The entire Great Hall was filled with a joyful atmosphere. Aside from Professor McGonagall, Gryffindor already had enough troublemakers, but no one had ever pulled off such a stunt on the very first day of school...

Barring any unforeseen circumstances, it seems unlikely that Gryffindor will win the House Cup for the next seven years, even though she had never seen it before.

Kane sat down at the Gryffindor table, and the three Weasley brothers, whom he had met once before, came over.

"Congratulations, Kane, welcome to Gryffindor, the land of courage," said the tall, thin wizard named Percy with a serious expression.

“Well, although that hat was originally intended for me to go to Hufflepuff,” Kane said with a shrug.

"Courageous yet kind, such fine qualities. You'll make many good friends at Hogwarts." Percy still wore that smiling poker face, which at first glance resembled that of a high-ranking official, or Maxwell, whom he had met at the beginning—a very... arrogant gaze.

Meanwhile, the Weasley twins finally got help from others to lift the silencing spell that Percy had cast on them. One of them pulled Percy behind him, while the other casually put his arm around Kane's shoulder and began to spout his Gryffindor philosophy.

In summary, prefects are irrelevant; they're just a privileged class used by professors to oppress junior wizards. They're completely useless and just use their power to make Kane disregard the position of prefect.

"So the question is, who is the prefect?"

George pointed with his thumb at Percy, who was fighting with Fred: "He's the prefect."

Just as the two were talking, another round of enthusiastic applause erupted: "We have Potter!"

Harry Potter made a dazzling entrance, smiling like an eleven-year-old fool as he sat down in his Gryffindor seat. Now only Ron was left. Well, just a minute later, Ron was in the lead too.

The young wizards were then assigned to their respective houses one after another. It's worth mentioning that Hermione and Neville, who seemed rather timid, were also assigned to Gryffindor.

Dumbledore stood up at this moment, raised his wine glass, and first said some Hogwarts precautions as usual, such as not entering the rooms in the fourth-floor corridor, otherwise one might die.

"No entry to the forbidden forest, or you'll die," he finally uttered that somewhat insightful opening line: "Idiot, crybaby, scraps, twist, everyone dig in!"

In an instant, everyone in the Great Hall started eating, with Harry and Ron excitedly stuffing all sorts of delicious food into their mouths.

Kane was the same, but he was thinking about two things. One of them was how to make his magic have the characteristics of a frog's tongue, so that when he fought other people's magic duels, he could hit the enemy once and the enemy would drop equipment, and he could hit the enemy once and the enemy would drop equipment. Wouldn't that be wonderful?

There's a second thing: what did Dumbledore mean by those four words?

"Aren't you curious too? What about those four words Dumbledore said?" Hermione asked after sitting across from Kane for quite some time.

After all, she had always thought that Kane was a Celestial Dragon from a prominent family and would definitely not treat people of Muggle origin like them with a friendly attitude, so she hadn't approached him before.

However, after what happened in the foyer, he realized that Kane seemed...to be a pretty good guy. He decided to strike up a conversation!

Kane nodded and readily admitted, "I'm not just curious, I also plan to ask Dumbledore directly later."

After Kane finished speaking, he continued eating until the banquet ended. Each house prefect was responsible for escorting the young wizards of their respective houses to their dormitories, but Kane simply broke away from the group and headed towards the eighth-floor tower where the headmaster's office was located.

Chapter Twenty-Four: The Meaning of Four Words

Perhaps it was like Dumbledore's previous setup, the two stone statues guarding his house must recognize him, since even professors need a password to enter the headmaster's office, but he doesn't.

dong dong dong...

Kane thought for a moment and decided to knock on the door first.

The door opened by itself, and Dumbledore sat down with a smile: "Let me guess, your magic has encountered a small problem?"

Kane raised an eyebrow, simply saying that with a thought, he released all the magical shadows from his body and then reabsorbed them back into his body.

"I'm sorry to disappoint you, but I learned it on the same day."

"That's really impressive. So, what brings you here?"

"What did you mean by what you said in the auditorium? Idiot, crybaby, scum, twist? Those four words?" Kane asked.

Dumbledore spread his hands innocently: "Every year I just say a few words, and then a lot of little wizards will help me explain the real meaning of those words, but in fact I don't even know that I've given those words so many meanings, it's just for fun."

Kane looked at Dumbledore with a smile. He regretted coming. Wouldn't it have been better to spend this time in the dormitory having a pillow fight with Harry and Ron?

"A waste of life." Kane muttered as he left.

Dumbledore sat in his chair, looking helpless: "I was just saying it offhand. Do you expect me to come up with some profound reason on the spot?"

On his way back to the dormitory, a cat's meow suddenly appeared behind Kane. He turned around and saw Felch carrying a lantern.

“Hmm…” Felch looked at the young wizard in front of him, who clearly had a close relationship with the headmaster, and slowly said, “There is a curfew now, but since this is your first offense, we will not do it again.”

"Thank you, sir." Kane quickened his pace and left the corridor, soon returning to his bedroom.

There aren't many young wizards this year. For example, there are only six boys in Gryffindor. Kane, Harry, and Ron share a dorm room, while Neville, Simon Finegan, and Dean Thomas share the other.

By this time, Harry and Ron had fought quite a bit, and the once fluffy and firm pillow was now limp and powerless.

Now, the two of them are cooking spaghetti in a small crucible in their dorm room.

"Wow, it smells so good! Is there any for me?" Kane quickly moved closer, wanting a share.

“Of course, but you two will have to get your own forks.” Ron was stirring the spaghetti when Kane and Harry went to get their forks. When the two returned with their forks, they found Ron already slurping the noodles in the cauldron by himself.

"???" Kane and Harry stared at the scene in shock: "So?"

