"What happened? Why is Professor William so happy?"
Sirius glanced at the soup, then noticed his own strange hairstyle, and wasn't in a good mood.
All I know is that he received a letter.
Lupin responded while wearing a wig—he deliberately didn't style his hair back to its normal state to appease Sirius.
"He's so mysterious; I wonder what the effects of his potion are, or how the process is going..."
Sirius leaned back in his chair, bored, pondering all sorts of random things.
While he was wondering, William had already changed into a wizard's robe and came out. "Oh, I'm sorry, gentlemen, we need to have lunch soon. We have a grand banquet to attend this afternoon."
"banquet?"
Sirius jumped to his feet—he'd been feeling really stifled lately.
But the cold wind that blew when he stood up was quite chilly, which instantly woke him up.
"Going to a banquet like this?"
No…
William waved his wand, took Sirius's wig, and then used Transfiguration and his wand to adjust it, finally applying a layer of potion to the wig. "This way it won't look out of place when you put it on."
"But why didn't you come here sooner?"
After his hair was fully restored, Sirius Black seemed much more energetic, and he couldn't help but ask a question.
"The experiment is still ongoing, so this is for easy access."
This impeccable reason left Sirius speechless for a moment.
“You need to tidy yourself up too, Professor Lupin,” William said, looking at Lupin. “Your wig is rather odd…”
“Our guests are a bit anxious, so we have to hurry over… half an hour. Bring your wands and clothes that allow for easy movement—” William hesitated for a moment, but then continued, “After we pick up one person, we can go to the banquet.”
"Hey, Professor William, what about me?"
Mr. Belby was somewhat curious as he noticed that William hadn't made any arrangements for him.
"Please get the finished product out quickly. I think we can proceed to the next stage of the experiment around dinner time..."
William smiled, then placed a glass on the seat. "It will start in half an hour, and the target is our banquet hall..."
"The door key?"
"Yes, it's just been made..."
"Don't worry, I'll keep it a secret," Mr. Belby said with a serious expression.
"It's okay, I have authorization."
William spread his hands. "I'll go pick them up first. You can take your time packing..."
-
"banquet…"
Sirius hummed a little tune, his voice brimming with barely suppressed excitement, "I think it's going to be a fight! Who goes to a banquet in clothes like that, and then uses a key to the door..."
But it doesn't matter—he doesn't mind at all.
"Moon face?"
He noticed that Lupin didn't respond immediately, so he asked out of curiosity, only to find that Lupin's expression was a bit strange—neither anxious nor excited, but rather, if you had to describe it, it was like the naturalness of someone who had drunk Felix Felicis, yet not quite composed.
"what happened?"
"I just have a feeling that something important is about to happen..."
Lupin's face was full of a strange expression. "But I always felt that thing wasn't so bad..."
"Not being bad is a good thing..."
Sirius excitedly patted Lupin on the shoulder, and they looked in the mirror together—the wigs fit perfectly.
But this wasn't the happiest moment. When William Apparated back with Harry, Sirius was practically bursting with joy.
"Harry is going too?"
“Of course, of course. After all, the person we’re going to visit isn’t very friendly, so it’ll be good for Harry to see what’s going on—anyway, there’s no danger for him to go.”
Is that so?
A surge of joy welled up inside Lupin—though he didn’t know why he felt this joy.
He was somewhat skeptical of his guess, even though it was a bold one.
Where are we going?
Lupin showed a rare moment of unease—he somewhat hoped his thoughts were true, yet remained uncertain.
"Visiting a guest who is good at hiding himself."
William had them check their belongings and wands again, then added to the credit of another person, "I didn't expect it to be this fast, but I had made some arrangements in advance. Professor Moody has been helping us find that inhospitable host these past few days."
"Moody's here too? What about Dumbledore?"
“Dumbledore isn’t here,” William spread his hands—you can’t call Dumbledore for this kind of thing. “The few of us are enough, especially you, Professor Lupin.”
William walked over to Lupin and lowered his voice.
"Professor Moody has spotted him. If we go now, we can still launch a surprise attack..."
"The cleanup work is basically done, and the next step is to send the guys who need to be sent to Azkaban."
"However, the one you were tasked with dealing with could only fail, Professor Lupin."
