Adam and Logan went to a bar and chatted over drinks. Through their conversation, Adam learned that Logan had made Xavier's School of the Rising Sun his home, but he had to leave because he was searching for the original meaning of his memories.

Logan looked at Adam in surprise and said, "You have no objection to my idea?"

Adam nodded and said, "Of course I have no objection. Why?"

Logan asked, "Aren't you afraid that the professors will find out your identity?"

Adam laughed, "What's there to be afraid of? If Professor X is really like the legends say, he'll definitely keep it a secret for me. Of course, if he isn't, it doesn't matter. As the eldest son of Howard Stark, no one dares to mess around. Besides, I'm not someone to be trifled with!"

Logan seemed relieved and said, "Well, thank you, Adam."

Adam shrugged and said, "You're welcome, Logan. We're friends."

Logan replied, "Yes, we're friends. Let's drink to our friendship!"

Adam clinked glasses with his and said, "Cheers!" Then he drank the wine in his glass.

After that, Adam and Logan stopped talking about these worries and instead talked about the interesting things that happened to Logan during his trip or to Adam at school. The atmosphere was very harmonious.

Adam, feeling slightly tipsy after drinking until midnight, stopped drinking and then left the bar with Logan, returning to the villa.

The next day, when Adam found Logan again, Logan was packing his things, looking like he was about to leave.

Adam said, "Alright, let's not talk about this anymore. Let's go. I brought some breakfast, let's eat together."

Logan nodded and said, "Okay, I got it. I'll pack my things and head over in a bit!"

After hearing this, Adam said, "Okay, I'll go wait for you." Then he left Logan's room.

Adam knew why Logan wasn't going back now. He seemed to miss Xavier's School of Thought last night, but today he decided to continue searching for clues. It was all because of him. Logan didn't want to risk exposing Adam's identity by letting Professor X examine his memories, so he planned to continue investigating for a few more days. If he couldn't find anything, given Logan's temperament, he might very well give up on finding the memories.

Knowing all this, Adam was deeply moved. After all, Logan was his only true friend in the world, and the only person he could trust besides his family. He decided that when he returned, he would have Athena hack into S.H.I.E.L.D.'s secret database again to check, hoping to find something useful.

While Adam and Logan were having breakfast in the villa, inside a secret building beneath the Alkari Lake Dam, a man in military uniform was speaking to a middle-aged man of medium build and slightly overweight.

After hearing this, the middle-aged man said, "Oh? You mean Logan came to the base?"

The soldier nodded and said, "Yes, he stood in the ruins for a while and then left. Because we knew his intuition was very sharp, we didn't dare to follow him any further."

After hearing this, the middle-aged man said, "Alright, I understand. Continue to monitor him!"

After hearing this, the soldier saluted and said, "Yes, sir!" and then left.

The middle-aged man squinted and said, "Hehe, Logan, my lovely test subject, we'll be able to meet soon." He clapped his hands, and a beautiful woman in a black suit walked in.

The middle-aged man said calmly, "Yuriko, summon the Blue Devil!"

The woman, referred to as Yuriko, said calmly, "Yes, General Stryker!" and then left the room.

A moment later, Yuriko led a man wearing a gray trench coat, blue leather clothes, a devilish tail, and saw-like teeth into the room.

Stryker looked at the mutant in front of him, handed him a dagger, and said calmly, "Blue Devil, take this dagger and kill the president!"

Blue Devil trembled upon hearing this, seemingly preparing to refuse. Stryker, seeing this, snorted coldly and gestured to Yuriko.

Upon seeing this, Yuriko grabbed Blue Devil's body and brought him before General Stryker.

Stryker took out a bottle of potion, his face grim, and said, "Disobedient children must be punished!" He then dripped the potion onto Blue Devil's neck.

The struggling Blue Devil suddenly stopped struggling and quietly awaited Stryker's orders. Upon seeing this, Stryker's lips curled into a smug smile, and he said viciously, "No one can escape my grasp! Go, kill the president!"

The Blue Devil revealed a wicked smile and said, "Yes, my lord! I will return that lamb to your embrace!" With that, he left the room.

Stryker looked at Blue Devil's retreating figure with disgust, then said to Yuriko, "Yuriko, let the priest create chaos again and shift S.H.I.E.L.D.'s focus onto them. Hmph, I don't want my plans to be ruined by these guys!"

Yuriko nodded and said, "Yes, General!" Then she left the room.

Meanwhile, Stark Tower welcomed two special guests.

In Howard Stark's office, Nick Fury, unusually, wasn't wearing his usual black trench coat but instead a suit, sitting in front of Howard with Maria Hill, who was dressed as his secretary.

Howard's tone was sharp as he asked, "What are you doing here?"

Nick Fury said, "I know you don't approve of how I do things, but the nature of my work dictates my character! Everything I do is for humanity."

Howard said coldly, "That's why I didn't kick you out right away!"

Nick Fury smiled slightly, then winked at Maria Hill, who handed Howard a file folder.

Howard didn't reach out to take it. Instead, he looked at Howard and asked, "So, what is it you want?"

