Chapter 74 Lux Bar

"That guy," Constantine said, tossing away his cigarette butt and stomping it out. He didn't name the guy who wanted him dead the most. "But the problem is, how did the Spear of Destiny come out? Wasn't it thrown away a long time ago?"

"The prophet said he didn't see it, and it all seems to be related to someone above."

Li Buying raised her hand and pointed to the sky. Constantine's expression darkened slightly as he realized what she was referring to, and he asked, "What do you want from me?"

"He said that if I follow you, I can find out the truth. I guess other 'accomplices' will be coming. I'll have to trouble you with the rest of the time."

"...What do you mean?" Constantine pressed his neck, not understanding for a moment what he was trying to do.

Li Buying shrugged helplessly: "Naturally, I'll stick close to you, then find the Spear of Destiny and the person who gave birth to the Demon Child. By the way, he said you'll get a chance to go to heaven because of this incident."

Constantine was speechless upon hearing his blunt words, but if what the prophet said was true, his situation would indeed be very dangerous.

Most importantly, the chance to ascend to heaven...

After weighing the pros and cons, Constantine nodded in agreement to his protection: "Alright, then you'll come with me. Is there a place to stay?"

"Don't worry about me sticking to you."

"Great, want to come to a bar with me? It's on me."

Pointing to his mask, Li Buying tilted his head as if asking how he could get into the bar like that. Constantine took out another cigarette and lit it: "It's okay, that bar is a bit special. It's fine for you to go in with a mask on, as long as you don't cause trouble."

……

In the end, Li Buying got into Constantine's car. When the car stopped, he got out and saw the bar's sign.

The bar is called Lux. Li Buying stroked her chin, feeling like she had heard the name somewhere before. Could it be owned by some superhero?

He lowered his head and walked in with Constantine, found a place to sit down, and soon a waiter came to ask them what they would like to drink.

Do you have non-alcoholic beverages?

Li Buying looked up at the waiter. The spider on the mask was somewhat abstract and languid, making it not particularly frightening.

The waiter showed no sign of panic upon seeing Li Buying wearing a mask, and smiled as he explained that this was a formal and upscale establishment, and naturally they would also serve regular drinks or alcoholic beverages.

"Just one drink, please."

Turning to Constantine, the exorcist looked at him hesitantly, and after a long pause, cautiously asked, "You...you're not still a child, are you?"

"Of course not, I just don't drink. So, is there something you need from me to come along? Oh, I didn't know there were bars like this..."

Li Buying leaned against the sofa and could feel the softness behind him. The gentle piano music entered his ears and made him squint. He felt that this bar was different from other bars. It was very relaxing.

"You only think of bars as places where a lot of people dance together? Let's talk over drinks." Constantine raised an eyebrow, increasingly convinced that the person in front of him was a child.

The drinks were served quickly. Li Buying raised her colorful and rather attractive drink, took a sip, and waited for the exorcist to speak.

Constantine downed the liquor in front of him in one gulp, blinked as if gathering his courage, and pointed upwards, saying, "You say someone up there is colluding with the Son of Satan, so who is it?"

"The one who sounded the horn of doom."

Gabriel...

Constantine's pupils contracted slightly. Li Buying sensed someone approaching, so she turned around and stared wide-eyed when she saw who it was.

The newcomer was a well-dressed man, and he was the most handsome man Li Buying had ever seen, without exception.

"Hey, what brings you here? Let me introduce you. This is the weaver, and this is the owner of Lux Bar, a super-powerful magician."

Constantine, lost in thought, showed no surprise at the arrival. He seemed to know the bar owner very well, and the bar owner waved to Li Buying in a friendly manner, without a trace of malice.

He sat down next to Constantine, nodded slightly to Li Buying, and asked with a curious glint in his eyes, "Mainly because I overheard you talking about Gabriel. What's that guy up to?"

Although Li Buying didn't recognize the person in front of her, she thought he might be a character from DC Comics. She thought the more people who could help, the better, and finally looked at Constantine to signal his decision.

He wasn't sure what the unfamiliar character's personality was like, so he thought it best to let Constantine explain.

Constantine then picked up another glass of wine and drank it down. He seemed to trust the bar owner a lot and told him everything. The blond owner listened and gave a speechless smile.

"I see. Well then, you'd better keep up the good work. Also, I suggest Constantine go back now; there are guests waiting for you."

Hearing the boss's words, Li Buying looked at him curiously. Could this guy be a real prophetic master?

Constantine got up quickly, grabbed his clothes, and left. Li Buying nodded to the boss and followed him.

Two figures walked out of the bar. The extremely handsome blond owner watched Li Buying's retreating figure with great interest: "A real outsider?"

"But whatever, it's none of my business anyway, I'll just wait and see what happens."

The blond boss wore a nonchalant smile, and the wine glass he gripped tightly reflected a glimpse of the future.

……

Li Buying arrived at Constantine's temporary residence in his car. Instead of going upstairs with him, she explained the situation to him and then hid in an alley to quietly observe how things would develop.

A moment later, a car screeched to a halt downstairs in front of Constantine's building, and a woman stepped out. She hurriedly climbed the stairs and knocked on the door of Constantine's residence.

Hearing the knock, Constantine instantly gripped the holy emblem in his hand. He opened the door and frowned when he saw a woman: "What is it?"

"Are you Detective Constantine? I'd like to ask you some questions related to the occult. My sister committed suicide..."

As Constantine listened to the police officer's account, he gradually learned the whole story. The officer's sister was a believer, but she had committed suicide, which was completely impossible.

She suspected something was wrong, but couldn't find any clues, so she had no choice but to ask the exorcist.

Constantine lit a cigarette and put it in his mouth, inviting her to come in and sit down. Just as he was about to say something, he sensed a very evil magic. He turned around abruptly and saw a shadow flash past the window.

That's definitely a demon. Does it want to kill this woman?

Without a second thought, he knew his own limitations. If this matter was truly related to Gabriel and the Son of Satan, he knew he wouldn't be able to resolve it on his own. He immediately got up, grabbed the policewoman, and ran downstairs.

As soon as he ran out of the apartment, he saw the lights around him gradually go out, and an incomparably dark power enveloped them!
