Adam, upon hearing Maria Hill's words, thought she was a good friend and agreed to answer a few questions. He then told Maria Hill that he suspected the Hulk incident was a man-made accident and asked her to investigate it when she got back. Maria Hill remembered these things and secretly decided to investigate on her own when she got back to see what Nick Fury was hiding from her. Then she asked Nick Fury the last question he had made sure she knew—the whereabouts of Frank Castle.

Although Adam had little contact with Frank Caesar, he knew from those brief encounters that Frank Caesar was a sentimental person. Therefore, he did not tell Maria Hill Frank Caesar's whereabouts, but instead said that Frank Caesar would return and take revenge on all those who had harmed him.

Although Maria Hill did not get an answer, she was already satisfied, so she stopped asking for more information and decided to ask about Natasha instead.
