Chapter 53 Pete in Panic

Julie's house.

The two-story building, located on the west side of the town, sits quietly in the night.

"Cough cough."

Wearing a black suit, Pitt looked anxiously at the watch on his wrist.

The clock showed 22:10, meaning 10 minutes had passed since Gino’s ball.

"Hey, Julie, are you in there?" Pete rubbed his suit tie; he had even rented an expensive suit for tonight's date.

"Here it comes~"

Julie's voice came from behind the door; she was wearing a long red dress and smiled as she pushed the door open.

"Wow, you look so beautiful tonight!" Xiao Hei looked at the tall girl and her long legs. It was no exaggeration to say that she looked like a runway model.

Pete handed over the flowers: "These are for you."

"Thank you!" Julie's eyes lit up as she took the flowers from Pete's hand. This was the first time anyone had ever given her flowers in her life.

As he spoke, Xiao Hei opened his left arm: "What are we waiting for? Let's go!"

"Thanks."

Jolie covered her mouth and chuckled, then put one arm around Pitt's arm as the two walked toward the car.

Julie smiled, but the next second, a sharp pain shot through her abdomen, causing her to wince. Her arm, which had been holding Xiao Hei's, involuntarily loosened.

"You don't look well, what happened?"

Pete turned around in surprise, looked at Jolie who was in pain, and asked with concern, "Do you need to be taken to the hospital?"

Julie took a deep breath. Suppressing the emptiness in her stomach, her eyes greedily swept over Little Blackie's thick lips, as if she were looking at two hot dogs.

An absurd thought popped into my head: He looks tempting and delicious.

She swallowed hard, but soon Julie was startled by her own thoughts.

"What am I doing? Pete is a good guy, he defended me."

"I can't hurt him!"

Julie clenched her fists and lost control, saying, "Pete, you're very good to me, but I'm not feeling well."

She turned and ran back into the house, still holding the flowers Pete had given her, but her voice was already trembling with tears: "You're a good person, so please leave now."

She didn't want to hurt the only boy who was kind to her.

"Wait a minute, Julie!" Pete watched helplessly as the girl ran further and further away, her already dark cheeks appearing even darker. He sighed, "What a strange girl."

Now that's bad, my dance partner has run away, and I can't go to the dance.

After all, arriving late to the ball would definitely attract a lot of attention.

The thought of a group of people discovering he had no dance partner was worse than killing Pete.

"Ugh."

Pete sighed. He was heartbroken to have been stood up by the girl. The boy muttered, "I'm going home to order some fried chicken and watermelon and have a big meal!"

"Pete!"

A call interrupted Pete's thoughts. Little Black looked up and saw Chloe peeking out from the driver's seat of Clark's SUV.

The girl waved nervously at Pete, "Come here quickly!"

Just five minutes ago, a bombshell broke in the town's news circle: high school student Genos was found dead in the Bellis Gift and Clothing Store, the cause of death being the loss of body fat. This made Chloe even more certain of her suspicions that Julie was definitely not normal.

"What happened?"

Seeing Chloe's serious expression, Pete quickly ran to the girl to ask what was wrong.

As Pete listened to Chloe's account, his dark face gradually turned deathly pale with fear, and his voice trembled as he said, "You...you mean Genos has become a dried-up corpse?"

Pete recalled the scene from noon.

He and Julie did see Genos when they were browsing in a gift shop.

The two were talking about the situation, completely unaware that on the second floor of Julie's house not far away, a pair of venomous eyes were staring intently at the scene.

Julie clutched her stomach tightly with her right hand, the agonizing hunger burning away her reason.

"Chloe!" Julie's face was filled with jealousy as she watched the girl talking to Pete. The girl's face gradually contorted, and her voice became sharp and terrifying. Dense black hair sprouted from her skin, covering her entire body.

The once slender arms twisted and deformed at this moment, gradually growing sharp claws.

Two slits were torn in its back, and a pair of hideous, pus-drenched fleshy wings stretched out, almost filling the entire room.

"Aww!"

The monster, which looked like a giant bat, let out a strange cry. The ear-piercing sound shattered the glass and rang out of the window, echoing through the entire street.

The chilling voice sent shivers down Pete's spine, and he turned to look in the direction from which it came.

In the darkness of night, a gigantic bat monster crouched on the window balcony, staring eerily at him.

"My God!"

Pete let out a scream, instantly unleashing his racial advantage, leaping into the car and rolling onto the seat, yelling and urging Chloe, "Did you see that? That monster! Quick, drive! Run!"

"What is that thing?!" Chloe cursed, giving Pete the middle finger and complaining, "I fucking told you, Gino warned you too, that Jolie wasn't doing well, and look what happened!"

Chloe angrily cursed the lecherous Pete while rapidly shifting gears and slamming on the gas.

Thanks to the excellent performance of the off-road vehicle Gino gave Clark, the powerful vehicle roared and carried the two of them toward the road in the distance.

Everything around her was rushing past, and Chloe floored the accelerator, constantly increasing the car's speed. The SUV roared deafeningly on the silent road.

inside the car.

"It's still chasing us!"

Pete didn't even dare to turn around, only daring to look in the rearview mirror at the monster chasing the car from a distance, using its hands and feet.

"What should we do?"

Pete's voice was already trembling with tears. If he could do it all over again, he would definitely go back to yesterday and slap himself twice to stop himself from accepting Julie's invitation.

Chloe swerved the SUV toward the highway, yelling at Pete, "You idiot, call Gino and Clark!"

In this situation, only Gino and Clark can save them.

"Oh, right, right, find Gino and Clark!" Pete then realized that he had two mysterious friends. Judging from Gino's calm expression when he observed Mrs. Ted's corpse, the other party was definitely not an ordinary person.

With trembling hands, Pete pulled his phone from his pocket, glancing at the rearview mirror as he muttered, "Hurry, hurry up!"

He's never even been in a relationship, he doesn't want to die!

"Pete, hurry up!" Chloe screamed. In the rearview mirror, seeing the monster getting further and further away from the SUV, it flapped its fleshy wings and slowly flew into the air, opening its sharp teeth and letting out a chilling scream: "Pete, you're mine!"
