Chapter 22 Police Tracking
Chapter 22 Police Tracking
Eastern District Chief of Police.
A detective stared intently at the monitor, where images rotated, and a green subtitle in the upper right corner indicated the location of the filming.
Wallier Street, the second longitudinal street!
"How's it going, George? Did you find anything?"
An elderly detective, slightly overweight and with a haggard face, approached and spoke in a somewhat grave tone.
"Not yet. This guy perfectly avoided the surrounding surveillance cameras, and combined with his speed, it seems extraordinary! Many cameras can only capture a fleeting afterimage!"
"I never expected such a guy to appear in our East End! Batman from the Central District has started killing again lately. Who do these guys think they are, daring to kill people so casually!"
"Batman? Batman's alright, isn't he? He hasn't reached that level of madness yet. But this guy in front of us, he's died both times he's appeared—you could even say it's a 100% mortality rate!"
George stared intently at the screen on the computer, where the page was stuck. He was wearing a black robe and mask, his back to the camera, and each of his hands was gripping two tall adults.
"Hey bosses, have you noticed another detail?"
A black police officer suddenly leaned out and spoke to the two men. George's gaze shifted to the computer in front of him, which was now fixed on an alley on Hallelujah Street, where a person was pushing a cart, seemingly heading somewhere.
"This is?"
George stared intently at the screen, while the black police officer beside him quickly zoomed in on the image, revealing Lin Jue's blurry face to the three of them.
"Damn it! I told you all those security cameras needed replacing! Look what they've been recording!"
Looking at the blurry picture where the faces were completely obscured, George couldn't help but shout and curse, attracting the attention of the other officers nearby.
"What's wrong, George!"
"It's nothing. We found someone at the scene where the judge was arrested. He seems suspicious, but we can't see his face clearly."
The elderly detective looked at the Black officer: "Have you checked any other cameras? Where did this person come from? And where did he go?"
"The location has been adjusted. It starts from Second Street and ends at Third Street. The suspicious locations are Warner Street and Horst Street. The destination is likely a waste disposal plant and a scrap metal processing plant. This is mainly inferred from the goods he was transporting on his cart."
"Here it comes!"
"What a nice view!"
Just as George was about to ask something, the police officers in the station suddenly exclaimed in surprise.
With a frown and a hint of displeasure on his face, George looked at his surprised colleagues and glanced in the direction of the noise.
A graceful figure slowly approached.
A hint of amazement flashed in George's eyes, but he quickly calmed the ripples in his heart and looked calmly at the woman who had been called over by the police officer next to him.
A delicate face, large eyes, and a tall figure hidden beneath a black coat.
No wonder this happened!
George thought to himself.
"Hello, my name is Patricia!"
George gently shook hands with her, then looked at Patricia with a serious expression.
"I hope you can describe the events of that night in detail!"
Patricia's gaze swept quickly over the detectives who had gathered around her. A slight smile played on her lips. She didn't rush to reply to Detective George. Her clear voice echoed in the quiet police station.
"I was pushed down the stairs that night, and I hope he receives the punishment he deserves!"
"...Yes, don't worry, the police have already filed an arrest warrant for him, and I believe it won't be long before they apprehend him!"
"Not long? Officers, you won't let him off the hook just because he's a high-ranking executive at the Allen Group, will you?"
"Ms. Patricia, believe us, what we want to discuss now is the man who rescued you from the criminals. We hope to get some information about him from you!"
"May I ask who he is?"
Suppressing her dissatisfaction, Patricia's eyes flickered slightly as she looked directly at the middle-aged man in front of her, whose expression seemed somewhat anxious.
"You don't know? He's a recently infamous judge who's appeared twice so far, and each time it ended with the death of a criminal. I hope you realize how terrifying he is!"
"Terrifying! Indeed, those three people were truly terrifying to me when I was in despair!"
"..."
George's brows furrowed, and his expression was rather unpleasant. In fact, after the motorcycle gang incident, they had asked some people who had passed through the area before, although they knew they probably wouldn't get any useful information.
However, he was still resolutely rejected by those people, who seemed to be extremely protective of the "hero" who had killed so many people.
And Patricia seems to be the same way.
"He was very young, and he had a faint smell of alcohol on him!"
Patricia looked at the detective in front of her, who had a surprised expression.
"Are there any other clues?"
George's eyes were fixed on Patricia. He had given up hope, but unexpectedly, things took a turn for the better!
With her large eyes scanning the computers in front of the officers, Patricia's tone softened slightly.
"I hope to see the surveillance footage from that time; perhaps it will help me recall some details I might have overlooked!"
With the help of George and the black police officer, Patricia quickly reviewed all the video footage from that time, her gaze darting over Lin Jue, whom the black police officer described as a prime suspect.
"So, what do you think? Do you think there's something wrong with this person?"
The Black police officer looked excited and pointed to Lin Jue's blurry image.
Shaking her head, Patricia said decisively, "That person seemed to have noticed me before it happened, but showed no intention of helping me. Do you think he could be the Judge?"
"..."
This extremely simple logic instantly made the officers, who had just thought they had discovered something, blush with embarrassment. Indeed, the logic was simple and direct, but they hadn't thought of it because they were too eager for quick results.
With a somewhat helpless expression, George personally escorted Patricia out of the police station.
"Officer, I have cooperated with you as much as I can. I hope you can arrest the man who attempted to murder me as soon as possible!"
"OK……"
As George watched Patricia leave, a thoughtful expression appeared on his face.
"What's wrong? Reluctant to part with this beautiful woman?"
The young police officer who had come over looked at his senior with a smile in his eyes.
"I'm just a little curious, she fell from such a high building, and it hasn't even been two days, why does she look completely unharmed?"
"Well, maybe the fall wasn't that bad!"
boom!
With a lightning-fast slap, George knocked the young officer's head down, his face contorted with rage as he yelled, "Get back to work!"
