Chapter 37 Changes (Part 1)

Many noble families have a lineage of wizards?

Lynn was surprised, but his face remained expressionless; he had no idea before.

He had always thought that only a very small group of people knew about wizards, but judging from Dybala's immediate declaration that he was a wizard, it was clear that there were quite a few people who knew about wizards.

Could his teacher, Anglie, also be a nobleman?

He agreed to bring me to Bangor Port. Could it be that the teacher's purpose is also related to the ship five months later?

They disappeared after arriving here. What are they plotting, my teacher?

“You might not care about our family’s heritage, but I know where to find good things. Our ancestor salvaged several items along with that statue. We secretly had them appraised, and they were all magical artifacts,” Dybala said. “I know where they are hidden, and our ancestor left the address where he salvaged the statue. He called it the Eye of Poseidon. In his later years, he sailed alone into the Eye of Poseidon. Not only that, but every generation of our family’s inheritors disappears in their later years. I suspect they all go there.”

"I noticed their movements. I destroyed the statue of inheritance. In order to leave a new legacy, they will definitely send ships to the Eye of Poseidon again."

Dybala said, "I won't take a single penny from the goods."

Seeing Lynn's calm expression, Dybala suddenly leaned over and asked, "You're not thinking about how to get rid of me, are you? You can't really be that heartless, can you!?"

Dybala clutched his chest. "This really breaks my heart. If I don't get back, this will be all over the city's newspapers the next day. I don't want to end up hurting my best brother."

"You don't think you've got me figured out just like that, do you?" Lynn said expressionlessly.

"No, no, no, I, Dybala, am a man of my word. I only need you to help me once, just once." The playful smile on Dybala's face suddenly vanished, leaving only deep sorrow. "Just consider it a plea from a father who has lost his child, a husband who has lost his wife. Just this once, and I will absolutely keep this to myself from now on."

"Let me hear your plan first," Lynn said.

"They're preparing ships to go to the Eye of Poseidon. I've read the family's archives, so I know where the Eye of Poseidon is. It's next to an island, so we can go there in advance and ambush them. They'll definitely be fishing heavily then. We just need to find an opportunity to board the ship and take care of those superhumans. The rest will be easy. Some ordinary people can't resist us at all. We just need to sail back to Bangor Port," Dybala said.

"That sounds like a good idea."

Lynn clapped his hands with a smile, causing specks of dust to rise from his palms.

The dust grew heavier, turning into thick smoke, which caught Dybala off guard and covered his face in the middle of their enthusiastic discussion. He was organizing his thoughts to explain his plan when the old man opposite him suddenly clapped his hands together, followed by a hidden sleeping spell, catching him completely off guard.

"You—" Dybala couldn't believe it. Was this guy really not worried about his identity being exposed?

bang~

Dybala slumped onto the sofa.

Lauren stood there like a silly goose.

"Search her, what are you standing there for?" Lynn said to Lauren.

Lauren said "Oh" and quickly went over to search Dybala.

Dybala was wearing a brown linen robe with only two loose, large pockets covering his entire body.

Dybala pulled a half-eaten dried fish from his outer pocket, and then took out a rusty silver ring from his inner pocket.

The silver ring was the standard size for a human finger, but Lynn glanced at Dybala's large, bony fingers and guessed why he had hidden the ring in his pocket.

Looking at Dybala lying on the ground, Lynn's expression was indifferent. I just want to do my experiment properly, why do you have to provoke me?

Why don't you just quietly settle your score instead of trying to drag me down with you?

Lynn doesn't believe Dybala's claim of a leak.

What kind of loyalists could someone who has been imprisoned in a water dungeon for who knows how many years have?

Even the food he ate was dried fish he had stolen from somewhere, and he didn't even have a single copper coin.

Lynn scoffed. If someone were truly that loyal, they would have found a chance to save him long ago.

As for the so-called Sea God's legacy or Sea God's treasure, Lynn had no interest whatsoever.

Please, that's the sea.

If something unexpected happens and there's nowhere to run, are you supposed to swim back by yourself?

Lynn would never put herself in a desperate situation with no way out.

I really want to see if I can find an opportunity to borrow from the Bolt family later. As for the interest... Lynn looked at Dybala's head.

"I am very touched by your story, but I'm sorry, I also have people I need to protect." Lynn took out her staff.

Acid missiles.

Dybala's head was instantly corroded, leaving only his headless body twitching slightly.

The surrounding ground was also corroded, leaving pits and small holes.

Lynn couldn't be sure if Dybala could survive without his head, after all, he was a being with extraordinary powers, not an ordinary person.

So Lynn also fired an acid missile at its heart.

Although it might cause considerable damage to the experimental subject, Lynn wanted to be careful just in case.

If only I could learn a spell that could kill enemies without damaging my body.

Lynn put Dybala's body into the alchemy lab.

"Let's go," Lynn said. "See if you can find the way he came."

The fog on the streets outside had dissipated.

Lauren followed the scent Dybala left behind.

After walking for about half an hour, we finally stopped in an abandoned hut next to the old dock.

"The smell is strongest here," Lauren said.

Lynn looked around; the ceiling of the dilapidated cabin had been corroded with a large hole.

The walls were riddled with wormholes, and the air was rotten and damp.

There were fish bones and scattered fish scales in the grass outside the wooden house.

It's clear that Dybala hasn't been having a good time these past few days.

"Master, there is a glass bottle here."

Lauren picked up a hidden glass bottle from the corner. The bottle was smooth from being touched, without a speck of dust. The not-so-transparent glass bottle revealed a yellowed piece of paper hidden inside, making it look like a message in a bottle.

I uncorked the bottle and poured out the paper inside. The handwriting on the paper was rather childish.

"I asked my mom why other kids have dads, and she said my dad turned into a fish and went to the sea. If I write him a letter, will he come back to see me after he receives it?"

Below is a doodle-like drawing: a little boy holding an adult's hand with his left hand and a fish's hand with his right.

On the fish pattern, a bloodstained scale was stuck to where the fish's eye should be.
