Marvel: I am Iron Man

Chapter 71 Thor's Visit

"We meet again, man of steel!"

Thor stood in the doorway and waved to Tony.

Tony: "..."

He took a deep breath and asked, "Okay, you found me. How did you find me?"

"Heimdall," Thor said, "is my good brother. He has the All-Seeing Eye, which allows him to see everything that happens in every corner of the Nine Realms."

I asked him about your whereabouts, and then had him open the Rainbow Bridge to teleport me here.

Tony rubbed the bridge of his nose.

Okay, of course, Heimdall. What else could have caused him to be exposed?

Heimdall is the gatekeeper of Asgard and the guardian of the Rainbow Bridge. His eyes can see every person and every corner of the Nine Realms. There are no secrets in the Nine Realms before him.

So if Thor wants to find someone, he can ask Heimdall directly, since Heimdall is loyal to him.

When Thor says he wants to meet the valiant Iron Warrior he just met in Midgard, Heimdall will naturally teleport him here and tell Thor that the one controlling that suit of armor is the handsome little mustache you met not long ago.

"Excuse me, can we come inside and talk?" Thor tilted his head. "It feels weird standing here talking."

Tony sighed and stepped aside.

Although it disrupted his plans a bit, there was nothing wrong with talking to Thor.

As mentioned before, Thor is the main damage dealer of the Avengers and a powerful ally. More importantly, he's single-minded and the kind of person who's willing to go through fire and water for his friends—a truly trustworthy character.

It's not easy to find a center who is both strong and trustworthy.

Of course, another important point is also about magic.

The study of magic has always been an important part of Tony's plans. Thor can assist him in his research, and in addition, Thor is the only high-end magic-based fighter in the early Avengers—albeit a magic-based warrior.

Tony's research into magic is only at the very beginning. If any magical threat were to occur now, Thor would be his biggest trump card.

"Would you like something to drink?" Tony asked casually as he led him into the house.

Jarvis's voice rang out: "We have 1945 Romanée-Conti, Stark limited edition whisky, organic cold-pressed juice, or soda water..."

"Liquor. Good friends, of course, need liquor," Saul answered with a laugh without hesitation. "Give me something strong, the Sound of the Heavens."

This was clearly the name he gave Jarvis, because Jarvis's voice sounded like it came from outer space.

Tony said, "Just give me some soda."

He led Saul to sit down.

"Please make yourself at home. I haven't had any guests here in a long time." Tony took his glass and handed another glass of golden liquor to Thor.

"Okay, then..." Tony asked, "Yesterday you said you had urgent business to attend to back in Asgard..."

As he spoke, Saul had already gulped down his entire glass of wine, then wiped his mouth, smashed the glass on the floor with a loud "crack," and laughed heartily: "Another one!"

Tony: "..."

Thor noticed his strange look and asked innocently, "What? I really like it, another one... It's drinking etiquette in Asgard."

"...Fine, I don't need any more cups or people to clean up." Tony waved his hand dismissively. "Then prepare another cup for him, Old Jia."

Jarvis: "Yes, sir."

At the bar, a robotic arm was mixing drinks and handing the finished beverages to a small transport robot. The robot balanced a tray with glasses on its head and steadily drove towards them, looking rather comical.

Tony continued the previous topic: "So, going back to what we were saying... you said you had urgent business returning to Asgard, so how are things at home?"

At this point, Chris Hemsworth's expression darkened slightly.

"Loufi is right," he said.

Tony: "What?"

“Loki is right. About my brother, Loki,” Thor said in a low voice. “Loki really betrayed me. Because he wanted the throne, he saw me as an obstacle… I never thought of that. We grew up together, I thought we were brothers, we loved each other.”

Tony said, "That must have sounded really difficult. But you stopped him?"

"Yes, I tried to stop it, but... but..."

Thor seemed very sad and couldn't continue speaking. So he picked up a new glass of wine from the tray on the little robot's head, gulped it down in one go, and then smashed it to pieces on the floor with a "bang".

"Another cup, please!"

So the robot turned back and drove towards the bar.

"Where was I? Oh right... Loki, Loki broke my heart, and even more so my father's." Thor shook his head. "My father is still in the 'Odin's Sleep,' and nobody knows when he'll wake up..."

"Wait," Tony asked, "Is Odin still asleep?"

Thor nodded: "Yes. It's probably because none of us give him any peace of mind, and he's getting old. 'Odin's Slumber' is his way of resting and replenishing his divine power..."

Tony frowned.

The timeline continues to shift. Originally, at the end of Thor 1, Thor stopped Loki, destroyed the Bifrost, Odin awoke, and Loki fell off the Bifrost and drifted through space. But now, Odin hasn't woken up...

Oh, and the Rainbow Bridge wasn't broken either. Because it was quite obvious that Thor came to find him on the Rainbow Bridge.

"Where's your brother Loki?" Tony asked.

"Oh, I defeated him and exposed his plot. Now he's imprisoned in Asgard's dungeons, awaiting my father's judgment upon waking," Thor said.

Loki didn't fall off the Rainbow Bridge; instead, he was locked up in Asgard prison...

This is clearly because Thor has leveled up much earlier than in the original movie. The current Thor has reached the level of Thor: Ragnarok, and he also wields his Mjolnir.

Presumably, he quickly defeated Loki after returning, thus eliminating all the subsequent trouble.

In this way, Loki would not encounter Thanos, and the Battle of New York would be resolved before it even began.

Tony suddenly felt unsure whether this was a good thing or a bad thing.

“I’m upset,” Thor said. “Then I realized that my father is still asleep, and in a strict sense, my exile isn’t over. So now that the crisis in Asgard is over, I shouldn’t stay there.”

Besides, my days in Midgard have been quite interesting, and I've started to take an interest in this place. I think maybe I should come back and stay here a little longer. Then I thought of you, to come and meet the Iron Warriors of the mortal realm…”

"Tony, just call me Tony," Tony said.

It sounds weird to keep calling someone an "Iron Warrior".

"But do me a favor, don't tell anyone else," Tony said. "I don't want too many people knowing about my armor, understand?"

"Okay, sure." Thor readily agreed.

At this moment, Jarvis's voice rang out: "Sir, I apologize for interrupting your conversation, but you instructed me to inform you of some developments as soon as possible."

Tony: "What is it?"

"It's about Senator Sinter," Jarvis said. "Routine wiretapping of Senator Sinter has revealed that he may have recently had business dealings with a Hydra agent codenamed 'Viper.' Viper is a key figure on our radar..."

"Yes, because she seemed to want to kill me before. Thanks, Jarvis."

As Tony spoke, a sudden idea struck him, and he looked at Thor.

"Wait a minute, didn't you just say that your good buddy Heimdall can see every single person and every corner of the Nine Realms?"

Thor: "Yeah, that's right."

"That's great!" Tony's eyes lit up. "I'm looking for a woman named 'Viper.' She wants me dead, but I don't know where she is. Can you ask your buddy if he can find out where she is?"
