Adam interrupted her rudely, saying, "Just call it S.H.I.E.L.D., because the abbreviation of each letter spells out this. Your old name was just too long and a mouthful."

Maria Hill paused for a moment, then said, "We'll consider it."

Phoenix frowned and said, "You want to arrest Magneto?"

Maria Hill nodded and said, "He almost started a war between humans and mutants this time. We must arrest him and put him in our own prison! Otherwise, we can't explain it to the public. This matter can no longer be hidden."

Laser Eyes said coldly, "Then can you guarantee that he won't be subjected to mutant experiments by your researchers?"

Maria Hill knew this was the X-Men's bottom line, so she nodded and said, "We promise that this won't happen!"

Cyclops thought for a moment and said, "Alright, we agree. Remember your promise, or you will turn us against you!"

Maria Hill said coldly, "Don't worry, we keep our word!"

Seeing that he was alright, Adam said, "Alright, you guys chat as you like, I'll go over there and give them some support!" Before Maria Hill could say anything, he vanished in a flash.

Seeing that Logan could not be delayed any longer, Phoenix and the others said goodbye, "Then we'll head back now. Magneto is in your hands. The Professor will visit him in a few days." After saying that, she and Cyclops and the others flew away in their fighter jet.

Maria Hill's face was extremely grim. Being threatened by mutants several times as an international-level unit had already pushed her anger to a certain point. If this were a game, she might have already unleashed several of her ultimate moves.

She coldly ordered the agents beside her, "Hurry! Transfer Magneto to a special prison, otherwise, if his powers are restored, everything we've done will be in vain!"

Seeing that her head looked unwell, her subordinates quickly administered an injection to Magneto as instructed. They then took Magneto back to the speedboat and, led by Maria Hill, left Liberty Island, heading directly to a fully plastic prison that S.H.I.E.L.D. had specially constructed in the New York Military District.

Meanwhile, Adam had arrived at Ellis Island. Seeing the S.H.I.E.L.D. special forces firing at civilians without hesitation, he curled his lip in disgust and instantly took action, taking down all the S.H.I.E.L.D. special forces soldiers and the mutant civilians who had come to attack Ellis Island in just over ten minutes.

Adam's actions angered Nick Fury, who was in the command center. Fury ran out of the command center and shouted at Adam, "Hey, Mr. Shadow, what are you doing? Do you want to start a war with the United States?"

Adam coldly replied, "Don't jump to conclusions and label me. I wouldn't dare fight the United States alone!"

Nick Fury pointed to the special forces soldier lying on the ground, groaning in pain, and asked, "So what's going on with all this?"

Adam stared at Nick Fury and said, "You're asking me what's going on? Don't tell me you don't know these mutants are being controlled. Why are you letting them attack mutants at will?!"

Upon hearing this, Nick Fury retorted sarcastically, "Are you suggesting that my soldiers risk their lives to wake up these mutants?"

Adam scoffed, "Is there no other way besides killing? Don't you have rubber bullets? Why aren't you using them? Where's the tear gas? Huh?"

Nick Fury retorted angrily, "You?! You're trying to teach me how to lead an army? Ah, kid, I was already fighting on the battlefield when you were still in your mother's womb. I don't need you to teach me!"

Adam shook his head and said, "No, I'm not teaching you how to lead troops, I'm teaching you how to be a human being! Alright, I don't want to talk to you, the head of the intelligence agency. I know your men have infiltrated the organization that controls them. You'd better bring your men back quickly, or you might end up seeing their corpses!" With that, he vanished in a flash, leaving behind a furious Nick Fury cursing incessantly.

Several days passed, and all the media outlets reported on the events on Ellis Island. Just then, Senator Kelly, the initiator and staunch supporter of the bill, suddenly issued a statement saying that he was abandoning the bill and apologizing to the mutants. Thus, this grand affair came to an abrupt end.

Adam sat at home reading the report, frowning, and said, "Hmm? Something seems off about this person."

Athena, sitting next to Adam, heard his words and said, "Oh, he must be Mystique in disguise. I just saw a flash of gold in his eyes. I can't believe he managed to escape right under your nose."

Adam shrugged and said, "What else do you want me to do? Kill her? Besides, I was in a hurry at the time and didn't pay attention to the policeman lying outside, but it doesn't matter."

