Chapter 85 The Massacre in Progress
Chapter 85 The Massacre in Progress
"To be honest, my father always hated this city. He believed that 80 percent of the world's bad people lived in Gotham, and in his words, it was a city flowing with a stench called 'sin.'"
At Gotham Airport, Talia got into a private car, with Tina sitting next to her.
The woman was wearing a black long-sleeved top, a black short skirt, and sheer black stockings and high heels, which accentuated her cold and mysterious aura, easily arousing a strong desire to conquer in men.
Tina, who was next to her, also came to Gotham with Talia. However, since the girl was a high school student, her outfit naturally reflected a more youthful and energetic style.
Wearing light blue jeans, a white short-sleeved shirt, long black hair, and white-soled sneakers, she exudes a youthful and vibrant charm.
The girl hesitated, not responding.
To be honest, she hasn't had a good time lately.
Before being captured and threatened by that bastard Gino, she was just an ordinary high school student in a small town.
Although she accidentally killed her mother, Tina still felt she was a good girl.
But everything changed after she met Gino. She thought Gino coveted her abilities and wanted her to transform into different women to serve him.
It should be noted that her ability can not only change her appearance, but also her physique and the strength of her muscle tissue.
In Western terms, she is a standard succubus body.
So what did that bastard Gino do? He injected her with a nanobomb.
After being sent by Gino to Talia's side, Talia threw herself into the Assassin's Guild to learn all sorts of killing techniques and infiltration disguises.
Now, Tina is considered a semi-qualified assassin; you can tell how much training she has received just by looking at her muscular forearms.
"By the way, Tina," Talia suddenly leaned forward, tilting her head to look the girl up and down, "what do you think of Gino Luther?"
"What, how?" Tina frowned. Although she was taken by Talia's side, she was essentially sent by Gino to monitor Talia, so her boss was Gino. The girl wasn't too afraid of Talia.
Talia chuckled. "Would you be willing to have him as your boyfriend?"
"Boyfriend?"
Tina sighed softly, recalling the night she was forcibly injected with nano-bombs, her eyes filled with melancholy and her tone resentful: "Then I'd rather jump off a building."
Dating Gino?
Tina fantasized about that scene.
Gino, grinning, held a syringe: "Want to date? I'll inject you with a nano-bomb in the neck, and if we break up, I'll blow your head to bits—a love that's a matter of life and death."
So, who would be a good person dating a devil? They're either crazy or a criminal.
Talia sneered; she thought Tina was right.
The two chatted casually as their car pulled up outside Elliott Estate.
Talia and Tina got out of the car.
Outside the vast manor, only an old man with white hair stood outside the iron gate.
"Are you Miss Talia and Miss Tina?" The butler, who had served Loren for most of his life, was still quite nimble. He slowly walked towards the two women, smiling as he said, "Young Master Gino is already waiting in the hall. Please follow me."
"Heh." Talia sneered. That damn guy still had that arrogant attitude.
They followed the old butler into the manor and into the living room.
That dazzling blond hair caught everyone's attention. Talia saw Gino standing in front of a wall covered with oil paintings, his blue eyes fixed on the top painting, a realistic depiction of four people crossing the ocean.
"In the 19th century, my maternal grandfather's ancestor and three other young men founded Gotham."
With his back to the two women, Gino continued talking to himself, and through his narration, Talia and Tina learned about the origins of Gotham City.
After hearing Gino's words, Talia raised an eyebrow. She felt a little sorry for the Court of Owls, who had actually provoked Gino, this scoundrel.
Gino rubbed his head and turned to look at the two women.
"You all look beautiful today."
The boy's casual compliment provoked a cold laugh from Talia, while Tina remained silent.
Seeing their reactions, Gino was speechless; he had a terrible image in their eyes.
However, he showed no intention of mending the relationship. Gino's expression returned to its coldness as he stared into Talia's emerald eyes: "Where are the people you brought?"
Talia idly fiddled with her fingers and said, "They're in plainclothes and scattered throughout Gotham, there are about fifty of them."
"I hid them all in the sewers."
Gino nodded, not surprised by Talia's arrangement.
Although the profession of assassin sounds mysterious and powerful, in reality, their "working environment" is usually very harsh in order to complete assassination missions.
For example, medieval assassins would often climb into the latrine passage of a castle, then climb up from the bottom, lie in wait, and then stab the king in the buttocks with a dagger while the king was using the toilet.
"You go and lead the team to find the people on these lists and interrogate them about the other members of the Court of Owls." Gino lazily tossed Talia a blank sheet of paper covered with a long list of names.
Over the years, the Owl Court has infiltrated every sector of Gotham, from education and law to government; they have people everywhere.
"Understood." Talia put away the white paper. Cutting the weeds and eliminating the roots was something she was familiar with, and she wasn't surprised that Gino could do such a thing.
Just as the woman was about to leave the estate, Gino called her back.
"Oh, right."
The boy snapped his fingers.
"Don't forget to give them my regards."
Talia was speechless. What a damned sense of humor.
The dark sewers didn't smell good.
On one side of the dark passage, a group of silent, black-clad warriors stood motionless.
Each of them carried two samurai swords, their vital parts were covered by armor, and their faces were covered by ninja masks, revealing only pairs of cold, emotionless eyes.
They are the League of Assassins, iron and blood are their symbols, they are born to assassinate, and they are cold, emotionless blades!
"Whoosh~"
A ray of light shone down from above, and the warriors looked up.
There was an iron ladder with the manhole cover open, and Talia, also dressed as a ninja samurai, waved slightly to the crowd.
The assassins silently and swiftly emerged from the underground passage and stood in the dimly lit alley, silently watching Talia.
"Warriors." Talia smirked and took out the note Gino had given her.
"Work in groups of three, each person responsible for one house, and make sure to extract the full list of all members of the Court of Owls."
"after."
Talia licked her alluring red lips and made a throat-slitting gesture with her slender white hand: "Cut the weeds and eliminate the roots."
"Whoosh!"
The assassins did not answer, but simply lowered their heads in unison, their armor clanking as they acknowledged the mission.
"Let's get started!"
As Talia waved, the assassins sped off in groups of three to various parts of Gotham.
Today is destined to be a day of slaughter!
