Chapter 45 Thoughts

"Sir, what would you like to drink?"

Emily's clear voice rang out, and Hollen's gaze paused slightly on her. He lowered his voice and said gently, "Give me a bottle of whiskey!"

"Okay, you can find a seat first, and we'll bring it to you later!"

Emily chuckled softly.

Slowly settling into his armchair, Hollenhua's gaze swept over the patrons around him, who were playing drinking games, drinking, and discussing the interesting events of the past few days.

Most of it revolves around the new superhero emerging in the East District—the Judge!

"Ha, ever since the Judge's legendary victory, I feel that Wallier Street is more harmonious and stable now!"

"It's not just Wallier Street; the entire East End seems to be permeated with an atmosphere of rejecting crime!"

"It feels like it's even surpassing Batman!"

"Surpass Batman? Not really. He commands immense influence throughout Gotham, and his influence extends to every crime scene in the city. Our East District Judges haven't even ventured outside the East District's borders yet!"

Silently taking in their words, Hollenhua accepted the wine glass offered to him, his gaze lingering slightly on the waiter. For some reason, he sensed a dangerous aura.

Lin Jue skillfully draped the tablecloth over his shoulder and quickly weaved through the crowd. Since he was the only waiter at Emily's tavern, and Dam hadn't arrived yet for some reason, he was much busier than usual.

Seeing a petite figure trying to squeeze out of the bar's display stand, Lin Jue rushed forward to stop her.

"I can do it myself!"

"How can that be?"

Emily, acting like a little adult, pushed aside Lin Jue who was blocking her way and delivered the remaining drinks from the bar to their respective locations.

Her arrival caused the crowd in the bar to cheer.

"Sigh, ever since that guy Lin came, Emily has hardly ever offered me a drink!"

A burly man with a thick beard, his face beaming, watched Emily approach as if she were his own daughter.

"hey-hey!"

The young man beside her kept chuckling, his eyes fixed on Emily's figure.

Watching Emily bustling between the various tables, Lin Jue sighed helplessly. Fortunately, most of the regulars at Emily's Tavern were law-abiding citizens, and no harassing or dramatic incidents occurred.

After delivering all the wine to its destination, Emily clapped her hands lightly, looking somewhat nervously at Lin Jue, who was arranging the bottles in front of the wine rack.

"Forest?"

"?"

Lin Jue looked at the girl, who was hesitant at the moment, with some curiosity.

"I'm going to expand our tavern business!" Emily exclaimed, her face flushed red.

"That's great!"

Thank you for your support!

Emily ran away as if fleeing, her heart pounding wildly. Lately, for some reason, she had been particularly concerned about Lin Jue's opinion. This was the first time she had made up her mind to expand her business, and she wanted Lin Jue's approval, which would make her feel inexplicably at ease.

Upon arriving at the tavern's inner chamber, Lin Jue saw a busy figure humming an unknown, lighthearted tune.

"Why are you thinking of expanding your business?"

His words made the girl stiffen slightly. Emily didn't turn around, and said in a light tone, "This is all thanks to the Judge. If it weren't for him deterring those criminals, our East District wouldn't have been peaceful for so long, and business wouldn't be so good now!"

Emily's tone was filled with admiration and respect, which made Lin Jue feel a little happy.

"I think he needs to keep trying, Emily. What do you want him to do next?"

With a tentative tone, Lin Jue smiled as he looked at the girl who was nodding her head, seemingly lost in thought.

"Hmm? I think he's done a great job. By the way, I hope he can be careful. There are a lot of very dangerous supervillains lurking in our East District. That's what my dad told me!"

Emily's tone carried a hint of worry.

"Oh? A lot of really powerful supervillains?"

At that moment, Emily did not notice the fleeting red light in Lin Jue's eyes behind her.

"Boss!"

A shout came from the outer room, and Lin Jue quickly left, heading towards the bar.

Hollenhua's gaze was fixed on Lin Jue's running figure, his voice slightly hoarse: "Another cocktail, please!"

Lin Jue quickly moved around in front of the wine rack, placed the wines that had been prepared and categorized in advance on a plate, and then quickly walked towards the man.

With his signature smile, Lin Jue placed the bottle on the man's table and thoughtfully uncapped it, pouring the wine into his glass, where it emitted a blue glow due to the refraction of light.

Are you still hiring at your shop?

The soft words echoed in Lin Jue's ears.

Lin Jue glanced at the man staring at him with some surprise, but his smile remained unchanged: "You'll have to ask Boss Emily. I'm just a waiter!"

"Um!"

……

At that moment, nearly a kilometer from Warner Street, Dam's body fell heavily to the ground.

"Fuck, you fatso, can't you watch where you're going? In such a hurry to be reborn?"

"Oh dear! I'm so sorry, I'm so sorry."

Dam apologized repeatedly, looking at the man who was now looking down at him with various tattoos all over his body with some fear in his eyes.

He instinctively reached out to kick Dam, but his companion quickly pulled him back.

"Are you out of your mind? This street has been frequented by the Judge before!"

The man paused slightly, a hint of fear flashing across his face as he looked around in a flustered manner.

Under the dim yellow light, people were still walking around the street. They didn't pay much attention to what was happening here. Their eyes quickly swept across the darkness of the street corner, and the man felt a chill inexplicably in his heart.

Somewhat embarrassed, he withdrew his foot, spat fiercely at Dam, and then strode away quickly with his companion.

Slowly getting up from the snow, he patted the footprints off his body, a hint of worry flashing across his round face.

However, he quickly roused himself, slowly gripped the special card in his pocket, and ran swiftly toward Emily's tavern.

boom!

As the bar doors opened, Dam entered Emily's tavern. The warmth of the air conditioning wafted over him, easing the stiffness in his face. A smile appeared on his lips as he quickly approached Lin Jue, who was offering him a glass of wine.

"Dam?"

Lin Jue immediately noticed the agile fat man, whose expression was animated as he subtly gestured with his hands in front of him.

Lin Jue instantly understood and slowly led Danmu into a deserted corner of the bar.

"Lin, I've already gathered information about the central area this time, so you'd better be prepared!"

Dan's face showed both excitement and doubt, and Lin Jue gently patted his shoulder.
