Chapter 16 Reunion Time

In the early morning, Li Buying was awakened by the sudden burst of sunlight. He tensed up and looked at the person who had come in, but the black-haired girl had already pounced on the bed and was smiling at him. At the same time, she pressed her body against his and her smile gradually became subtle.

"Lorna, you're back... hurry downstairs."

Li Buying relaxed, and slightly provoked, he waved for her to get off him. Lorna pressed two fingers to her slightly flushed cheeks and said, "Don't you need my help...?"

"Do you want me to commit a crime and get arrested? Get out of here right now, I'll count to three."

"Hmph, if you don't tell me and I don't tell you, who will know?"

Lorna pouted, but still obediently got up from Li Buying and left the room. The boy changed his clothes and walked out the door, asking as he went downstairs, "Why are you back so early?"

"Of course I took the night subway, I wanted to get back to see you as soon as possible."

Lorna's voice came from the kitchen. She was wearing an apron and standing in front of the stove frying eggs. Then, with a "ding," two slices of bread were toasted.

Sitting at the table eating breakfast, Li Buying asked, "So, where are you planning to go today?"

"Let's go to the aquarium, then go shopping in the afternoon, then go to the movies in the evening, and finally you come back to sleep while I take the bus back to school."

Lorna Dane had anticipated her brother's indecisiveness and had prepared a day's itinerary. After breakfast, she was eager to drag him out to play.

Li Buying obediently got up, reached for a tissue, and wiped the egg yolk from Lorna's mouth as she walked towards the door with her.

On the congested highway, the black-haired girl swore angrily in the taxi. It was fine to go to the aquarium early in the morning, but at noon when traffic was heaviest, they were inevitably stuck in traffic in the bustling city.

By the time they arrived at the shopping mall, it was already around 2 PM. The two ate and strolled around for a bit. It was almost time for the evening movie screening, but then they got stuck in traffic again. At this rate, they wouldn't even be able to go to the movie; the traffic alone would keep them from getting back to school.

Li Buying didn't mind. He closed his eyes and lay down in the car to rest. He was already a little tired after a day of sightseeing, so he took this opportunity to catch up on sleep. Unfortunately, even his nap wasn't very peaceful.

In the crowded road, the taxi the two were in arrived at a bank. Suddenly, a sound rang out, and the ground began to shake. Li Buying's eyes widened. His spider sense told him that trouble was rapidly approaching.

"Get away from me!"

A roar came from afar. Li Buying stuck his head out of the window and saw a huge steel rhinoceros charging towards the bank, swinging its mechanical arms and flipping cars over. The vehicle they were in was right in its path.

Mechanical Rhino Man...

Li Buying decisively opened the car door, pulled Lorna out of the car with her, and shouted to the panicked driver, "Hey sir, my advice is to get out of there quickly. You should have car insurance, right? Or is the car more important than people?"

Realizing what was happening, the driver quickly unbuckled his seatbelt and fled the danger zone. Li Buying grabbed Lorna's hand and pulled her away from the bank.

After getting away from the danger zone, Li Buying noticed the fear on her sister's face and immediately hugged the somewhat frightened Lorna to comfort her, saying, "Don't be afraid, he's only after the money."

"good……"

Lorna nodded in the boy's arms, her eyes shifting from fear to resentment.

Damn it, couldn't God just let her enjoy one day? Such a good trip has been marred by so many unexpected events. Traffic jams are bad enough, but then there are robbers robbing a bank. Now, she can't go to the movies with Li Buying at all!

Glancing sideways at the mechanical rhinoceros charging toward the bank, Lorna Dane subtly raised her hand and clenched it slightly.

The rhinoceros-man in the distance burst into the bank laughing, unaware that some of the mechanical rhinoceros's internal parts were loose, and if the violent movement continued, it might soon fall apart completely.

The result was that the mechanical rhinoceros lay motionless on the ground.

"Let's go back, since we can't go see the movie anyway."

"it is good."

Watching the mechanical rhinoceros disappear into the distance, Li Buying took Lorna's hand and left. Before they left, a sudden gasp came from the crowd. The two looked up and saw a strange man in a red and blue bodysuit burst into the bank.

"What is that?" Lorna leaned on her brother's shoulder, feigning weakness.

"Spider-Man, a superhero who suddenly appeared recently, let's hurry up and leave, it wouldn't be good if he got hurt."

Li Buying shrugged. So far, Spider-Man has only been active in Queens, and in terms of popularity, he certainly can't compare to heroes or villains like Iron Man or Magneto.

"Oh, that rhinoceros is truly wretched..."

Back home, Lorna lay regretfully on the sofa. In about two hours, she would be taking the high-speed train back to school. Unfortunately, she hadn't had much fun today, which made her a little angry.

According to Lorna's original plan, the two of them should have been sitting in the movie theater watching a romantic movie by now, and then she would take the opportunity to have her brother kiss her.

"Of course, I only come back a few times a month." Lying on the sofa with her eyes closed, Lorna, wearing only a T-shirt, stretched and showed off her beautiful side.

Suddenly, the girl felt another hand lift the hair on her forehead, in addition to the hand that was cupping her cheek. When she subconsciously opened her eyes and thought her older brother was going to kiss her forehead, Li Buying was already very close.

However, I was only touching her hair earlier because I was worried that the strands would poke her eyes, not because I wanted to kiss her forehead.

After a long silence, their lips parted, and the boy, pinching Lorna's still-warm cheek, raised an eyebrow and asked, "Now, are you still sad?"

"This short time isn't enough, give it more time!"

Holding Li Buying's nape with both hands, Lorna pressed herself against him again. The two stopped just short of crossing the final line of intimacy. The boy pulled back Lorna's loose sash and, with remarkable self-control, lectured her:

"If this keeps up, I'll really have to go in. This is where we are. You should go to the subway station now. I'll take you there."

"Oh, okay." Lorna stretched and got up, and Li Buying could still tell that she was very happy.

He called a taxi, took his sister's luggage into the car, and went with her to the subway station. He watched her board the subway before renting a car to go home.

Upon entering the basement, Li Buying tore open the package and placed the portable outdoor boiler set into the space, filling the eight-cubic-meter space to the brim before lying back down on the bed.

Tomorrow I'll be time-traveling...

Somewhat excited, Li Buying looked at the time travel button, then closed her eyes to conserve her energy.
