Chapter 52 The Disappearance of Pete
Chapter 52 The Disappearance of Pete
A clothing store in a small town.
"This is so interesting."
The young man gently sniffed the perfume on Julie's clothes.
"Seriously, did you go to the gym?"
Inside the room, the young man sized up Julie's figure and gently put his arm around the girl's waist.
"Yeah, I never thought I could do that." Julie suppressed her discomfort, still feeling the sweet words of yesterday's bully, and said softly, "But I'm a little hungry now, could you do me a favor?"
"What?" The bully, mistaking the girl's attempt to provoke him, asked in a ridiculous, bubbly voice, "What do you want me to help you with?"
"It's simple, just a small favor," Julie said, rubbing her chin. "It's your body!"
"What? My body?"
The young man slowly closed his eyes, his mind wandering to the other side, and he looked on with a look of enjoyment. But in the scene he couldn't see, Julie's expression grew increasingly gloomy, and her mouth stretched to an unimaginable degree, like a python opening its jaws wide.
"thump!"
The woman suddenly pressed down on the young man's shoulder, and her once neat teeth instantly transformed into sharp fangs, piercing his flesh like a straw.
"Click."
A few rays of sunlight shone through the cracks onto the wall, and in the reflection, Julie kept tilting her head back, greedily swallowing the unfortunate man's body fat.
"My neck!"
The boy let out a scream, but it was drowned out by the noise of the crowd outside. Soon, the small dressing room fell silent again.
"Hey, what do you think of this dress?"
Radiant, Julie stepped out of the dressing room, tossed her long hair, and twirled around like a ballerina.
"Fantastic!" Pete grinned, his heart racing at the sight of the girl's alluring figure. "I can't wait for the dance tonight!"
"Yes," Julie glanced wistfully at the fitting room, "I'm really looking forward to the ball tonight."
into the night.
The once tranquil Luther Castle was now brightly lit.
The old butler truly lived up to his reputation as a formidable figure who had served the Luther family since he was twenty.
A vibrant red carpet was laid from the castle entrance to the grounds.
It was 21:30 p.m., half an hour before the ball was to begin, but outside the castle, a number of men and women dressed in formal attire had already gathered.
"Everyone."
The old butler cleared his throat, picked up a microphone, and said, "Welcome everyone to Luther Castle! Now, please invite your dance partner to walk down the red carpet and join us for this wonderful evening!"
As soon as the words were spoken, the castle gates slowly opened. The first couple to walk down the red carpet looked a little nervous, but they still managed to suppress their nervousness and step into the venue.
More men and women walked the red carpet together and entered the venue under the guidance of their attendants.
On the large lawn in front of the castle, tables, chairs, and food had already been set up.
Waiters carrying trays moved through the crowd.
Most of the invited guests had never attended such a formal party before, and many seemed a bit reserved, either adjusting their ties from time to time or awkwardly holding their wine glasses to try and project an air of elegance.
Even when speaking, everyone dared to lower their voices for fear of appearing rude or impolite.
A black stage was set up in the center of the lawn, with two speakers and music equipment on it, in preparation for the upcoming performance.
However, most people had one question in their minds: where was the host of this banquet?
Where did the owner of this ancient castle go? This is the question in everyone's mind.
"He's here!"
Someone shouted, and several searchlights on the top floor of the castle lit up the red carpet. Gino and Clark, dressed in black suits and with their dance partners, walked into the venue.
However, compared to Gino's confidence and composure, poor Clark was like a stiff robot taking big strides, so fast that he almost dragged his companion Lana down.
"Clark," Gino instructed in a low voice, "follow my steps, stay calm, and don't be nervous."
"That's right, Clark, I'll lead you, follow my rhythm," Lana said in a low voice, reassuring her dance partner.
Listening to Gino and the goddess's words, Clark took a deep breath to calm himself down and walked into the venue with Lana under everyone's gaze.
"Everyone."
Gino loosens his grip on Chloe and walks alone onto the black stage.
Hundreds of eyes were on him; at this moment, he was the center of everyone's attention.
The boy picked up the microphone and said leisurely, "Now, please enjoy tonight's dance!"
As soon as he finished speaking, a light and melodious dance tune began. Under Gino's lead, the restless young men and women quickly let loose and danced happily with their partners, regardless of whether they knew how to dance or not.
"Wow, I never expected you to be such a good dancer!"
Chloe was being led by the hand and spun around continuously by Gino.
Chloe only managed to catch her breath after the music stopped.
"generally."
Gino smiled. He wouldn't tell Chloe what he had learned during his miserable childhood. It wasn't just about fighting skills, but also dance and music. Anything related to elegance was something his family forced him to learn.
Gino glanced at Clark and Lana out of the corner of his eye and instinctively covered his forehead.
Compared to his own effortless performance, Clark's performance was nothing short of a farce.
He either stepped on Lana's shoes or almost tripped over himself.
It's fair to say that Clark still has a long way to go before he can successfully win over the goddess.
"By the way, where are Pitt and Jolie?" Chloe looked around, a hint of worry in her voice. "I hope nothing happened to them."
"Who knows?" Gino said nonchalantly, then thought for a moment and said, "If you're worried about Pete, you can ask my butler; he has a list of names."
"Gino, may I dance with you?"
When a girl saw Gino and Chloe separate, she immediately ran up to them and invited them to meet.
Gino smiled. "Of course, why not?"
As the music started, Gino stepped onto the dance floor with his new dance partner.
Chloe glanced at Gino, whose attitude was lukewarm, and then at Clark, who was engrossed in his happy time with Lana. The girl sighed and walked toward the old butler of the castle.
As a friend, she didn't want to see anything happen to Pete.
Chloe stopped the old butler and asked, "Sir, is Peter Coulson's name on the banquet menu?"
"Miss," the old butler pushed up his glasses, glanced at the list in his hand, and shook his head, saying, "I'm sorry, this name is not on the list."
"Perhaps your friend didn't come to the dance?"
Hearing the old butler's words, Chloe thought to herself that things were going badly.
The thing she least wanted to see happened.
Pitt did not show up at the ball, nor did Jolie.
"No, I have to go check it out!"
