Chapter 91 Gino and Batman

"I don't know how much time has passed?"

Batman staggered and leaned against the wall.

Behind him were three or four members of the Assassin's Guild lying unconscious on the ground.

A week had passed since he entered this dimly lit, blurry maze.

During this time, he fought off wave after wave of assassins.

He also suffered considerable injuries during the ordeal.

Batman clutched his left side.

His leather armor was torn, leaving a shallow scar on the exposed flesh, a reminder to Batman that if he continued to delay, he would face death!

Hunger, fatigue, pain, boredom, anger.

These negative emotions crashed against Batman's heart like waves, screaming and trying to drive him into madness.

"Snapped!"

Batman pressed himself against a wall, struggling to move his body.

There was no exit from this maze, and the words that damned bastard told him were nothing but lies.

As a master of understanding people's hearts, Batman could sense that the guy really enjoyed seeing him suffer and torment.

"They want to bring me down, but I won't."

Batman leaned against the wall and slowly moved his body.

As you turn the corner, the familiar giant stone owl sculpture comes into view.

"here."

Batman's eyes were bloodshot as he stared intently at the giant owl statue.

A trickle of water flowed from the bird's beak, flowing down into the pool below.

Dry mouth and tongue.

Batman rolled his tongue, trying to produce some saliva.

However, having not drunk water for a long time, he was unable to keep his tongue moist.

"To eat the enemy's food in the enemy's stronghold is a very wrong choice."

"But if I don't drink water, I'll die very soon."

Just like a poor student facing two terrible multiple-choice questions, A and B, they can only choose the less terrible one.

Batman staggered to the edge of the pool.

He reached his right hand into the pool, and the icy water sent a chill down his spine.

"Splash!"

Cup the water and drink it.

The sweet and delicious liquid moistened Batman's mouth and burning stomach.

He breathed a sigh of relief.

The incandescent light overhead shone on the surface of the lake, reflecting the distorted bat headgear.

Silently, he stood up. The footsteps behind him were as familiar as ever. This was the 168th time; a group of people would arrive almost every hour.

Swinging his massive arms, Batman ran back into the dark maze.

"Stay calm and focus."

Batman ran through the long, dark corridor, and in a daze, the tall figure wearing a white mask appeared at the end of the alley.

"I've found you!"

Batman clenched his fists and roared as he charged toward the end of the corridor.

Tell me the truth about Gotham City!

"Whoosh!"

The fierce fist slammed forward and then passed through the tall body.

Batman suddenly awoke, realizing that what he had just seen was nothing but an illusion.

"They put hallucinogenic drugs in the water."

He collapsed weakly to the ground, panting heavily.

After a while, Batman stood up again, staggering as he searched for a way out.

He passed through another brightly lit room and saw neatly arranged coffins. The photos of children on the coffin lids proved that the owner of this place had hunted down children and trained them to be assassins from a young age.

"Da da".

Batman's boots slammed into the cold floor. He turned his head; he couldn't stay in a place like this.

As he stepped out of the room, that familiar dizziness returned.

My vision gradually blurred.

At the end of the road, the faces of an elderly couple slowly emerged.

Although he couldn't see clearly, Batman—no, Bruce—was the first to recognize the two elderly men.

"Thomas? Martha!"

Bruce strode toward the two men, who smiled at him.

Bruce's mother, Martha, reached out and touched his cheek with a loving expression: "My little Bruce has grown up."

Bruce's shoulders trembled with excitement, and his lips quivered, unable to utter a word.

is this real?

It's that damn hallucinogenic drug working again.

"Yes, let me give you a hug." Thomas still had the same cheerful personality he remembered, and the man opened his arms as if to pull Bruce into his embrace.

"Whoosh~"

Just before they were about to touch, the faces of the two old people gradually twisted and deformed, and they let out miserable wails before gradually disappearing.

"Bang!"

Bruce's angry fist slammed into the marble tile, leaving a deep fist mark.

"I...I can't tell the difference!"

Bruce clutched his cheeks with both hands, his anger growing so intense that he felt an urge to shout at the top of his lungs.

But the Batman in his mind was warning Bruce Moss to speak out and expose himself.

"It's all a lie."

Bruce's voice grew lower and lower.

Batman took a deep breath, releasing his pent-up anger, and regained his composure.

His keen hearing detected footsteps behind him.

In the dim darkness, Batman remained secretly alert.

"Da da da".

The shoes tapped rhythmically on the floor.

Then, a snap of fingers slowly rang out.

The blinding light illuminated the tunnel, so intense that Batman had to cover his eyes.

Remove your hands again.

This was an exaggeratedly long, narrow passage, and at the end of the road, Batman saw a figure standing quietly at the corner, the white light casting a long shadow.

As the man moved, his shadow gradually shortened, and Batman silently pulled out his batarang from his toolbox, remaining vigilant.

He was ready for battle.

The moment the figure appeared, Batman threw several darts from his hand.

The sharp blades gleamed with a dazzling cold light under the illumination, and their jet-black color made them look like two black lightning bolts striking the figure.

They stabbed at the figure's abdomen from the left and right, ensuring that they could injure the opponent without killing them.

"Click!"

To Batman's surprise, the high-speed dart disappeared into thin air as if it had been interfered with by something.

His gaze fell on the figure.

Black suit, white mask.

The mysterious man had two bat-shaped darts tucked between his fingers.

"You always like to play with those shady little toys; you really disappoint me now."

The mysterious man sounded somewhat dejected, as if what Batman considered a life-or-death battle was nothing more than child's play to him.

now,

Gino was somewhat disappointed. He would have preferred that the current Batman become the "omnipotent" Batman of the future, pulling out the Hellbat armor to fight him.

But it's just a thought.

Gino played with the bat dart in his hand; the Joker would undoubtedly be the one to eat the most darts in the future.

Unfortunately, it's unknown which clown is performing in which circus now, or perhaps in some run-down tavern, giving awkward and uninteresting comedic performances.

Gino looked at Batman.

Standing in the light, Batman, draped in a black cloak, looks like a giant, fluttering black moth.

His eyes were bloodshot, and he looked exhausted.
