Adam frowned as he watched Obadiah's retreating figure. Suddenly, he noticed the handbag Obadiah was carrying. With a quick glance using his X-ray vision, he knew exactly what Obadiah was planning to do.

Adam noticed dozens of crumpled sheets of paper in Obadiah's bag, covered in scribbled scientific terms. Based on the handwriting, Adam was certain these were scraps of paper Howard had used for research, which Obadiah had retrieved from the trash can.

Adam chuckled and said, "Heh, this guy is doing this kind of thing again."

What?! You're asking why Adam laughed?

That's because Adam first saw Obadiah find Howard's used paper in the trash can several years ago. At the time, angry at Obadiah's actions, Adam dragged Obadiah to Howard's office and told him about it. But to Adam's surprise, Howard just smiled and didn't say anything to Obadiah.

After Obadiah left, Howard told Adam that it was all a little trick he had planned himself, just to divert Obadiah's attention from the company's core technology to other things. That's why he would occasionally pretend to be angry because of research failures and throw some half-true research data into the trash can outside the office.

Howard spread his hands and said, "He can only blame himself for being delusional. By the way, how's your movie coming along?"

Adam said, "Yeah, almost done filming!"

Howard nodded and said, "You must be wondering why I called you here in such a hurry."

Adam said, "I am indeed a little puzzled. Has something happened?"

Howard nodded and said, "Nick Fury from S.H.I.E.L.D. has already come to me and taken some information about Rogers from me."

Adam asked, "Superman Soldier Serum? I remember that stuff is dangerous. Didn't you always disagree with handing it over to S.H.I.E.L.D.?"

Howard said, "Nick Fury traded some intelligence and protection for the data! You know what I mean, so be careful lately. If possible, have Tony stay with you for a few days. Although S.H.I.E.L.D. said they would protect both of you, I still trust you more, Adam!"

Chapter 44 Reencounter with the X-Men

Adam's slightly drunken eyes cleared instantly, and he asked, "Where is the Blue Devil?"

Athena said, "The Blue Devil disappeared near the outskirts of Boston. The exact location needs to be found by the master."

"Alright, I'll look for it when I get there." Adam knew that Athena had done her best to pinpoint such a small area; he would have to find the rest himself. Without further ado, Adam prepared to set off now.

So he said to Tony, "Tony, sorry, I have to go now!"

Tony understood his brother's feelings and laughed, "Alright, we'll just have to wait until next time to drink to our hearts' content. But bro, watch out!"

Adam nodded and said, "Yes, don't worry, nothing will happen!" After saying that, he left the living room again, went into the laboratory to get the equipment Athena had prepared for him, and then left the villa.

Adam shook his head after reading it and said, "The X-Men really don't seem like warriors!"

When Adam heard the news that a mutant had invaded the White House to assassinate the president, he immediately asked Athena to locate the mutant. Just as the sun was about to set, Athena finally found the mutant's hiding place—Boston.

After hearing the news, Adam said goodbye to Tony and rushed to Boston. He finally found Blue Devil and the X-Men Phoenix and Storm in a church in the suburbs.

Adam watched the two trying to persuade Blue Devil, shook his head slightly, and thought to himself, 'These X-Men don't seem like warriors at all. But it's understandable, since they're all people who don't want to fight and are afraid of their own abilities.'

Thinking this, Adam had already entered the church. Seeing the three people looking at him because of his arrival, he smiled and said, "Beautiful ladies, do you need any help?"

Phoenix Girl frowned and asked, "Xia Ying? What are you doing here?"

Adam pointed to the Blue Devil standing on the beam and said, "I have some questions for that guy. You're here because of the president's assassination, right?"

Storm nodded and said, "Yes, the professor told us to take him back, since this incident has put us mutants completely on the opposite side of the US government."

Hearing the conversation below, the Blue Devil knew that Adam had also come to capture him. He roared and said, "Get out of here! I am the spokesperson of the devil, I am an unforgivable devil. If you don't leave, I will kill you!!!" As he spoke, he kept teleporting and appearing in various parts of the church.

Adam frowned immediately after reading it. Although this guy was threatening them, his expression clearly showed he was afraid of the three of them. Could there be some hidden story here? Or was this Blue Devil also being controlled by someone?!

To clear up his doubts, Adam said to Phoenix, "Something's not right. I'll grab him first! You guys can help me out." With that, he lunged forward and almost instantly arrived next to Blue Devil, reaching out to grab him.

But Blue Devil was, after all, a mutant with the ability to teleport, so upon seeing Adam's astonishing speed, he instantly turned into a cloud of gray mist and reappeared on the other side of the church.

Adam continued to probe, eventually discovering that the other party truly had no intention of killing. This was because the other party kept teleporting, seemingly unwilling to harm others or leave the church. Perhaps the church held some significance for him.

Having tested the Blue Devil and found no murderous intent, Adam smiled slightly, threw out a sphere the size of a button, and instantly appeared in front of Storm and Phoenix, using his heat ray to create a protective circle in front of them.

Just as Phoenix and the others were wondering what was going on, the sphere exploded with a bang, and almost instantly the entire surface of the church was covered with a layer of white frost. Then, with a bang, Blue Devil suddenly fell from the roof beam and was caught by Phoenix with her telekinesis.

Storm looked at Adam and said, "Amazing!"

Adam smiled and said, "Of course it's amazing, hehe, I specially prepared this for the Blue Devil."

Phoenix Girl, upon hearing this, asked, "Blue Devil?"

The name reminded her of some documents she had seen in Professor X's office before, in which there seemed to be a similar name.

Adam, unaware of Phoenix's thoughts, explained, "Don't you think he looks a lot like a legendary demon? Plus, his body is blue, so I call him Blue Devil, since Blue Devil doesn't sound very nice."

Blue Devil was displeased upon hearing this and said, "I'm not called Blue Devil, I'm Kurt Wagner!"

After listening, Adam looked at him and said, "Well, Mr. Wagner, could you tell me why you wanted to assassinate the president?"
