"Ok?"
Now, both Arizakun and the exciter realized a certain possibility, a somewhat absurd one.
"Those mortals sitting on the flying fists weren't trying to control their direction, but rather to use the warship that landed on us? And they didn't die in that impact?"
The person who performed the excision crushed the communication device.
"This is good news. We'll have a chance to obtain some interesting souls. I believe Lord Archimonde will forgive our mistakes... Can you determine where they're headed, Excider?"
Arizakun looked at the Exciter, his eyes flashing with a terrifying fel energy.
"immediately......"
Knowing that now was not the time to go against Arizakun, the Excider's hands flew across the keyboard, and a few seconds later, with a strange expression—if a demon could even have an expression—it answered Arizakun's question.
"I've detected a series of new damages inside the warship. If the source of this damage is those mortals, then their destination... is here."
"What did you say?"
No sooner had Arizakun spoken than a shockwave, a mixture of elemental forces, blasted a section of the bridge bulkhead into pieces. Several mangled demon corpses rolled into the bridge with the shockwave, and the head of a Doomguard landed right in front of Arizakun.
"Hello, demon, how's this surprise?"
Tannis very kindly turned on the translator and greeted Arizakun, who looked to be the leader, in the demon language.
"Demons, your end has come!"
This is Broxigar, carrying Broxigar, who was still dripping with demonic blood as he stepped onto the bridge.
"You will pay for Dalaran's debt with your blood."
After realizing she couldn't stop Tannis from rushing into the bridge, Jaina, who was helping Tannis break through the wall, had her hands wrapped in frost power and her body surrounded by ice shards, like a queen of winter.
"Burning Legion, the Horde also has a debt they want to collect from you."
Thrall and Varok, whose Doomhammers were still crackling with electricity, were the last to enter the hall and stand side by side with the others in front of them.
"Very well...very well...you actually dare to face me, mortals..."
Feeling utterly underestimated, Arizakun raised his hand high, and the environment on the bridge instantly changed dramatically.
"Facing Arizakun! The Burning Legion's high-ranking Shadowcaster!!"
Battle of Hyjal (Chapter 61) - Bridge Fighting
Flames bring light and warmth to people.
Darkness brings comfort and peace.
However, in the hands of the high-ranking Shadow Warlocks of the Burning Legion, the meaning of these two things coincidentally went to the other extreme. The churning flames rose and fell, attempting to burn everything tangible and intangible to ashes, while endless shadows traversed the void, trying to distort and assimilate everything they came into contact with.
"Look closely, mortals! This is a power you cannot contend with!!"
Amidst Arizakun's furious roar, the spreading flames and surging darkness completely distorted the surrounding environment, creating a bizarre cage. Outside the cage, countless indistinct faces howled and writhed, revealing without reservation their desire to drag the souls of the living people inside out of their vibrant bodies and merge them into their own evil desires.
"This will be the last time your heartbeats!!"
Having completed the construction of the cage, Arizakun continued without pause, drawing another strange spell in the air. Strands of black energy 'drilled' out of the spell, and instantly, Tannis and the others felt as if their hearts were being gripped by something, making it hard to breathe.
"Elemental spirits!! Help me break this evil spell!!"
Faced with this completely incomprehensible curse, Thrall did not hesitate to raise Doomhammer and smash it into the ground, forcibly drawing out the elemental power that was circulating in various areas of the fel warship. A clear spring gushed out from the metal ground with Thrall's movement, relieving everyone's discomfort.
"Your evil magic is nothing more than this, you demon!!"
Broxigar and Warlock unleashed their power simultaneously, their two battle axes flanking Arizakun from the left and right. Clearly, if this attack landed, even though Arizakun was a powerful demon, he would inevitably suffer the loss of several body parts.
"Have you all forgotten I exist? Hehehehehehe!!!"
Accompanied by the Exciter's utterly awful laughter, two pale green beams of light swept toward the Saurfang brothers, attempting to sever them in half.
"And you didn't take me seriously either, did you?"
Tannis's voice rang out, and two missiles whistled as they flew into the horde of vengeful spirits. After an explosion, the beam path of the Exciter shifted. Meanwhile, the Saurfang brothers' battleaxes struck Arizakun.
With a snap, Arizakun's figure vanished like a bubble, then coalesced in another area of the cage.
"This is an illusion! No... not an ordinary illusion... this is a special illusion used to channel spells!"
Jaina used her magical knowledge to determine the true nature of 'Arizakum,' but before she could devise a countermeasure, Arizakum's fel magic was once again being channeled into form.
"Flesh and blood...turned to ash!!!"
Clusters of eerie green flames rose from the five people's bodies, and the unbearable pain stimulated everyone's nerves. Without hesitation, Tani pressed a switch on her belt and injected the healing potion directly into her body.
To her surprise, the soothing sensation that the healing potion was supposed to provide did not occur, as if the potion had not worked at all.
"Thrall! This flame will absorb healing effects!"
"I see!!"
Despite the excruciating pain, Thrall rushed to the still-gushing spring of water elementals, scooped up the pure water condensed from the water elementals, and sprinkled it in all directions. Gradually, Tanis felt the coolness replace the burning sensation, and the magical fire on everyone's bodies gradually extinguished.
"Arcane... Beacon!!"
Jaina gritted her teeth and tried her best to ignore the lingering burning pain, slamming her staff heavily into the ground. Several arcane light arrays formed on the ground, and the figure of Arizakun vaguely appeared in each arcane beacon.
