, spreading it out and wrapping it around his hand.

Constantine took out his lighter, muttered some incantations, and lit the shroud of the dead, raising it high!

An extremely dazzling positive energy spread outwards, and all the demons illuminated by the light covered their eyes and let out painful roars.

Those that are far away can be eliminated after a while, while those that are close will be turned into ashes!

Shaking off the remnants of the Shroud of Horus, Constantine realized that the sorcerer who claimed to be a weaver and wore a spider mask was probably telling the truth; he hadn't seen so many demons gathered together many times before.

The exorcist lit a cigarette and took a puff to relieve his tension. Just as he turned around to speak to the policewoman, the officer in front of him screamed as he looked behind him.

Constantine, realizing what was happening, immediately grabbed her and rolled away. A giant hand instantly smashed the now-glowing statue of the Virgin Mary, and the surrounding objects began to melt as if exposed to intense heat.

Constantine, who had narrowly escaped death, looked up and saw a powerful demon, about three or four meters tall and radiating a crimson glow, turn back to look at him and let out a sinister laugh.

"run!"

As Constantine rose from the ground, he ran backward, and the giant demon withdrew the arm that had smashed the shop window, charging towards the two of them at an even faster speed.

Just as the two were about to be caught, a figure suddenly appeared behind the giant demon, climbed onto its back, aimed at its head, and raised a fist.

Li Buying began to exert all his strength, veins bulging, and slammed into the monster in front of him.

Snapped--!

A loud bang came from behind. Constantine took a small mirror out of his pocket and looked behind him. He pulled the policewoman to a stop, and the two turned around. Li Buying was standing in a pool of blood, lightly swinging her arm.

"Sorry, I'm entangled with a group of demons."

The bloodstains from the demons on the ground began to disappear; they were not truly dead, but merely being sent back to hell.

Did he simply use brute force to defeat the demon? Is he really a magician?

Constantine took a deep drag on the cigarette that hadn't fallen even in the most dangerous moment, spat out the butt, and crushed it:

"Fuck, okay, now we can be sure you're telling the truth. So when will our reinforcements arrive?"

From the moment a large number of demons appeared, Constantine believed the weaver's words completely, which was absolutely the most dangerous thing.

"I'm not sure, it would probably take quite a while to fly to Los Angeles."

Shaking her head, Li Buying stepped through the ashes to stand before Constantine and looked at the policewoman: "Hello, my name is Weaver. Just treat me like a superhero."

The pale-faced policewoman swallowed hard. Upon learning that Li Buying was a superhero, her fear of him lessened considerably: "Hello, I'm Angela Dodgson."

"Is she the key figure in this whole affair?"

Li Buying turned around to ask, but the old smoker in front of her started smoking again: "Phew—I don't know, I have to call my helper over."

Those people who were taken care of in the movie?

Remembering the people who died tragically in the movie, Li Buying waved for him not to make the call yet: "The prophet said it's better to wait for help than to call them. Those people should be here soon... oh, they've already arrived."

Upon hearing his words, Constantine felt a strong gust of wind blow over his head. Looking up, he saw a high-tech aircraft, from which four people quickly landed. Upon seeing the newcomers, the policewoman covered her mouth in surprise.

She had seen these people on TV; they were all superheroes.

Doctor Fate and Black Adam frowned and looked around. Li Buying stepped forward and reached out her hand to Doctor Fate:

"I am a weaver, and I was also summoned by the prophet. One of these two is Constantine, and the other is probably the key to the devil's intrusion into the human world."

After introducing themselves, Doctor Fate shook hands with Li Buying and suggested, "Why don't we find a place to sit down and sort things out?"

"Then let's go to my house."

Constantine, being an exorcist, naturally recognized the veteran sorcerer Doctor Fate, and was much more respectful at this moment. The group behind him also exuded an aura that was not to be trifled with.

……

The seven of them entered Constantine's cramped rented room together, and as soon as they sat down, the exorcist and the veteran sorcerer began to discuss the matter.

It was finally determined that policewoman Angela Dawson and her deceased sister possessed the ability to communicate with Hell. After repeated questioning, she finally revealed her secret—

When they were young, both of them had the ability to see demons, just like Constantine, but as they grew up, this ability gradually diminished and eventually went completely dormant.

After listening, the Doctor of Fate tapped on the table, gradually understanding the ritual for summoning the demon child:

"The younger sister is in hell, and the older sister is on earth. They share a common blood relationship and psychic abilities, which in itself is equivalent to a conduit."

The Demon Child could easily connect to this portal through Hell's sister, allowing his avatar to squeeze into the mortal realm. However, to unleash his full power, he must use the Spear of Destiny to open the gate.

In that case, the simplest way would be to kill Angela, the older sister, and then stop the Demon Child from emerging, right?

Everyone present had thought of this simple method, but no one spoke it aloud. Angela's pupils constricted slightly as she was about to speak when Constantine tapped his chair, his expression rather cold and serious:

"Miss Dawson, if things really get to the point where there's no way to stop it, I will take action to get you out of this mess, even if it means being treated as a murderer. But please remember, do not commit suicide."

When the topic of suicide came up, Constantine took a deep drag of the cigarette smoke from his mouth, seemingly with some melancholy.

"……good."

Doctor Fate could sense the hidden meaning, and raised his hand to silence Hawkgirl, who was somewhat angry at Constantine's cold-bloodedness, and directly changed the subject:

"Now it's clear what we need to do: find a way to retrieve the Spear of Destiny and ensure that Miss Dawson is not captured by the demon."

"The task of finding the Spear of Destiny will be entrusted to Mr. Constantine and me. The four of you can divide the tasks of protecting us and protecting Miss Dawson."

Hawkgirl, Hawkman, and Black Adam exchanged glances, but Li Buying didn't join in. She suddenly stood up and looked out the window: "We're in trouble. A large group of demons is approaching."

Before anyone could react, Doctor Fate sensed a hellish magical aura approaching.

This is a busy downtown area; we absolutely cannot fight here!

"Everyone will travel together by plane."

Doctor Fate decisively shouted, as he was the oldest and most experienced among them, and immediately became the leader of the temporary team.
