Chapter 51 New Intelligence

A group of people left.

David and Gates also left the camp. They were used to the life of wandering the streets and having no fixed abode. They had plenty of places to sleep, bathe, and eat. They joined the Beggars' Guild just for fun and wanted to find something serious to do.

In Dominic's words, even without subsidies and shopping vouchers, these two people live much better than most homeless people.

Because the two of them often go to ordinary communities to keep watch, they know very well the movements of every household in the community. If someone is away from home for a long time, or if they leave a message saying they are going on a trip, then the two of them will move in with their bags and enjoy a period of time with a house and a bed.

When the homeowner returns, they will clean up and leave early to move on to the next place to stay. They generally do not steal or cause damage.

I'm already very familiar with it.

They know the placement of items in the house even better than the homeowners themselves.

However, things can go wrong occasionally.

David has been arrested and detained for several days for trespassing many times, but he is not afraid. After all, he is still a minor, and even if he really commits a crime, he will have a chance to start over when he turns eighteen.

Gates, on the other hand, simply didn't know what to do and drifted through life on the streets. There were quite a few white girls like her, and all we could do was respect their personal choices.

In an instant, only a few people remained in the camp.

Simone didn't drink too much today, perhaps because she had something on her mind. After a deep conversation with Jason and Fitz, she was pondering how to proceed with her career, keeping herself clear-headed. Seeing that it was getting late, she said goodbye to the others and left.

"Okay, so it's just the few of us left."

Zhang Ailun looked at Blitzcrank, Dominic, and Sieg. He was also surprised that Blitzcrank hadn't gone to see Sarah off today.

"Don't you have to go to work tomorrow, Blitz?" Zhang Ailun asked.

"Of course I need to. I can't leave my job even for a day. If I want to escape homelessness, I need to earn money!"

Blitz said, "I guess we all have the same problem. It's really difficult to rent a place and get a permanent job just by doing entry-level work and earning a part-time hourly wage."

Even renting a motel room costs several hundred dollars a month, while his hourly wage is only $18. He works less than 40 hours a week, and he also has to go to the hospital to buy blood pressure medication to maintain his health, as well as pay off the bills owed on his Medicaid card.

It's basically impossible to save money there.

If things continue as they are, it's almost certain that there will be no hope of improvement.

"Although we would love to help you, it is clear that there is nothing we can do."

Zhang Ailun shrugged. Although he could gradually improve his life, buying a house and a car was still a long way off, and the money he earned was simply not enough.

He also needs to find a way to save money to get his offline identity sorted out.

The [Daily Intelligence] section is currently only rated E, so it doesn't offer much help.

The group chatted for a few more minutes, and seeing that it was getting late, they all went their separate ways.

I have to collect cans for work tomorrow.

……

[Daily Intelligence: Outstanding Southern Precinct Officer Miguel was attacked by a group of Black men during his administrative leave. He was seriously injured in the altercation and remains unconscious, his life in imminent danger. He is hiding under the No. 4 arch of the Kakin Bridge in Fifth Street. Details: The main members who planned this revenge attack are family members of Atlanta, the Black man shot and killed by Officer Miguel. —Long press to download the video; video source verifiable.]

The next morning.

Zhang Ailun was awakened by the notification sound of the "Daily Intelligence" message. He groggily took out his phone and glanced at it.

I was immediately taken aback.

Officer Miguel was actually retaliated against by a black man?

It's worth it!

These old black men are really bold.

Zhang Ailun downloaded the video and took a look. The picture was very clear, as if someone was hiding next to him with a phone and recording it. It was basically from the perspective of a passerby.

The time displayed in the upper right corner of the phone was around 4 a.m. Miguel had just finished a dinner with the California Police Department union, thanking the union for once again helping him resolve his troubles. He was drunk and, on his way home on foot, was unfortunately attacked by several black men. He was outnumbered and had no gun, so he was seriously injured and left in a bridge hole by the attackers.

This is definitely not a safe place to walk at night!! A few black men suddenly appeared out of nowhere in the middle of the night, like a ghost. When they hit Officer Miguel with a baseball bat, they accidentally hit him on the back of the head, mistakenly thought he was dead, dumped the body, and ran away in a panic.

Who would have thought that Officer Miguel would be so resilient, managing to hold on until now?

Saving one life is better than building a seven-level pagoda.

The West Coast can't be without MiG officers!!

[Daily News: A 20-year-old 1976 GMC hiking van, parked in the suburbs, is being sold for a low price of $200 at Mike's Scrapyard. Details: Someone at Old Pick Auto Repair Shop can fix it.]

Mike's Recycling Station's RV parked in the suburbs? A zombie van? Only $200? Are you sure?

What a coincidence!

I just got some information and industry knowledge from those car dealers yesterday, and today I unlocked a new map and valuable vehicle information.

Zhang Ailun took out his phone and searched for GMC hiking RVs, and found that a well-preserved RV costs at least $7000 to $10000!

If he could get his hands on this vehicle and find someone to maintain and repair it, wouldn't he no longer need to live in a tent?

Anything that appears in the daily news, unless it's something particularly outrageous, must have some value!

Zhang Ailun immediately decided to go to the car graveyard to take a look, but before that, he still had to rescue Officer Miguel. Just as Jason said, if you can't get on the good side of law enforcement, it will be difficult to do any business. The best way is to go along with them!

Being able to establish connections with the police would be beneficial to the development of the beggars' gang's influence on the streets.

At least the average gang's little karami wouldn't dare to mess with them.

After careful consideration, Zhang Ailun also chose to entrust this important task to Dominic and Sieg.

After all, Sig and Officer Mig had met before, and both sides must have remembered each other. As the second-in-command of the Beggars' Guild, Dominic was also able to deal with him.

He decided to just observe as a passerby, after all, he hadn't forgotten that he was still a completely undocumented person, and it wouldn't be easy to explain his identity to the police officers. What if they suddenly decided to investigate him?

[Daily News: The Sanji Bar at 66 Meiji Street will have a striptease show starting at 10 PM tonight. A customer will lose a Hamilton Jazz Slim Mechanical Watch. Details: Old Mike, who has a past relationship with you, will get into a conflict with a customer after finding the watch. The local gang intervenes, resulting in a violent bloodshed that leaves 2 dead and 16 injured.]

Hamilton mechanical watch?

Thank goodness, if it weren't for the information that followed, Zhang Ailun might have actually planned to charge straight in!

Another day of seeking good fortune and avoiding misfortune.

Zhang Ailun got up, quickly washed up, and went out to wake up Sieg.

When they arrived, they found the tent empty; the people inside were already up.

Not bad! Another spiritual vagabond.

After having stable accommodation and food, the other party adjusted his condition quite well, and has returned to the tough style and regular routine he had during his enlistment. He has shown some military bearing, and at least he is no longer sleeping in.

Zhang Ailun had no choice but to call Dominic first, forcing him to power on from sleep.
