Chapter 40 Pursuit

Danger! Danger! Danger! —

Li Buying, who was carrying Xiao Taoqi on his back, suddenly stopped. His spider-sense made him tremble all over, as if something that could bring him a fatal crisis was approaching.

With a blink of an eye, Li Buying picked up a sharp spider silk and began carving on a tree, conveying Magneto's "prophecy" to Wolverine and the X-Men.

Magneto narrowed his eyes upon seeing the X-Men who seemed to have been waiting for him there. His gaze flickered to the shattered trees nearby, a multitude of thoughts flashing through his mind. Finally, he smiled and said:

"Oh, children, it seems you already know my plan?"

Wolverine didn't answer. He raised his paw and jumped up to grab Magneto, who was floating in the air. Magneto just slightly curled the corners of his mouth and raised a finger.

Wolverine, who had just leaped up, was frozen in mid-air. With his skeleton filled with metal, he was no match for Magneto.

Magneto deflected Wolverine, but did not see Rogue. He then saw the other X-Men attacking and ordered his companions to stop them.

Standing in mid-air, he tapped his head and pondered:

"You guys were following that kid, oh, and that 'Dark Spider-Man' who caused a stir in New York, and now you're here waiting for me? Was that arranged by Charles?"

"That's right, the professor told us before he was completely paralyzed by the drug. He already knew about your plan. Stop it, Magneto! The senator you turned into a rubber man has died due to genetic collapse. Your machine is ineffective!"

Cyclops was startled and immediately shouted out some of the things Li Buying had told him, hoping to make Magneto realize his mistake in time.

Upon hearing that Charles already knew the news before being paralyzed by Mystique's potion, and that the senator had already arrived at Xavier's School of the Arts, Magneto, who had almost guessed that Li Buying had precognitive abilities, sighed.

The speed of telepathy is instantaneous, and Charles was indeed able to deliver the message to the group before they were paralyzed.

It's a pity. If only it were a mutant with the ability to foresee time, but that's not realistic. We should focus on Rogue.

Magneto ignored Cyclops's advice, believing that the senator's death due to genetic collapse was a lie fabricated by the X-Men to stop him from doing so.

He wrapped himself in spider silk beforehand and looked out into the narrow sewer, preparing to give the mutant who might be Magneto a surprise.

Li Buying raised his hand and shot out sharp spider silk, quickly leaving a trap behind him. He circled around and soon wove a spider web nest, deliberately setting a center point, and then began to wander around in the vicinity.

The connected spider web trembled continuously, and Li Buying used it in conjunction with her spider-sensing to lock onto the enemy and construct a 3D model in her mind.