Nick Fury said, "I've come to ask for your help!"

Howard scoffed, "Heh, you guys are really something. You only remember me at times like this. You're not getting my help!"

Nick Fury ignored Howard's sarcasm and continued, "We're preparing to restart the Super Soldier program and need you to provide some information related to Captain America. This isn't an order, it's a request, because we need to gain the power to fight Hydra and the Brotherhood of Mutants."

Howard replied, "Heh, you're dreaming."

Nick Fury said, "I can send people to protect your two sons. With their talents, I'm sure there are members of other organizations around them!"

Howard scoffed, "It's just a different way of monitoring you. Do you think I didn't notice the agents you sent? I just don't want to fall out with you. Don't go too far, or I'll really get angry!"

Chapter Forty-Two: Back to New York

Nick Fury arrived at Stark Tower and demanded information from Howard Stark about Captain America's super-soldier serum, but Howard refused to budge. At this point, Nick Fury suggested protecting Howard's two sons, which only fueled Howard's anger.

Nick Fury patiently said, "Mr. Howard, we mean you no harm. We just want to protect your son. You know, their talent is really strong, and we can't let them get hurt."

Howard said coldly, "You still dare to talk about protection? Last time you sent agents to lure my son, if I hadn't discovered it early, wouldn't he be willingly serving you this time?!"

Nick Fury, without batting an eye, retorted, "I'm sorry about what happened last time, Mr. Howard. I didn't expect they would fall in love with each other. We can't control love, can we?"

Howard said, "Hmph, I can't control love, but I can stop those with ulterior motives! This has already happened once, and I don't want to see it happen again. I know what you're thinking. I can give you all the information, but don't push my limits again. My patience has its limits! I can build S.H.I.E.L.D. myself, and I can destroy it too!"

Nick Fury's expression changed instantly, and he said in a grim tone, "Are you threatening me?"

Howard sneered and said, "No, I'm just reminding you! Don't forget, I have that ability!"

Nick Fury gritted his teeth and said, "Fine! I'll remember your words!"

Howard continued, "Hmph, that's for the best. Also, the Super Soldier program itself has flaws. You need to be careful when you're researching it, or the consequences will be unimaginable!"

Nick Fury knew that the other man was never joking when it came to scientific research, so he nodded and said, "Thanks for the reminder, I'll keep that in mind!"

Howard nodded, then took some written documents, several tapes, and magnetic cards from the safe under the family photo and handed them to Maria Hill, saying, "Alright, everything's here. I hope you remember what I said!"

Nick Fury said in a deep voice, "Don't worry, I won't forget!" After saying that, he left Stark Industries with Maria Hill.

Logan and Adam finished breakfast, and then Logan said he wanted to leave.

Adam nodded and said, "Alright, good luck, Logan!"

Logan smiled and said, "Thank you! I'll be going now." With that, he slung his black bag over his shoulder and slowly walked away.

After dropping Logan off, Adam checked the time and realized it was still early, so he drove to the film set, watched the movie shooting for a while, and then went to Christine's side during a break.

Christine looked very happy and said, "Hey, Adam, you're here."

Adam nodded and said, "Yes, I'm planning to go back today, so I came to say goodbye."

Christine wasn't sad or upset, because she already knew about it. She just smiled and said, "Yeah, I know. By the way, where's Logan?"

Adam explained, “Oh, Logan has set off again, embarking on a new journey, and I don’t know when he’ll be back.”

Christine replied, "I really envy him. He can travel whenever he wants. I wish I could do that too."

Adam laughed and said, "You can do it now!"

Christine understood what Adam meant, but shook her head and said, "No, Adam, I have to finish filming this movie. But can we go on a trip together afterwards, Adam?"

Adam laughed and said, "Of course, darling!"

After talking for a while, Adam, under Christine's reluctant gaze, turned and left the filming location, drove back to the city, returned the car to the rental company, and then went to the airport.

They walked in silence. By the afternoon, Adam was already standing in Manhattan, New York, because Howard had called him over as soon as he arrived in New York.

Adam walked into the company and encountered a gloomy-faced man. He recognized him; this man was a shareholder, existing solely to appease antitrust authorities. Adam disliked this man because years ago, it was this man who revealed that Adam was an illegitimate child.

However, due to his years of etiquette training, Adam still nodded to him and said, "Hello, Mr. Stan."

In contrast to Adam's coldness, Obadiah was very enthusiastic towards him, seemingly unaware that his previous little actions had been discovered. He said, "Oh, Adam, you've come to see your father. Hehe, it's been a long time since I've seen you. How have you been?"

Adam said calmly, "Thank you for your concern, Mr. Stan. I've been fine. I've been busy filming a movie lately, so I haven't been here."

Upon hearing this, Obadiah said, "Oh, that's such a pity, because you didn't come when Tony visited my house last time. Your aunt misses you terribly."

Adam knew that Tony had a fondness for this older man since childhood, and said, "I will make time to visit Mrs. Stan."

Obadiah smiled slightly and said, "Alright, your father is in the lab. Go find him. I have something to do, so I'll be going now." With that, he waved and turned to leave.
