Adam stood up with a smile and said, "Beautiful princess, may I have this dance with you?"

Christine smiled charmingly and said, "Of course, my prince!"

Adam, holding Christine's hand, asked, "Why not a knight?"

Christine playfully said, "I prefer the prince, is that not allowed?"

Adam laughed and said, "Of course, my princess!" Then he embraced Christine and slowly swayed his body to the music.

Christine leaned her head close to Adam's ear and whispered, "You know what? I've been having this unreal feeling lately, especially these past few days when you haven't called me, and I can't reach you when I try. It makes me feel like I've been abandoned."

Adam looked at Christine and said, "You silly girl, why are you thinking like that? I'm just too busy. You should know what's been happening in New York these past few days. Because of these events, morale in the company is low, and I have to think of a solution."

Christine stopped Adam and said, "Let's not talk about this today. I love you, Adam, I really love you!"

After hearing this, Adam said, "I love you too, Christine!" Then he gave Christine a very gentle kiss.

Their lips parted, Christine's eyes brimming with desire, and she whispered, "Carry me to bed, Adam, I'm going to be your bride tonight!"

With Christine saying all that, how could Adam remain unmoved? He grabbed Christine around the waist and, while passionately kissing her, led her to the bed scattered with rose petals. Adam and Christine fell onto the bed together, their movements becoming increasingly intense. Simple kisses and caresses were no longer enough for them. They hurriedly removed their clothes, revealing each other's most primal and beautiful selves.

A life melody, played by all humankind since ancient times, emanated from the bed, even causing the full moon in the sky to shyly hide behind the clouds.

The next morning, sunlight streamed through the window and fell on the two people who were still asleep, waking Adam from his sleep.

Adam opened his eyes and looked at the beauty still in his arms, feeling a surge of pleasure. It was arguably the most pleasurable experience he'd had besides his first time. This made him realize that his initial decision had been right; indeed, men need love.

Adam stroked Christine's face, his eyes filled with love. Christine, who had just been woken by Adam, witnessed this and was instantly filled with happiness. Happiness is that simple, isn't it? What could be happier than waking up each day to see the loving gaze of your loved one, feeling that there is someone in this world who cares about you and loves you?

Christine was captivated, lost in Adam's deep love, unwilling to wake up.

Seeing Christine's expression, Adam smiled slightly and said, "Silly girl, you're awake?"

Christine nodded and said, "Yes, I'm awake, but I don't want to wake up. I wish I could always see you as soon as I open my eyes."

Adam kissed Christine's forehead and said lovingly, "Of course you can. When you marry into our family, you'll be able to see me every day."

After hearing this, Christine murmured, "Marriage? It's so far away. I can't see that far ahead. I just hope to stay by your side as long as you still love me."

Adam said, "You silly little thing, don't think nonsense. Our good days are just beginning."

Christine hummed in agreement, closing her eyes to savor Adam's love, seemingly unwilling to get out of bed.

After reading this, Adam said, "Since you don't want to get up, I'll call the director and ask her to give the crew a day off. Then we can go out and explore properly. We haven't had a chance to properly see the beautiful scenery of this town since we came here."

After hearing this, Christine hesitated for a moment and said, "Is it really okay? Won't Director Alice be angry?"

Adam laughed and said, "She won't be angry, don't worry. You get some sleep first, I'll call her." After saying that, he got up and walked naked into the bathroom.

When Adam came out of the bathroom fully dressed, Christine was already asleep. Last night's events had been too intense, and given Adam's physical condition, Christine hadn't recovered yet. If Adam hadn't woken her up when he was touching her, she would have slept until noon.

Adam gently kissed Christine on the lips, then left the bedroom and went to Director Alice's bedroom, knocking on the door.

"Please come in!" came Director Alice's voice from inside the room.

Adam walked in upon hearing this and greeted her with a smile, "Hi, Alice, are you alright?"

Director Alice was reading the newspaper. She assumed the knocking was from the rest of the film crew and didn't see Adam come in. So when she heard Adam's voice, she realized he had already entered her bedroom.

