Chapter 2 Kidnapping

「!?」

The icy, damp sensation jolted Li Buying awake from his deep sleep. His face grew even paler as he coughed a few times. He twitched his fingers slightly and discovered that his hands and ankles were tied to a chair.

Looking around, he seemed to be in a sewer. Judging from the dust and relatively dry ground, it was an abandoned area. There were sofas, high-tech equipment that Li Buying couldn't understand, and food. It was obviously being used as a base.

In front of Li Buying was a tall man holding a water glass. It was obvious that he had woken her up by splashing water on her. Behind him were two burly men disguised as police officers.

"Hello, buyingli".

The man with the scars on his face looked relaxed. He smiled slightly when he saw Li Buying wake up and looked at him with great interest.

Li Buying sighed: "Six years have passed, and my parents haven't obtained any vibranium-related information from Horizon Labs. Isn't that common knowledge?"

"Oh, that's none of my business. My employer just told me to take you there," the mercenary said with a smile.

Sure enough.

Li Buying was filled with helplessness and resentment that had nowhere to go.

His parents were not ordinary people, but two scientists, or rather, scientists' assistants, who worked at Horizon Labs and once helped a great doctor research vibranium there.

Li Buying coughed as he stared at the status bar with his head down, his fists clenched behind his back. Suddenly, someone grabbed his hair and lifted him up. He hated the feeling of powerlessness.

A deep voice came from the other side. Li Buying perked up her ears to listen to their conversation. The mercenary propped one foot up on the low table, but his tone was extremely respectful: "My dear King of the Underworld, the person has been found. When do you need him?"

"It's not that I need it... Never mind, take him to the nearest port at 1 a.m. sharp, there will be a ship to pick you up."

"The reward—"

A glint flashed in the mercenary's eyes, and then he heard news that greatly excited him: "Half the money has already been transferred to your account, and the other half will be transferred to you after you send the person onto the ship."

"Pleasant to cooperate, King of the Underworld!"

Li Buying listened to their conversation, and in her heart, she had some guesses about the person on the other end of the phone. There weren't many people in Marvel who could be called the King of the Underworld, but in New York, there was only one—

Wilson Fisk, also known by his nickname "Kingpin," is Daredevil's archenemy, Neighbor Toy Story's main enemy, and the kingpin of the New York underworld...

Li Buying kept her head down and didn't say a word, rubbing her fingers together and looking around to familiarize herself with the surroundings.

His only hope now is that the system will randomly select a reliable hero's ability, even if it's just Hawkeye's combat memories, but please, please don't let it be Iron Man's knowledge.
