Chapter 50 Necromancer
Chapter 50 The Necromancer (Part Two)
"Master, you're amazing! You took care of both of them by yourself!" Lauren ran over from the darkness.
He started flattering her the moment they met.
Lynn remained silent.
Lauren thought her owner was angry, so she quickly apologized. She had secretly circled around and was just about to launch a sneak attack from behind, but who knew the enemy would surrender!
That's so spineless!
"It's nothing," Lynn waved her hand.
The scene just now only made him, the instigator, feel a little heavy-hearted; he'll probably feel better in a while.
He bent down and picked up the gray soul bead from the ground.
Judging from the final actions of the Frankenstein monster, it may have regained some of its memories from its previous life, or it may still have some of its obsessions from that life, but none of that matters anymore; everything has vanished.
Soul beads are a kind of crystallized soul that records memories.
The picker can repeatedly read the memories within, just like recalling them, but like memories, the more frequently they are recalled and the more often they are used, the more incomplete the memories within become.
Lynn walked to the table and found a lot of draft paper on it, and some ground materials were sorted and stored in glass or porcelain bottles.
After checking inside, I found that the blue king flower I needed had been ground into powder. That wasn't a big problem, as it saved me a step. I just hoped that the kid's skills weren't too bad and that he could grind it into a finer powder.
After careful observation, Lynn was very satisfied. The blue king flowers were ground very finely, and the amount was enough for him to make at least twenty bottles of mutated mental energy recovery potion.
With this potion, I will have "blue potion" from now on.
He took good care of these experimental instruments.
Lynn consciously avoided this area when he cast his spell, and Roger also avoided this area.
The two wizard apprentices were still on the same page when it came to protecting the experimental equipment. There was a set of special grinding tools on the table, and Lynn picked up the grinding rod, which was made of some kind of white bone.
Lynn sat down and asked Lauren to keep an eye on her surroundings.
Then place the Soul Bead between your eyebrows.
A ticklish sensation arose between my eyebrows.
Images flashed through my mind like scenes from a movie on a big screen, and everything before my eyes felt so real.
Like fleeting shadows, Lynn finally finished reading all the memories. There weren't many memories about Roger's life, perhaps because he just wanted to bury those memories with him in the dust. All that remained were various kinds of inheritance.
Lynn took out a piece of paper and copied down what Roger remembered.
Rogge's lineage is relatively complete and not overly complicated.
It can be confirmed that it was passed down from a necromancer.
This necromancer is a level three wizard apprentice.
He has mastered a total of 17 recipes, as well as a large amount of knowledge related to necromancy, some knowledge of crafting undead creatures, and a total of eleven spells.
The plague created from it originated from one of the recipes—Rotting Rat Plague Powder.
The Rotten Rat is a mutated rat bred through a method of raising Gu poison. It contains infectious toxins and, after being formulated, eventually evolves into a plague that can spread on a large scale.
Through a few scattered fragments of memory, Lynn also understood why Rogge created the plague.
When his mother went to a northern city to purchase medicinal herbs, a member of a noble family coveted her wealth and murdered her to steal it.
All his money was looted, his mother was killed while trying to protect the property, and he was also seriously injured. He and his mother's bodies were thrown into a mass grave while he was on the verge of death. He unintentionally inherited the legacy of this necromancer, and in order to survive, he transformed into his current form.
In retaliation, he created a plague and released it into the marquis's territory, but he waited a long time without receiving news of the marquis's death.
Later, after making inquiries, it was learned that there were also some beings with extraordinary powers in these noble territories. The plague killed many of the marquis's subjects, but it was impossible to kill the marquis.
So he started creating undead creatures again, but while these undead creatures were good at dealing with ordinary people, they were still not enough to rush into a marquis's territory and kill a marquis.
Later, another nobleman who had always been at odds with the marquis found him privately through subtle clues and began to cooperate with him.
Much of the important information was given to him by the nobleman he was working with.
"That idiot, I have a feeling he's being used." Lynn shook his head.
This Rogue is a hapless fellow obsessed with revenge. He has been working on revenge all these years and hasn't even had time to make a single magical artifact from his memories.
I basically spend most of my time learning knowledge and making plague potions and undead creatures.
As for spells, Rogue only learned three: Dark Energy Ray, Dark Light, and Organ Preservation. Rogue meditated for three years, but his mental strength could only support him to cast five spells in a short period of time. In addition, it takes almost a month to learn one spell, so he simply stopped learning after learning three spells. After all, a single Dark Energy Ray is enough to kill an ordinary person.
Aside from these memories, there really wasn't much valuable loot.
He recalled everything he saw and heard along the way, including the stitched-together monster he had encountered in the village when he migrated south.
All of this indicates that Rogge's experimental results were not used against the enemy by the nobleman who collaborated with him, but were used for other purposes.
It's even impossible to determine whether the supposed hostile relationship between the marquis and the nobleman he was collaborating with was genuine or not.
Lynn packed up the entire experimental table that had been placed in the center of the empty hall and put it into the alchemy laboratory.
Then he placed the undead materials that Rogue had stored in several caves in the dungeon into the alchemy laboratory.
There were just some things Lynn simply couldn't accept.
For example, look at this deep pit in front of you, emitting a strong stench, where hundreds of filthy, wet, and enormous rats live.
Each mouse was larger than a normal mouse.
Besides the live rats, there were hundreds of times more dead rats. Many rats had exposed white bones, and rotting maggots were wriggling inside their flesh.
Lynn looked away.
If he were to put these things into the alchemy lab, the lab would probably become unusable.
With his remaining mental energy, he threw two minor fireballs, burning the rats in the pit to ashes.
Rogge also left fourteen tubes of rat plague powder; it wouldn't matter if he didn't have the rats.
Anyway, if large-scale cultivation is really needed, the cultivation methods are memorized.
After leaving the dungeon, Lynn returned home.
First, I'll meditate to restore my mental energy. I used up a lot of mental energy tonight, but fortunately, through this period of meditation and daily routine, Lynn's mental energy has improved considerably.
After a night of meditation, Lynn was pleasantly surprised to find that his mental energy seemed to have become more solid. After his mental energy recovered, Lynn took out an oil lamp, lit it, placed it on the table, and buried his head in copying the contents of the Soul Pearl.
If you can't remember something, use the Soul Bead to review it again and continue copying it. The Soul Bead can only be used a limited number of times, so take advantage of the time you can memorize as much as possible and copy down all the knowledge inside. Start by copying down the shortest but most important recipes.
When dawn broke, Lynn extinguished the oil lamp and drew back the curtains to let the sunlight stream in.
"Phew," Lynn shook his hand, feeling a little sore.
But he had to memorize as much of the content as possible, mainly the eleven spells that Rogue had memorized. Of these eleven spells, apart from one first-level spell, the remaining ten were all zero-level spells. Except for the Sleeping Curse, none of them were ones that he had collected.
Even Lynn was a bit overwhelmed by so many spells; it would take him a long time to learn them all.
As for that first-level spell, it requires more than four hundred nodes.
Lynn felt a chill run down his spine after just one glance; the complexity of its construction far surpassed that of a zero-ring spell.
