Chapter 301 Do You Want to Be a Superhero?
Chapter 301 Do You Want to Be a Superhero?
new York.
The entrance to Midtown High School.
"I still can't understand how you managed to smash through the backboard."
Peter Parker, a high school student who looks just like Garfield, is like a chatterbox, telling Gino about his inner shock.
"Yeah?"
In response to Peter's praise, Gino rested his chin on his hands and said in a low voice, "It's nothing to me."
He turned to Peter, smiled slightly, and said, "If I wanted to, I could even blast through the planet we're standing on."
Listening to Gino's story, Peter just chuckled awkwardly: "Gino, you're joking with me again."
Clearly, Peter didn't believe Gino could penetrate the Earth.
Gino ignored Peter's sneer and simply put his arm around Peter's neck, just as he had done with Clark years ago.
Do Peter and Clark have anything in common?
Of course they exist; they are all kind-hearted and trusting.
"So, Peter," Gino asked Peter, seemingly jokingly yet also quite seriously, "if you could become a superhero, what would you plan to do?"
"What to do?" Peter subconsciously bit his lip, some childhood dreams flashing through his mind. He smiled and said, "Perhaps it's to use this ability to give my family a better life."
The Peter of today has not experienced Uncle Ben's death, nor does he know the crucial maxim for Spider-Man: "With great power comes great responsibility."
"Okay, I'm looking forward to when you have superpowers." Gino snapped his fingers as if by magic, and a pure iron card appeared in his hand.
"Osborne Group, 12 noon, don't be late."
Gino shoved the card into Peter's hand, waved goodbye, and left Peter looking bewildered.
He still couldn't figure out how Gino made those two cards appear in his hand. Was it some kind of advanced magic?
Holding the card in his hand, Peter, being a strong science student, naturally recognized it as the Osborn Group's visitor pass, with an embedded chip that could verify everyone's identity.
So now Peter is facing a profound question.
Tomorrow is Saturday, should he go and check out the Osborne Group?
After pondering for a moment, curiosity ultimately prevailed over reason.
"Okay, I'll just go take a look."
Peter told himself this, but he still harbored a lot of hope for Gino, this mysterious boy.
Perhaps, as Ginobili said, the chance to become a superhero is hidden in Osborn Tower?
Peter didn't know how he got home, and he couldn't fall asleep with a feeling of unease.
As the first rays of sunlight streamed into Peter's bedroom, the piercing sound of an alarm clock followed.
"Okay, I need to get up."
Peter, still half asleep, rubbed his eyes, got dressed, and of course, didn't forget to take the card Gino had given him. He then lazily walked out of the house.
The Osborne Group wasn't far for Peter; he could easily reach the Osborne Building by taking the familiar Metro Line 6.
I bought a ticket and entered the station.
New York's subway stations are like Hell's Kitchen; filth and disorder are synonymous with this place.
However, perhaps because it was morning, most of the homeless and gang members chose to sleep at home.
Therefore, the carriages made of sheet metal were sparsely populated, with hardly any people in sight.
Peter casually found a seat and sat down. As the train swayed, the boy slowly drifted off to sleep.
What kind of dream was that?
On the vast, boundless battlefield, several stars floated overhead.
The surrounding area was filled with people fighting each other.
The enormous purple figure at the head of the group held a multicolored golden gauntlet.
Five gemstones of different shapes and colors were inlaid on the gauntlet, emitting a faint glow.
Peter didn't know what was wrong with him; he felt a deep sadness filling his heart.
"We can't let him snap his fingers!"
A man wearing gilded armor raised his palm cannon, aimed it at the purple-skinned giant, and pulled the trigger.
Amidst raging flames and streaking lasers, Peter saw yet another burly man wielding a hammer charge forward to fight the purple-skinned giant, while simultaneously shouting, "We need Gino! Get him here quickly!"
"We need Gino."
"We need Gino."
The voices of countless people converged into a torrent that roared past.
"Gino, Gino!"
Peter suddenly opened his eyes and started flailing his arms and legs wildly.
"Hahaha, look at this fool!"
Peter noticed three black thugs dressed in New York hip-hop style surrounding him, and smelled the aroma of cola. Peter instantly understood everything.
It seems these people were trying to prank themselves by dripping Coke from their cups onto their noses.
"Hehehe, this prank is quite funny." Peter chuckled awkwardly, but the thugs exchanged glances, their eyes gleaming with greed.
This boy is so easy to talk to, he's obviously a pushover!
"Hey kid, we want to talk to you about something."
"Hey guys? I'm a little short on cash lately, dame." A black man with a gold necklace around his neck stretched out his dark arm and rubbed two fingers together.
It was obvious that these people intended to blackmail Peter.
"Uh, me"
Although reluctant, Peter eventually reached into his wallet for the sake of his life.
"Perhaps you need to find a different target for your blackmail."
At the other end of the subway, a voice suddenly rang out.
"Um?"
Peter, who was in a bad mood, subconsciously looked up and saw a familiar figure standing up, the light shining through the car window onto his blond hair.
"Damn it, I'm warning you, mind your own business!" The leader of the black men patted his bulging waist: "Otherwise, I can't guarantee that my bullet won't go through your head."
"Really?" Gino tapped his forehead in response to the black man's threat. "I can guarantee your bullets won't hit me."
"No, Gino, are you crazy?!" Peter blurted out instinctively, worried about Gino's safety.
But the boy only gave him a reassuring look.
"Fine, fine, go to hell!" The clueless black man immediately drew his pistol and kept pulling the trigger at the blond boy.
"Clap clap clap!"
The whistling bullet pierced the air and hurtled towards the young boy.
But the next second, Gino simply raised his thumb indifferently.
"Buzz!"
An invisible barrier seemed to rise in front of him, and the bullets that were powerful enough to pierce flesh and blood seemed to hit a solid stone wall, their heads shriveled and losing momentum as they fell and hit the cold carriage.
"so."
Gino tilted his head, staring at several Black men whose faces had turned from black to blue with fear. He reached out and tapped their chests, saying, "Say hello to the death of this world to me."
The next second, several of the guys fell to the ground with their eyes rolled back, leaving only their pistols lying not far from Peter's feet.