Athena nodded and said, "That's true. It wouldn't have been canceled if it weren't for her."

Adam watched Mystique leave the scene without a trace and chuckled, "Heh, this woman is really wasting her talent. If she went to Hollywood, she would probably become a world-class movie star."

Chapter Thirty-Eight: Visiting the Set

Adam and Athena were watching the news at home when they saw Mystique transform into Senator Kelly and say she was giving up.

Adam smiled after hearing this and said, "This Mystique is really wasting her talent by not becoming a star in Hollywood."

Athena said, "Speaking of celebrities, Master, you haven't called Miss Christine for five days. You really are just playing around."

Adam was startled and said, "Oh, it's been that long? Damn it, I'll call right now!" He then picked up his phone and called Christine.

The person who answered the phone was Christine's assistant, Ms. Emma. She told Adam, "Mr. Adam, Ms. Christine is currently filming and cannot answer the phone at the moment."

After hearing this, Adam said, "Oh, is that so? Okay, don't tell Christine I made the call yet. It's best to delete the call log." Then he hung up.

Athena found this strange and asked, "Hey, Master, why didn't you let Emma tell Christine that you called?"

Adam laughed and said, "I've decided to give Christine a surprise!"

After hearing this, Athena said, "Oh, so Master wants to visit the set."

Adam nodded and said, "Well, now that things here are temporarily settled, and we still don't have any leads on that damn organization for the time being, I should be fine taking a few days off. Besides, I feel very reassured having you here."

Athena understood: "Alright, in that case, I'll book you a ticket right away."

Adam smiled and said, "Yes, thank you, Athena."

Athena curled her lip and said, "If you want to thank me, then investigate together. Humph, saying 'You're a computer, you won't get tired' and dumping everything on me while you go chasing girls. Master, I despise you!"

Adam feigned sadness and said, "Oh? I was actually looked down upon by a computer, boohoo."

Athena glanced at it and said calmly, "Master, I've recorded your expression."

Upon hearing this, Adam cried out, "Athena, delete it!"

Athena chuckled and said, "Go ahead and delete it yourself if you dare, hehe! I've booked your plane ticket, and I also ordered 999 roses and a car for you from a florist near the Canadian airport. Don't thank me too much, okay? I'm off!" Then she disappeared.

Adam smiled after reading it, went back to take a shower, change his clothes, and after he was dressed, his expression turned serious. He said solemnly, "Alright, Athena, I'm leaving now. In the next few days, expand the search to the entire United States and see if you find anything."

Hearing Adam speak so seriously, Athena appeared in a flash and said, "Yes, I understand, Master, don't worry!"

Adam smiled and said, "Well then, goodbye, Athena."

Athena waved and said, "Goodbye, Master!" Then she disappeared again.

After leaving home, Adam called Tony and the others to tell them he was going to Canada and not to worry, and then went to the airport.

Just then, his phone rang.

"Hey Adam, it's me, Logan!"

Adam laughed and said, "Hehe, you're recovering pretty quickly."

Logan said, "Hehe, you know, by the way, I called to ask you to have a drink, because I'm going to Canada in a few days."

Adam was taken aback for a moment and said, "Um, actually I'm also planning to go to Canada. I'm at the airport right now."

After hearing this, Luo Ge said, "Oh? What a coincidence. Well, I'll call you again after I'm done with my business over there. I have some things to investigate in the Rocky Mountains."

Adam asked, "Is there anything I can help you with?"

Logan shook his head and declined, saying, "No need, I'll call you when I need to."

Adam nodded and said, "Okay, then I'll wait for you over there. We'll drink until we drop!"

Logan laughed and said, "Yeah, let's drink until we drop!" Then he hung up the phone.

After Adam hung up the phone, he realized it was time to board. He stood up and walked to the gate, and after several hours of flight, he arrived safely in a city in Alberta, Canada.

Adam left the airport, picked up the car and roses he had ordered, and then sped off to the town where Dawn Film Company was filming. After a long journey, he finally returned to the villa in the evening and met the staff he had contacted beforehand.

Adam asked, "They haven't come back yet, have they?"

The person who came to pick up Adam was a staff member sent by Dawn Corporation. He respectfully said, "Not yet, Mr. Stark. They won't be back for another half hour."

Adam breathed a sigh of relief and said, "Alright, in that case, do me a favor and hide this car well, and don't tell anyone that I've arrived."

