Chapter 54 Giving You Your Favorite Big Piece of Wood

Smallville, Highway 5.

In the pitch-black night, where you couldn't see your hand in front of your face, the occasional mournful cries of ravens roosting in the green woods along the highway added to the eerie and frightening atmosphere.

A beam of light from the disc player dispelled the darkness.

"Buzz!"

A red SUV roared across the road, eliciting loud cawing from many ravens.

"Whoosh!"

Before the poor ravens could even react, another huge black shadow swept by. Sensing the danger, the ravens flapped their wings and scattered in all directions.

Inside the SUV, the wind howled past on both sides, and Chloe could only yell at Pete, "Call Gino! Clark doesn't have time to answer!"

With just a glance, Gino easily deduced that the monster had lost all basic reason and was driven only by madness and hunger.

"Clark would be heartbroken to see this."