"I know this is a heavy burden, but I still hope you can complete this task."
"I've arranged almost everything afterward, so he absolutely cannot stand trial alive, because our laws don't have the death penalty. If you can't do that, I'll finish him off..."
Lupin felt his heart racing. He had already guessed the name. Sure enough, he heard the name he had never been able to face.
“Hold him back, kill him, that guy—Fenrir Greyback.”
Chapter 577 Greyback's Last Day
"The full moon is almost here again..."
Fenrir Greyback awoke in his tent, feeling the wildness rising within him—a wildness he neither feared nor even enjoyed.
He climbed out of the makeshift bed made of wooden planks, stretched his limbs, and was quite satisfied with his current condition.
Which village will they attack next?
He squinted, calculating, and casually pulled a map from the bedside table, disdainfully avoiding the sliver of sunset shining through the tent's gaps, before inspecting the areas that weren't marked with an X.
He loved the full moon, even adored it—only at this time would his aggressive desires and powerful energy fully emerge, allowing him to attack wizard villages with impunity, ignoring their defenses, successfully turning wizard cubs into wolf cubs, or even abducting them.
How can he expand his tribe without a full moon?
Without a full moon, how could he inspire more people?
Without a full moon, how could he become the leader of the werewolves, command their awe and obedience, and then unite them to infect all the wizards?
Just as he was smugly thinking about his many years of achievements, the unruly setting sun stretched out long and bright, shining directly into his eyes—which made him irritable, and he shouted out towards the outside of the tent.
"Damn it, Pete, you forgot to seal my tent again!"
A terrified child ran over, his face pale and frightened. He was too scared to speak, so he just knelt on the ground, hurriedly pulled the tent shut, and then lowered his head, not daring to say a word.
"waste."
Graybuck stood up and kicked the tent hard—after a short scream, there was no more noise outside, only the tent, which had been kicked and was tilted slightly, was hurriedly straightened.
"You coward who dares not drink blood, you should be like that bastard Lupin, accepting the collar the Ministry of Magic puts on you, and then licking the boots of those big shots like a lapdog to make a living!"
He cursed at the outside of the tent in annoyance, but the more he cursed, the angrier he became.
That idiot Death Eater Umbridge and that tamed puppy Lupin are the two people he hates the most lately—the former passed a law related to werewolves, and the latter became the cover story of the Daily Prophet.
Both of these people caused a significant decrease in the number of werewolves who would come forward to acknowledge him as their leader and join him in attacking the wizard, which made him even more volatile than usual during that period.
It's true that Umbridge is dead, but Lupin is still alive and well, which makes him even more annoyed when Lupin is mentioned.
'Useless! Each and every one of them is utterly useless! Most of the tribesmen are petty thieves and good-for-nothings, and the few we've captured are of mixed quality—very few are even worthwhile!'
He sat down in the chair with a huff—which village did that bastard Pete kidnap again?
Why don't we go over there for a stroll during this full moon? Maybe we can catch that kid's younger brother or some other relative?
He thought with a touch of wicked humor, and couldn't help but reveal a cruel smile.
"Pete! My food!"
He shouted outside—another busy night was about to begin, and he was about to enjoy his meal.
The thin child carefully pushed open the tent flap, trying to shield himself from the setting sun to avoid further scolding. He struggled to keep his hands steady, placing the food on the table with a pale face—the kick had been too heavy, making even these simple actions difficult.
"Uh-huh?"
Greyback sniffed the liquid in the glass, then his expression changed. "Where's the blood? Where's the blood!"
"There's nothing fresh left..."
Pete answered with trepidation, only to be met with a violent slam that slammed down on him along with the tray.
“Go get a live chicken,” Graybury gasped—he’d felt like everything was working against him since he woke up, and he wanted to vent his frustration by killing one.
He liked it this way; the more ruthless he was, the more obedient the wolf cubs became.
-
“Welcome, Professor William,” Moody said, forcing a smile through his sparse lips after completing the routine identity check. “It seems you’ve come very well prepared.”
“Of course,” William put the potion back, “after all, the host here isn’t very hospitable.”
"They won't have a choice now."
Moody nodded, then saw Harry behind him. "Give him another lesson?"
"That's right—he's not a threat at all, and besides, there are still two days until the full moon..."