"Adam, what brings you in here? Heh, shouldn't you be lying in Christine's bed this time?"

Adam awkwardly touched his nose and said, "Alice, well, I wanted to take Christine for a walk around the area today, so I came to ask you for leave."

Upon hearing this, Alice said helplessly, "Since the big boss has said so, how can I disagree? Okay, let's just give the crew a break too. They've been busy these past few days, let them get some rest."

Adam laughed and said, "Hehe, thank you so much."

After hearing this, Alice said seriously, "Adam, Christine's acting skills are improving very quickly. In a few years, she will definitely become an Oscar-winning actress. So if you're just playing around, you should let her leave as soon as possible. It's better for both of you."

Adam said very seriously, "Don't worry, Alice, I'm serious this time. I won't hurt Christine!"

Alice nodded and said, "Well, then I'm relieved. You know I don't have any children. After spending these days with her, I've grown to like Christine, this lively girl. Seeing her so sad these past few days really broke my heart, so I had to choose a similarly tragic story from the script for her to vent."

Adam was immediately grateful and said, "Thank you, Alice, thank you for taking care of Christine. Don't worry, I won't make her sad again."

Alice laughed upon hearing this, "Hehe, it's good that you have this determination. Alright, you don't need to keep this old woman company anymore, go and keep Christine company."

Upon hearing this, Adam got up to say goodbye. Feeling a bit hungry, he left the villa and went to the supermarket he had visited before. After buying some of Christine's favorite foods, he returned to Christine's bedroom.

Chapter Forty: An Encounter in the Forest

When Adam returned, Christine was still asleep. Adam brought breakfast to the bedroom and shook Christine to wake her up.

Christine groggily opened her eyes, saw Adam, smiled sweetly, and said, "Darling!"

After hearing this, Adam sat down next to Christine and said, "Alright, lazybones, get up and wash up. After breakfast, let's go out for a walk. I heard there's a very spectacular dam nearby. Let's go check it out."

Christine nodded and said coquettishly, "Okay then, but I need to eat something first. I have no energy left, so I need you to feed me!"

Adam smiled and said, "Okay, I'll feed you!" He then brought over breakfast and fed it to Christine little by little.

They ate their meager breakfast for about an hour, after which Adam carried Christine to the bathroom. Since it was Christine's first time yesterday, Adam didn't do anything in the bathroom. He simply cleaned himself up and then wrapped himself in a towel before leaving the bathroom.

Soon, Adam and Christine, dressed neatly, came out of the room. The rest of the crew looked at the two with great interest, and some people offered their blessings to the couple.

Adam didn't know how many of these people were sincere and how many were feigning, but none of that mattered to him. So he smiled slightly in return and left the villa with Christine.

That day, Adam took Christine to many places, leaving their mark in those places. Christine felt happier than ever before, her face beaming with joy the entire way.

Around 3 PM, Adam and Christine left a forest and drove towards their final destination—Lake Alkari. It's a natural scenic area, but not many people come here now because it's very cold in winter! Aside from couples or a few enthusiasts, there aren't many tourists.

However, it was precisely because there weren't many people that the tranquil environment, blue sky, and pure air gave Adam and Christine a feeling of returning to their mother's embrace.

Adam looked around and said, "Perhaps we could consider buying a house here. I've fallen in love with the scenery."

Christine took a deep breath and said, "It is indeed very beautiful here, but unfortunately we are a bit late. It is too cold here."

Hearing Christine's words, Adam draped his trench coat over her shoulders and said, "Since you feel cold, let's go back. After all, we've seen everything we needed to see."

Christine nodded and said, "Okay, let's go back. Thank you, Adam, I had a really great day!"

Adam shook his head and said, "Silly boy, why are you being so polite between us? You don't need to thank me."

Christine squinted and said, "Hmm!"

Just then, Adam suddenly heard footsteps coming from a distance, so he paused for a moment.

After looking at it, Christine asked, "What's wrong?"