“Yes, Mr. Stark!” he said, and drove Adam’s car away.

Adam, carrying the roses, went to Christine's bedroom and quickly arranged them at super speed. Soon, more than 999 roses were arranged in a heart shape on Christine's bed. Adam looked at his masterpiece with satisfaction, then left Christine's bedroom, left the villa, and went to the city to buy many things.

Adam's super speed worked its magic once again. When Adam returned to the villa after shopping, there were still a dozen minutes left before the film crew arrived. However, this was more than enough time for Adam. He busied himself setting out all sorts of dishes on the dining table in the room, followed by a dozen bright red candles, chilled red wine, and soft piano music. Adam had just prepared a candlelight dinner. Now, only the other main character had not yet arrived.

Soon, Adam heard voices below; the film crew was returning from shooting today's scenes. Adam stayed in his room, quietly waiting for Christine's return, preparing to surprise her!

Downstairs, Director Alice smiled and said to Christine, "Very good, Christine, you performed very well today. You brought out some of Bella's details very vividly. Your acting skills have improved."

Christine was feeling uneasy and sad because she hadn't received a call from Adam. Unexpectedly, this coincided with the scene she was filming today, and therefore she didn't receive any criticism from the director.

Christine felt a pang of bitterness in her heart, but said calmly, "Thank you, Director. You've had a long day, so please rest. I'll go back and remove my makeup."

Director Alice replied, "Oh, alright then, go ahead and get some rest. Keep up this level, and you'll definitely win an award this year."

Christine said, "Yes, thank you for your blessing, Director." After saying that, she left the first floor and returned to her bedroom.

Back in her bedroom, Christine didn't see the sumptuous dinner on the table because the light wasn't on yet. She groped her way back to her bedroom in the dark, turned on the light with a snap, and immediately saw the roses placed on the bed.

All of Christine's grievances vanished instantly, and she cried out, "Adam, is he yours?"

Christine was embraced from behind by a pair of strong arms, and with a tingling sensation in her ear, she heard the sounds of her thoughts and dreams.

"Silly girl, did you miss me?"

Christine nodded repeatedly, saying, "I miss you! I dream about you, I miss you while filming, I even miss you while taking a shower!!! Why didn't you call me? Have you forgotten about me!"

Upon hearing Christine's affectionate words, Adam couldn't hold back any longer and expressed his feelings through his actions.

After a long kiss, Christine, panting, asked, "Adam, what brings you here?"

Adam laughed and said, "I came here to surprise you! Hehe, silly girl, I've been a bit busy these past few days, so I really didn't have time to call you. I was afraid you'd misunderstand and get upset, so I came to give you a surprise and also to punish you, you silly girl who loves to overthink."

Christine hugged Adam, her eyes filled with desire, and said, "You can punish me however you want! I'm giving myself to you tonight, I don't want to wait any longer!!! Adam, I love you so much! I don't want to live in anxiety like this anymore!"

Chapter Thirty-Nine: Tenderness

Hearing Christine's words, Adam, who hadn't had a nightlife lately, was instantly tempted, but he knew now wasn't the time to talk about it, so he gently kissed Christine.

"Since you've put it that way, I won't let you off the hook today. But let's go get something to eat first. I've personally cooked for you today, you know."

Christine blushed a little after saying that. She nodded when she heard Adam's words and said, "Okay, wait for me for a while, I'll go wash up."

Adam nodded and said, "Okay, I'll wait for you!" He then walked out of the bedroom, went to the small living room, lit the candles on the dining table, and sat down to wait for Christine.

About half an hour later, Christine finally came out of the inner room, which made Adam, who was sitting in the chair, light up and immediately smile. Christine was wearing a black evening dress, and it seemed that she was not wearing any underwear underneath. The two points that were faintly visible made Adam's hormones surge instantly.

Adam stood up, walked up to Christine, stroked her soft hair, and said, "Baby, you're so beautiful!"

Christine smiled and said, "Really?"

Adam nodded and said, “God and the moon are my witnesses!” Then he led Christine to the table.

Christine looked at the delicious food on the table and asked in surprise, "Did you make all of this yourself?"

Adam said, "Of course, come on, have a taste. You work very hard making movies too."

Adam's cooking was delicious, and the two of them finished their dinner, taking turns eating bites.