"Hmm, that's all." Ron said, slurping up another mouthful of noodles.

Kane chuckled helplessly and pointed at Ron with his finger: "You little brat!"

The next moment, Shadow grabbed Ron's limbs, making him stop attacking his plate of spaghetti.

The second farce in the dormitory ended, and the three of them finally quieted down. Ron and Harry exchanged a glance, and finally Harry cleared his throat: "Ahem, Kane, you just said you were going to ask Dumbledore something, what were you going to ask?"

"It's that four-word opening line of his, the one with 'idiot scum'," Kane said casually.

"What exactly did that sentence mean?" Harry asked, immediately intrigued.

“Tell me about it! I bet it’s a really high-level spell!” Ron’s eyes lit up.

"He said he hadn't thought that much about it; it's just four useless words, but every year there are bored little wizards like us who study his randomly made-up opening lines."

Harry and Ron both fell silent for a moment; this reason simply didn't match Dumbledore, a renowned wizard.

“Hmm…I don’t believe it.” Harry shook his head.

“Maybe Dumbledore wasn’t telling you the truth? Maybe it’s some kind of strange spell, the kind that can protect us, but it won’t work if you tell us about it?” Ron continued to speculate.

"Then I don't know. Maybe you two can ask him tomorrow?" Kane said, sitting up from the bed. Then he suddenly remembered something. It seems that everyone else needs a password to go to Dumbledore's office, right?

Forget it, they might not even go.

But things didn't go as planned. Harry and Ron nodded in unison: "Let's go!"

"Good luck to you." Kane scratched his head helplessly. Maybe Dumbledore would kindly open the door for them, but none of that mattered much to him right now.

The most important thing now is to get our campfire back going before midnight.

Over time, his campfire has naturally been upgraded, shrinking from a fire pit that could roast beggar's chicken to a small light source that can be placed on a bedside table.

This was a small campfire that he and Harry made by cutting off the cobblestones that paved Diagon Alley.

Ron glanced at Kane's burning bedside table...

"Um... Kane, your bedside table seems to be getting all worked up," Ron said quietly.

Before Kane could explain, Harry immediately answered the strange question: "That's his nightlight. Our Mr. Kane Heath is afraid of the dark."

Kane blushed slightly. This was clearly a rule of the Eternal Realm, so how could it be called being afraid of the dark?

"Alright, Kane, if you're really scared, we can leave the lights on at night and use bed curtains." Ron was very understanding, much better than the anthropomorphic Harry in this respect.

Thinking back to the first time Harry was under the same roof as him, he sat down by the campfire with ease. How did Harry do it back then?

I don't know what I was thinking, but I felt that if I left the Dursleys, I would be a homeless vagrant on the streets. I didn't know that I was enjoying a life of luxury at Hogwarts.

Speaking of which, I hope Dumbledore won't let anything slip tomorrow? Probably not, Dumbledore is such a reliable person.

Kane lay on the bed and fell into a deep sleep with a blissful expression.

As for the remaining question in his mind, how to turn the Eternal Realm Frog's properties into a spell...

Tomorrow's first class is spells class. If you don't understand something, just ask the teacher. If you have a teacher but don't ask and try to figure it out on your own, that's just being silly.

And so, Hogwarts entered its second day.

Kane felt his sanity level drop again. To be honest, he really didn't want to use that wreath. It would be a bit grotesque for people to see a real man wearing that thing.

However, in order to avoid being chased all over Hogwarts by shadow monsters...

Bitter!

"So can't you just take that thing off your head? Everyone in the Great Hall is staring at you," Harry said, a little embarrassed.

"I'll knit one for you two later, so you can keep me company," Kane said while drinking some oatmeal.

"Well, I don't think that's necessary."

"Me too."

“Um…maybe I can keep you company?” Neville, who was separated from Kane by a Harry, suddenly said quietly.

Chapter Twenty-Five: If the professor doesn't come to me, I'll go to the professor.

Kane looked at Neville with some surprise and slowly said, "You're a good person."

Neville nodded, his face flushed. "My grandma says the same thing about me, though she always adds 'weak' to it. But I think you might need someone to accompany you while you wear the flower wreath, so you don't feel so special? Consider it my way of thanking you for helping me yesterday."

Kane looked at Neville. Hmm, he'd met this younger brother before; he was a very good person.

However, there's really no need for that. I was just a little annoyed to see Harry and Ron gloating, but I'm not so upset that I would die just because someone saw me wearing a wreath.

"But Neville, if you really want to thank me, how about lending me your Lucky Strike so I can help you raise it for a couple of days?"

Harry looked at Kane speechlessly. He had to do all the work for his Hukin. Now Hukin lived and ate with Hedwig every day. If it weren't for the reproductive isolation between the raven and the snow owl, who knows, an egg might have popped out one day.

Now he has to raise other people's pets, and they're even raising frogs, which he himself dislikes the most?

Something's not right. Based on his understanding of Kane, this kid definitely has some strange scheme in mind, probably up to no good!

Neville hesitated for a moment: "Then you have to guarantee Laifu's safety."

"I will absolutely not harm it. I will bring it back to you alive and kicking," Kane solemnly assured him.

Neville didn't hesitate; he reached into his pocket, pulled out his sticky, chubby Lucky Bean, and was about to hand it to Kane.

"Hmm..." After hesitating for a while, he still reached out and took the toad. He had personally shown off the kind of food that most people wouldn't dare to look at, like roasted frog legs and frog leg sandwiches. It's just a toad, what's the big deal?

Soon, breakfast time ended, and the first-year wizards began their first class at Hogwarts.

Professor Flitwick is a half-human, half-elf wizard. He is quite short and is standing on a stack of books, barely able to reach the podium.
