Chapter 86 The Assassins' Guild in Action
Chapter 86 The Assassins' Guild in Action
The familiar underground conference room.
Compared to the dazzling splendor of last night, the chandelier in the conference room was off today, making the room somewhat dim.
In the darkness, a masked man in a suit with a gold brooch pinned to his chest paced anxiously. He said to his companion, "Something's not right!"
"A day and a night have passed, but Claw has not yet returned."
"I am afraid."
He didn't finish his sentence, but he believed his companion had understood what he meant.
"yes."
The gray-haired man sitting in the chair sighed: "Go and inform the members to relocate."
The reason why the Owl Court has been able to exist since its inception is because of its timidity and caution.
The Claw Assassins are now likely to fail their mission, which has created a sense of urgency within them.
"I'll go right away."
The standing man stepped toward the exit, pressed the door lock lightly.
"Click".
The heavy blast door opened, and he stepped out with his right leg.
But then, in the man's eyes, a bloodstained head suddenly loomed large.
The neckless head slammed into the man's face, its sturdy skull shattering the mask before crashing down on the man's forehead with a whistling sound and tremendous force.
"Bang!"
A muffled sound rang out in the secret room, and the man sitting in the chair was clearly startled by the sudden noise.
He hurriedly stood up from the chair and looked towards the exit.
Then, he witnessed the most terrifying scene he had ever seen since birth.
The two heads collided with each other under the push of a large hand. The powerful force crushed both skulls, just like throwing a pig's head onto a hydraulic press and grinding it.
The man's acquaintance's brain shattered, and indescribable objects splattered through the air onto the walls.
Only a headless corpse was left, flying backward and crashing into the wall, convulsing wildly, but it quickly calmed down and lay limply on the floor.
"Huff huff"
Tension and fear made the Owl Court presiding judge's heart race and his breathing quicken.
He simply couldn't believe it—what kind of force could possibly smash a head open like that?!
He saw the metal door being violently pushed open; the hand gave it only a light push, and then the iron door flew off like a cannonball, smashing a deep crack into the opposite wall.
A mocking voice rang out: "Headshot!"
The arm retracted, and darkness returned.
"Splash splash."
The sound of armor clashing echoed as dozens of fully armed Assassin Alliance warriors filed in.
They silently formed a circular encirclement around the entire conference room.
Then, the owner of those arms slowly walked out of the dark passage.
With his long golden hair and handsome face, and most importantly, his black samurai outfit, he exuded a dark and gloomy aura.
The masked man stared dumbfounded at the young man who swaggered out. He saw the young man smile and say, "To be honest, this godforsaken place is really hard to find."
I don't know what the people who designed Gotham's underground transportation system were thinking. The city's sewage system is even wider and more complex than the city of Gotham itself.
Gino stood at the entrance with his hands behind his back. Soon, a brown-haired beauty stood beside him, a wicked smile on her face, staring with interest at the judge, the only person in the hall who was not one of their own.
"Tsk tsk, the Court of Owls." Gino looked at the guy standing there dumbfounded, then casually glanced at an assassin. The assassin immediately spoke up, stepped forward, and ripped off the guy's mask, revealing a frightened old face.
The old man looked pampered and comfortable; his hands clearly had no calluses.
"You, you are Gino Luther."
The old man spoke in a hoarse voice, then looked at the assassins around him, a bitter look on his face: "So the Assassin's Guild is behind you. No wonder you dare to oppose our Court of Owls."
"The Assassin's Guild stands behind me?" Gino chuckled, glancing at Talia. "Go tell him the truth."
Talia, expressionless, looked at the old man and said, "It's Mr. Gino who's standing behind us."
The assassins she brought were all her loyal subordinates, so she wasn't worried about them informing Lei Xiaogu.
Moreover, Talia was hoping to use Gino's power to bring down Rashomon and become a dutiful daughter.
"You..." The old man's words caught in his throat, but soon, knowing he was doomed, a look of madness appeared on his face: "So what if you kill me? The Court of Owls will find someone else to fill my place."
"Yeah?"
Upon hearing the old man's words, a mocking smile flashed across Gino's face.
What kind of Hydra statement is this? If you cut off one head, you still have nine heads, right?
The boy didn't intend to kill the old man right now; Gino simply snapped his fingers.
The next second, two assassins carrying a sack slowly walked into the hall.
"Bang!"
The heavy object that would have taken two people to lift was easily tossed onto the conference table by Gino with one hand.
Gino drew a sharp samurai sword from a samurai's waist and, without even glancing at the old man, said, "Open it and let me show you how to die."
A shadow crossed the old man's mind. He reached out his hand tremblingly, as if the bag contained not just anything, but his countdown to death.
"Splash!"
As the sack was opened, the old man felt his vision go black when he saw what was inside.
"Pfft!"
Before he could even speak, a samurai sword pierced the old man's heart, killing him instantly.
"Thump."
The lifeless body slowly fell to the cold floor, and soon samurai came forward to loot his clothes.
Gino sat down in the chair and dropped the blood-stained blade from his hand.
Talia glanced at the surrounding warriors and waved for them to disperse and search the stronghold.
The warriors left the meeting room, leaving only Gino and Talia at the large round table.
"Oh."
Talia chuckled softly, her eyes darting around, and quickly walked to Gino's side, then gently bent down to let her beautiful buttocks sit on Gino's lap.
"What do you mean?" Gino's expression was expressionless, but he silently glanced at Talia's warrior attire.
"This organization called the Court of Owls must have some kind of treasure, right?"
Talia, with seductive eyes, reached out and hooked her arm around Gino's neck. Since her failed attempt to seduce Gino with her beauty in their last encounter, she had practiced with Tina many times, and her skills had improved significantly. At the very least, she knew how to occasionally move her hips to give Gino some stimulation.
"so?"
Gino didn't answer the woman's question. He knew Talia's personality: ambitious but incompetent and obsessed. He wanted to know what Talia wanted to do.
"So, may I see what valuable things the Court of Owls has?"
Talia wasn't stupid; she knew that the Owl Council, which Gino cared about, must possess some precious treasure.
"I've helped you so much, is that alright?" Talia feigned pitifulness, a far cry from her usual queenly demeanor.
"certainly."
To Talia's surprise, Gino agreed without hesitation, which made the woman somewhat happy.
"We're friends, aren't we?" Gino smiled and gently put his arm around Talia's slender waist.
This was certainly not because Mr. Gino was kind-hearted; it was simply that he would need to use this woman in the future.
So, give her some benefits first.