Adam used his super vision to see Logan walking quickly in the distance. Although he was a little puzzled, he knew that Logan had said he would go to Canada soon. He didn't expect to see him in Canada so soon.

"I saw a friend!"

Christine asked in confusion, "You saw your friend?"

Adam nodded and said, "Okay, sit in the car for a while, he'll be here soon, I saw him."

Christine looked around and said, "You have sharp eyes, I didn't see anything." Then she got into the car and returned the trench coat to Adam.

Although Adam wasn't bothered by the cold, he didn't want Christine to know about his unusual behavior, so he took the trench coat and stood outside the car waiting for Logan to arrive.

Soon, Logan came into view and saw Adam standing by the roadside. He immediately laughed and walked towards Adam.

Logan laughed, "Haha, you little rascal, I never expected we'd meet here."

Adam nodded and said, "Indeed, I didn't expect we'd meet so soon. So, has your investigation made any progress?"

Logan sighed upon hearing this and said, "No, I saw ruins there, but I didn't find the answer I needed."

Adam patted Logan on the shoulder and said, "Alright, don't be discouraged, we'll find someone eventually. By the way, let me introduce you to someone." He then waved to Christine, signaling her to come down.

As soon as Christine got out of the car, Adam pulled her into his arms and said, "This is my girlfriend, Christine, you've met her before!"

Logan laughed and said, "Hello, my name is Logan, you can also call me Wolverine."

Christine smiled and shook hands with Logan, saying, "Logan, hello, I'm Christine."

Logan laughed after hearing this, "I know, Adam mentioned it to me last time, saying he thought he was in love. Haha, I didn't expect you two to actually get together, congratulations."

Christine replied with a happy smile, "Thank you. Logan, by the way, what brings you here? Are you sightseeing?"

She noticed that Logan was only carrying a black backpack and nothing else, not even a means of transportation, making him look like a hiker.

Logan laughed after hearing this, "Yes, I have been traveling and to many places. That's how I met Adam."

Hearing Logan's words, Christine said with slight surprise, "Really?! That's amazing."

Adam glanced at Logan and laughed, "Alright, this isn't the place to talk. Let's go back."

Logan nodded and said, "Okay, I hope I didn't bother you."

Christine blushed slightly and said, "Oh, no, actually we're also planning to go back, because I have to start filming again tomorrow."

Adam said, "Alright, let's go then." He opened the car door, let Christine sit down, and then got in himself.

When Logan got into the car, it noticeably lurched. Christine also noticed this, and Adam quickly said, "Let's go!" Then he started the car and drove away.

After driving for about one or two hours, Adam and his team finally returned to the town before dinner and arrived at the villa that the film crew had booked, along with Logan.

Upon arriving at the villa, Christine got out of the car and said, "Adam, you and Logan have something to discuss, so I'll head back now. I have a movie shoot tomorrow, so I won't keep you company."

What could Adam say to such an obedient girl? He got out of the car, kissed Christine, and said, "Okay, Christine, go back and get some rest. Logan and I do have some things to discuss. I'll let you know when the time is right."

Christine smiled and said, "Yes, I'll be waiting for that day. Goodnight, darling."

Adam nodded and said, "That day will come, Christine. Goodnight." Then he got back into his car.

In the car, Logan watched Christine's retreating figure and said, "You're lucky, Adam, she's a good girl!"

Adam laughed and said, "Yeah, I think so too. How about it, let's drink until we drop?"

Logan nodded and said, "That's right, we won't leave until we're drunk!"

Upon hearing this, Adam drove to the bar, the one where the party was held last time, ordered a few bottles of wine, and went to a quiet private room to sit down.

Adam asked, "What's Xavier's like? I've only heard of it before, but I've never been there."

Logan, recalling the peaceful life there, laughed and said, "It really is a good place!"

Logan suddenly wanted to go back, not only because life there made him feel comfortable, but also because there was someone at X School who could directly read his memories and tell him what he wanted to know.

Chapter 41 The Conspiracy Reappears
