A certain broken Hogwarts
Chapter 80 Battle
Chapter 80 Battle
Sure enough, even the most meticulous plans can encounter unexpected situations, just as even the most ingenious magic tricks can run into unforeseen circumstances.
As soon as his location was revealed, Irving reacted with lightning speed, flashing behind the nearest shelf and dispelling the Soul Reaper spell to avoid revealing his location again.
At the same time, several spells of different colors struck the spot where Owen had just stood. A blinding flash pierced the surrounding darkness, making it impossible to open one's eyes. A large, charred hole exploded in the ground where the spells struck, surrounded by twisted flames.
Several customers who were selecting goods on the shelves in the distance looked over alertly. They had no intention of joining in the fun and hurriedly ran out along the aisle between the shelves. In the blink of an eye, not a single one of them was left.
Owen wanted to escape with them, but he was in the deepest part of the room, and several dark wizards had already surrounded him.
"There are five of them, but if this goes on too long, the guards outside will definitely rush in..." Owen moved nimbly and gracefully between the shelves, trying to avoid the dark wizards' encirclement, while quickly analyzing the situation in his mind. "But I'm alone; it's unwise to fight them head-on..."
He couldn't expect Voldemort to come; now he had to save himself.
"Carter, how are you?" the guy who had called out Irving's location shouted.
"I'm fine, Robert. He tried to control me, but I broke free! Heh, this little mouse's spellcasting skills aren't that great..." Owen's target, the dark wizard named Carter, chuckled gratingly. "Sneaky little mouse, are you here to rescue this woman? Oh dear, what a pity, her brother has already been killed by us, I think she'll be next..."
With that, he stomped hard on the red-haired woman's head, pressing her bloodied cheek to the ground, and even grinding the back of her head. The woman let out a hysterical whimper, reaching out her trembling hand to grab his ankle tightly.
Carter kicked the woman in the head, sending her rolling twice on the ground before she lay motionless, seemingly dead. He then brandished his wand and shouted, "Appear in human form!"
"Appear in human form!" The other dark wizards chanted the spell in unison, attempting to break the invisibility spell on Owen. Fortunately, Voldemort's spell was strong enough; despite the combined efforts of the wizards, Owen only showed slight ripples like water, without revealing his true form.
"He might be wearing a sophisticated invisibility cloak. Chant the incantation together and summon our shy guest!" Carter, clearly of higher status, issued the order in a fit of exasperation. Of course, given that the other party was already under the control of that dark wizard named Robert, it was perhaps Robert adding his own drama.
Under Owen's suddenly alert gaze, the five dark wizards pointed their wands at the sky together, and fluttering white snowflakes fell from the ceiling, instantly turning into a blizzard.
It was just a simple weather spell, but the dark wizards used it with extraordinary effect, making it incredibly useful in this situation. The swirling snowflakes landed on Owen's shoulders, instantly assimilated by his invisibility spell, preventing him from revealing himself. However, the snowflakes didn't melt on the ground, quickly forming a thin layer.
Irving's un-snow-covered footprints were visible on the ground, and now, whether he stood still or took a step forward, he could no longer hide his footprints.
"Truly worthy of being called a dark wizard who licks blood from the edge of a knife..." he thought helplessly, waving his wand and muttering "Dark Guardian".
A shadow shrouded in black mist whooshed past between the shelves, instantly chilling the surroundings and drawing the attention of the dark wizards.
"What is this thing? A Dementor?" The dark wizards were slightly agitated, casting spells at the Dark Guardians, but they were all easily dodged. They noticed that the candlelight around them had turned a sinister green, and a chilling cold seemed to freeze all the hope and joy in their hearts.
The Dark Guardian approached a dark wizard who was blocking the shelves. The hem of his cloak fluttered lightly against the shelves on both sides, revealing signs of decay on the dark wood and even cracking the glass jars on them.
The dark wizard in front hastily retreated, a beam of red light shooting from the tip of his wand, successfully striking the dark guard's cloak, but passing right through it as if hitting an invisible ghost, nearly hitting his teammates behind him. The black mist surrounding the dark guard thinned slightly, continuing to approach with a chilling aura, the white corner of his mouth beneath his hat always seeming to sneer.
"Crushed to pieces!"
Owen was taking the opportunity to quickly retreat towards the door when suddenly a shattering spell was cast. A dark wizard spotted his footprints and secretly cast a spell on him.
"Protect Your Body!" Owen reacted with lightning speed, waving his wand. An invisible shield blocked the incoming Shattering Charm, deflecting the spell to the side. Several jars on the shelf shattered, and still-wracking entrails, along with murky water, cascaded to the ground.
"He's here!" the wizard shouted. "Ignore that thing! Get away from it..."
"Thunderbolt Explosion!" Owen, no longer bothering to conceal his presence, pointed his wand at the shouting wizard and uttered the blasting spell he had recently learned.
A golden-red flash rushed towards the opponent, only to be deflected elsewhere by the opponent's armor spell. A violent explosion resounded in the confined space, shattering the shelf into pieces. The raging flames illuminated the surroundings, and the shockwave from the explosion, along with the flames, flung the person away.
Owen, disregarding his composure, nimbly rolled on the ground, dodging two oncoming spells like a nimble big cat, and strode towards the door. As he recklessly used spells, his form gradually emerged from his invisibility—the Disappearance Charm is easily disrupted and rendered ineffective in the heat of battle.
Following Owen's will, the Dark Guardian nimbly swayed through the air, passing directly through the shelves, its wide cloak unexpectedly binding tightly to a dark wizard who was about to cast a spell on him.
The man bound by the cloak let out a terrified scream, his voice filled with pain. Black, corrosive wounds appeared on his body, making him look gruesome.
Amid the man's desperate cries and struggles, the Black Mage's mockery seemed to grow even more pronounced. The supple cloak wrapped tightly around the man's body, transforming it into a massive, dark cocoon. A cold, malevolent impulse surged through Owen's mind, seemingly madly tempting him to kill this man…
Owen gripped his wand tightly, his expression strained, and fired another Explosion Charm behind him as both an attack and a defense. Ignoring the situation behind him, he cast an Armor Charm on himself and continued charging forward. It wasn't that he didn't want to kill, especially since these dark wizards deserved to die; he simply didn't want to use dark magic to kill… at least not with dark magic guards.
"Avada Kedavra!" someone roared menacingly; it seemed to be Robert's voice.
A blinding green light flew past Irving's ear, smashing the shelf in front of him and setting it ablaze with green flames.
Irving's pupils suddenly shrank to pinpoints, a chill running down his spine. Had it not been for his erratic movements that had caused him to veer off course, he would be dead by now.
He gritted his teeth and laughed, a chilling killing intent flashing across his pale face. In an instant, he released the Black Demon Guards; restricting them, who were crucial to his fighting force, at this moment was tantamount to suicide!
This is not a game; he needs to live!
The chilling despair emanating from the Dark Guardian intensified instantly, seemingly freezing everything around them. Accompanied by its unwavering mocking laughter, large patches of the Dark Wizard's body, enveloped by it, turned lifeless black. With a scream as if from the depths of the underworld, he utterly lost all life, leaving only that piercing scream echoing hollowly in the room.
The Black Demon Guardian's wide cloak suddenly billowed open, throwing the corpse inside aside, and he sprang up like a nimble black bird, tightly wrapping himself around another person.