"Fire all missiles!!"
Having realized that these things were the key to breaking this cage, Tannis unleashed several launch ports around her. Small missiles, trailing flames, crashed into each marked demon figure. Amidst bursts of fire, the cage binding everyone crumbled, and Arizakun and the Cutter, piloting a grotesque mech, appeared before them.
"Mortal, don't think that escaping my cage is the end. Now, it's just the beginning!!"
Arizakun clasped his hands together, and a blast of scorching wind swept through the captain's cabin. The wind was so strong that even the physically weak Jaina felt as if she were 'bound' to the spot.
"Come, come, let me see how your body parts are?"
Seeing the approaching mortals struggling to move due to Arizakun's hot winds, the Exciter happily approached these 'overconfident' mortals in his mech. The chainsaws on the mech roared and shrieked, stirring up the air into chaos.
"I'm actually quite interested in your mecha..."
Tannis's voice rang in the Exciter's ears again, and several EZ-8 robots removed their disguises and appeared under the Exciter's mech.
"Mortal!! When will you...!"
As a demon with expertise in engineering, the Exciter immediately realized that the square-shaped robot's power might be a bit... insane. It tried to control the mech to leave, but the explosion came even faster.
Boom!!!
The EZ-8 suicide bomber exploded simultaneously, blasting the cutter and its mech into the air, where they crashed into the bridge wall. The Morgo demon then slumped down, seemingly dead.
"Useless! I shouldn't have made you my deputy!"
Seeing his second-in-command defeated by Tannis in one move, Arizakun concentrated his fel energy between his hands, planning to defeat Thrall in one blow. He had already realized that this orc, who seemed to be a warrior, was actually very good at healing. As long as Thrall was around, he would not be able to use his preferred methods to slowly torture Tannis and the others to death.
However, before he could fully gather his magical power, an extremely uncomfortable force entered his body and bones, and the unfinished sphere of fel energy in his hand vanished.
"You are not that high-ranking, demon."
Jaina nipped Arizakun's spell in the bud with a brilliant counterattack. Raising her staff, she unleashed a barrage of Frostbolts at Arizakun. Forced to abandon his channeling of the Heatstorm, Arizakun prepared to protect himself.
"roar!"
"ha!!!"
Then, Arizakun realized that he had made a fatal, terrible, and irreparable mistake.
The Saurfang brothers' battleaxes struck Aizakun at an absolutely perfect angle, splattering the eredar warlock's magic blood and causing Aizakun's mind to go blank for a moment due to the intense pain.
"die!!!"
Thrall, wielding the Doomhammer brimming with elemental power, slammed it into Arizakun's chest. The elemental force impacted Arizakun's body, causing pieces of it to explode.
"goodbye!"
Tanya drew her beloved gun and shot Arizakun in the head. Jaina followed up with a spell, more than doubling the size of the hole Tanya had made.
"Don't...think...this is...the end..."
After suffering multiple fatal blows, Arizakun finally couldn't hold on any longer. After uttering a harsh word, he collapsed heavily into his captain's chair and fell silent.
62. The Battle of Hyjal - The Fall of the Warship
"Where is the console?"
After the high-ranking Shadow Warlock Arizakun was defeated, Thrall, without taking a break, began searching the captain's cabin for what appeared to be a control panel. However, the scene that greeted him left him completely at a loss. In Thrall's eyes, every panel in the bridge looked like the control panel they were looking for!
"This...is too complicated..."
Brox walked to a table and examined the various symbols and buttons on it. After thinking for a few seconds, he gave up the idea of pressing a few buttons.
"Can you find what we're looking for, Tennys?"
Compared to the three orcs who were already contemplating whether to simply chop all of these things up, Jaina was clearly thinking much more deeply.
"This is a bit troublesome. Although I have some of the Burning Legion's code, their technological system is completely different from mine..."
Tennys connected her mechanical assistant to an interface and tried her best to analyze the data, but as she said, her analysis was not progressing smoothly.
Just as the group was getting anxious, a faint sound reached Brox's ears. He turned around and saw the Exciter trying to sneak out from the pile of messy metal fragments and slip away.
"Demon! Don't even think about running!!"
With a roar from Brox, the Cutter, who had just crawled out halfway, was lifted out like a chicken caught and slammed heavily to the ground. Then, he raised his battle axe, ready to sever the Cutter's head.
Just when the excised soul thought it was about to become a shameful fragment of its soul and be banished back to the Twisting Nether, Tannis's voice rang in its ears like heavenly music.
“Brox, don’t kill it yet. I think this guy can be of some small help to our current situation.”
Brox slowed his movements, and the excider, realizing that he had a sliver of hope of not becoming a fragment, decisively abandoned his dignity.
“That’s right! That’s right! I’m very useful! I’m a senior engineer in the Legion, and I’ve participated in some of the design of magic-powered mechs and fel-powered warships. I’ve also conducted research on fel-powered bombs…”
"Shh... I'm interested in a lot of what you've said, but if you want to live, you have to help us solve a series of small problems first."
Tennys held up a finger to stop the exciter's boasting, and the exciter obediently stopped bragging.
"You said you participated in the design of the fel mothership, so you must be very familiar with how to operate a fel mothership?"
"Of course! If it weren't for Lord Archimonde's wishes, I would have been the captain of this fel-elemental mothership!"
