Chapter 38 Changes (Part Two)

After reading the message, Lynn put it back in the bottle, strolled to the beach, remained silent for a moment, and then threw the bottle into the sea.

"Let it go where it's meant to go."

Under the cover of night, the cold seawater pounded against the rocks, and the waves swept away the drifting bottles.

In the distance, at the dock, the lighthouse glows faintly in the morning light.

Lynn stood in the cold wind for a long time, while Lauren stood next to Lynn without saying a word.

Lauren's eyes dimmed; he suddenly missed his wife.

Having been here for so long without finding his wife, he was very worried that something might have happened to her.

He was afraid that all he would receive was bad news.

He used to be just a baker, struggling to make ends meet. His wife never had a good life and was eventually forced to leave their hometown with him.

He remembered that his wife was most afraid of the dark. Without him by her side, would she think of him when she was scared at night?

After returning home, Lynn immediately went into the alchemy lab.

Lynn glanced at the little gray rabbit locked in the cage. The little gray rabbit was still lying in the corner with its back to him, but he could tell from the slight undulation of its back that it was alive.

I sat cross-legged on the bed to begin today's meditation.

After the meditation ended, although he hadn't managed to condense a new Earth Ring, Lynn felt it was about right, and he could probably add another Earth Ring by tomorrow at most.

"So this is what alchemy means."

With no books to read and plenty of free time, Lynn began reading alchemy books.

After all, no wizard can resist an entire bookshelf of books; if one could, give him a library he's never seen before.

Lynn finished reading the book that recorded alchemy, and thus opened the door to the art of alchemy.

Alchemy is essentially a discipline that involves the transformation of matter.

Creating alchemical golems and combining metal with flesh are just derivatives of alchemy.

The core concept of alchemy is the transformation of matter.

Simply put, it's about creating more powerful substances through alchemy. It's the cornerstone of many wizarding disciplines, a true cornerstone!

Because many wizards' ingenious ideas require the support of alchemy.

Lynn saw the arrogance of alchemists in the texts of alchemy books.

"There are always some stupid groundhogs who think that all we alchemists can do is make puppets. Good heavens, what kind of wizarding history is this? They still have such outdated ideas. I really wonder if the wizard's mother left his brain at home when she gave birth to him."

"Making puppets is merely a trivial extension of our noble alchemy skills. Without us alchemists, all the other wizards would be out in the primeval forests grinding bones!"

"If any young wizards can see this, remember this well: don't be like those who play with bloodlines and mess with corpses every day. Otherwise, you never know when you'll grow a dozen hands and hundreds of eyes. No witch will like that kind of weirdo."

Lynn couldn't help but think of materials science. Alchemy and materials science are very similar, but the scope of alchemy is not limited to materials.

Hmm.

It seems that the wizard who wrote this book harbored great malice towards bloodline wizards.

If half of this book is about alchemy, the other half is about criticizing bloodline wizards.

After reading all night, a somewhat tired Lynn put down the book in his hand, opened the attribute panel, and as expected, Lynn noticed that an Alchemy branch had appeared after his life profession, with exactly one percent progress.

Ok?

Lynn turned to look at the cage.

Out of the corner of her eye, Lynn noticed that something was wrong with the cage.

At first glance, the cage looked like it was overgrown with weeds.

The cage was completely filled with a dense mass of fur, like a giant ball of fluff.

Lynn walked over and gently grabbed a handful.

A tuft of hair immediately appeared in his hand.

Is this rabbit fur?

Lynn hesitated for a moment, then opened the iron cage. The thick tuft of fur inside moved slightly. Lynn narrowed his eyes and extended a finger.

The seemingly fluffy down was punctured with a hole.

The rabbit was covered in fur, and even the entire finger couldn't be inserted completely.

After being poked by Lynn, the timid fellow hopped around, searching for a place to hide on the table.

"Is this...hair disease?" Lynn wasn't sure.

But what is certain is that this gray rabbit must have undergone some kind of mutation, resulting in excessive hair growth.

Hmm.

What is the use of this mutated gene that causes rapid hair growth? Is it for making hair growth products?

There are quite a few middle-aged men whose hair is thinning rapidly, which could be a good way to make money.

However, extracting mutated genes is not easy, and the current laboratory environment is not yet sufficient to support him in completing this level of experimentation.

Lynn played with the little rabbit for a while and learned that the reagent she made was useful, which put Lynn in a good mood.

After the Dybala incident, Lynn finally got the peaceful life she wanted, spending her time meditating and reading.

"The recovery is not going well. His eyeball has been damaged. At most, we can only disinfect the wound to prevent infection." The doctor removed the gauze and replaced it with a new one for Dempsey.

"Uncle Dempsey." The blonde girl standing by the window looked worried.

"Miss Antina, you don't need to blame yourself. As a knight, I was already prepared to sacrifice myself. Besides, I only lost one eye. I still have one eye to see," Demps said with a strong voice.

"Antina, your safety is the most important thing. Not only me, but also your father, your grandmother, and your family have high expectations for you," Dempsey said earnestly.

Antina bit her lip, her eyes darting away.

She doesn't like the feeling of being expected of by many people; it puts a lot of pressure on her.

From the time she was five years old, when her family's magic crystal ball detected that she had the aptitude to be a wizard, she became her father's most beloved daughter, even though her brothers did not have the same status in the family.

They had recently arrived in Bangor and, according to custom, visited the home of a local nobleman.

Upon learning of her identity, the local viscount of Bangor Port hosted a grand banquet, inviting the local mayor and high-ranking officials.

Just as the banquet was about to end, a sudden thick fog enveloped the manor, and a ghostly figure burst through a window and rushed in.

The figure possessed immense strength, and the viscount's head was ripped off right before her eyes.

After killing the Viscount, she became the second target of the attack. To protect herself, Uncle Demps fought the monster and managed to drive it away, but he also injured one of her eyes.

Although the Borent family was sincere and offered substantial compensation, she preferred to use that money to save Uncle Demps' health.

"Antina, the Borent family is here again. They've invited us to search for our ancestors' treasure," Dolores said to Antina as she walked in from outside.

"No need, I'm not interested in their treasure," Antina replied coldly.

Dolores nodded, agreeing with Antina's decision. The Borent family clearly had ill intentions; even she could tell they invited them only to act as bodyguards. That day, the humanoid monster could move in water, and they couldn't catch it at all when it jumped in.

"Miss, there are too many people at the manor. Our business in Bangor Port isn't very large, and the lavender fields on the outskirts can't accommodate too many employees. The butler is complaining that many of the refugees we've taken in don't know how to work and eat too much," Dolores said.

"Then let's not take in any more refugees for now," Antina said casually, then turned to look at Dempsey lying on the bed. "Uncle Dempsey, let's go to the lavender farm in the suburbs tomorrow. It'll be a good way to relax."

It seems I've tested positive. I'm feeling a bit unwell, so updates have been a little slower.
