Chapter 88 Batman Solve the Case

In the grand hall of this historic castle, Gordon sat on a leather sofa, fidgeting restlessly.

Before joining the Gotham Police Department, he was just an American soldier on the battlefield, whose daily routine consisted of running, eating, carrying out missions, sleeping, or dying.

He had never seen such a luxurious hall before; it was as magnificent as the legendary royal castle.

Gordon would naturally feel inferior.

However, what made him uneasy was not his inner inferiority complex, but a horrific murder that had occurred twenty minutes earlier.

More than 40 wealthy people from high society were found dead in an old building.

This event had an incredibly profound and negative impact on Gotham.

It's important to know that not only those forty people, but their family members were also found dead in their homes.

The relatives and friends of these victims will put pressure on the police department, and the bureaucrats they fund will not let the Gotham Police Department off the hook.

So, before Gordon left, the entire police department, from the chief down to the stray dogs they fed, was sent out to find the killer, all in order to catch him as soon as possible and give those rich bastards an explanation.

What's even more chilling is that their heads were separated from their bodies, and a notice was posted on the white wall stating that Bruce Wayne should be killed.

This is why he rushed here. Wayne Enterprises is a solid pillar for Gotham.

If the sole heir, Bruce Wayne, were to die, the consequences would be immeasurable.

Wayne Enterprises will descend into chaotic internal strife and may even be devoured and torn apart by outside capital.

For the sake of this city, Gordon must ensure Bruce Wayne's safety.

"Mr. Gordon."

A call from the stairs interrupted Gordon's worries.

Bruce Wayne, the young trillionaire, was walking down the stairs in a loose, luxurious robe, followed by his loyal old butler.

Bruce looked sleepy, as if he had just gotten out of bed, his face full of fatigue, and the lipstick marks on his face easily reminded people of a playboy.

"What do you want?" Bruce asked lazily, his head drooping.

"Mr. Bruce."

Gordon stood up and shook hands with the young man, then began to recount what had happened twenty minutes earlier.

The long list of names of the deceased were all prominent figures in Gotham City.

Bruce listened, his expression turning somewhat grim.

"So, you're worried that those thugs will break into Wayne Castle and kill me?"

Bruce shrugged, his gloomy expression vanishing as he regained his nonchalant demeanor: "Alright, what does Officer Gordon want me to do?"

Gordon sighed. "I hope Mr. Wayne can leave Gotham for a while."

Bruce nodded and looked at his butler, Alfred.

"Sir, I remember there's a helicopter parked on the top of the castle. We can use that helicopter to go to your other private estate and then take a connecting flight to leave Gotham."

Bruce smiled and snapped his fingers lightly: "Let's do it that way."

"Excuse me, Mr. Gordon." Bruce turned around and nodded to Gordon, then, as if he were terrified of death, he left with his butler and ran towards the top floor.

Watching Bruce leave, Gordon also stood up, walked out of the manor, got into his secondhand car, and drove towards the crime scene. He still had a lot to do today.

"Boom!"

Shortly after Gordon left, the roar of helicopters soon began to fill the air.

Inside the helicopter,

As Alfred piloted the helicopter, he kept increasing the altitude, shouting back, "I hope you can protect yourself this time, Mr. Bruce. Don't end up all battered and bruised again."

"I understand, Afu, I understand."

Behind him, Bruce was putting on protective gear.

"Click".

As the black shoulder pads pressed against his wrists, Bruce looked at the bat mask and took a deep breath.

Alfred fiddled with the signal receiver while reporting to Bruce: "According to the latest information from the police, the murder scene is located at the former site of the Wayne Corporation."

Bruce trembled slightly upon hearing Afu's words.

He thought again of the mysterious masked man from that night.

Could it have been that guy?

Take a deep breath to dispel your inner worries.

Bruce gazed down at the city below, the city he both loved and hated.

"Gotham".

Bruce heard himself say this, and then he picked up the bat mask and put it on his head.

As half of his face was covered by a mask, his originally melancholy and deep eyes instantly turned cold and sharp.

At this moment, he is Batman!

He gripped the sides of the cabin with both hands and suddenly used his legs to release his grip.

Like a whistling cannonball launched from the cockpit, it swooped down toward Gotham under the cover of night.

In the crimson clouds of dusk, Bruce spread his cloak open with both hands, making a fluttering sound in the air.

Like a giant bat falling from the sky, it was about to bring fear to the city.

The former site of the Wayne Group.

The abandoned high-rise building is now covered with orange police tape.

Gordon, a cigarette dangling from his lips, gazed at the night sky.

He recalled the horrific scene he had witnessed at the crime scene.

The horrifying headless corpses were neatly arranged in the huge office building, while on the dusty round table were rows of grotesque heads.

"Whoever did it, it's insane."

Gordon took a deep drag of his cigarette, letting the nicotine-laden smoke roll into his respiratory tract, then tossed the half-smoked cigarette aside and stomped it out.

After arriving in Gotham, he discovered just how twisted, perverse, and insane this damned city truly was.

"Click~"

A faint sound came from a tall building not far away.

The two officers who were on night watch with Gordon had already fallen asleep.

If Gordon hadn't maintained his vigilance in the military, he might have overlooked these developments.

"What happened?"

Gordon gripped the pistol at his waist, slowly took a step, and bent over to leap over the security line towards the high-rise building.

In the pitch-black night,

Gordon listened to his own breathing as he walked up the stairs to the fourth floor, the crime scene.

A strong, pungent smell of blood assaulted Gordon's mouth.

He peered into the crime scene.

The ground was littered with silver body bags.

In the deep darkness of the night, a dim light slowly illuminated itself.

"Who's there!"

Gordon tensed up and raised his sidearm in the next instant.

In this bizarre murder scene, only firearms could bring a little warmth.

"take it easy."

A deep, hoarse voice rang out.

Gordon saw the eerie light slowly move upwards, revealing familiar, sharp bat ears.

"It's you, masked man." Gordon's face was cold, and he unconsciously tightened his grip on his gun. "Did you do this?"

"No, I'm here to help you."

The man shrouded in darkness spoke slowly, turning to look at the wall, seemingly unconcerned whether Gordon would shoot him in the next second.
