A Certain Magical Hogwarts

Chapter 911: Inviting guests, beheading, and taking in servants as dogs

Chapter 911: Inviting guests, beheading, and taking in servants as dogs

Before July arrives,

Borns defeated Scrinker by a landslide and was successfully elected as the new minister.

Burns' rise to power was inevitable; she was the head of the Department of Law Enforcement, a position of great power and influence.

Most importantly, with the support of William and Dumbledore... she was naturally invincible.

After taking office, Burns delivered what was arguably the shortest inaugural address in history in just four minutes before returning to work.

The media praised her for her decisive and time-saving approach, making her the best candidate for minister.

In stark contrast, when Fudge took office six years ago, he excitedly delivered a four-hour speech.

The media dug up this incident and lashed out at Fudge, criticizing him for being glib, arrogant, and a despicable person who had long been seen as a scoundrel.

Back then, newspapers unanimously praised him as witty, humorous, approachable, and eloquent, calling him a great orator.

That's how real life is.

As the newly appointed minister, Burns naturally had to take action to demonstrate her stance.

She can play three cards:

Invite them to a feast, behead them, or take them in as dogs.

Burns decided to play the "decapitation" card first to deal with the legacy issues.

The biggest remaining issue is the criminal record of the two former ministers.

During the last trial, Umbridge deliberately rambled on to buy time for the Death Eaters.

But the Death Eaters failed, and her ultimate gamble became the biggest joke.

Umbridge, of course, had no chance to overturn the verdict.

Fudge was first tried for embezzlement, bribery, abuse of power, illicit relationships, misuse of public office, and publishing books to make money...

During his trial, Fudge uttered the famous line: "Umbridge did it too!"

Umbridge did indeed commit the crimes; she was involved in Fudge's sins and was also a party to the illicit relationship.

She even committed crimes that Fudge had never committed.

Abusing students, siding with Death Eaters, and manipulating Ministry of Magic employees.

The Auror in Azkaban prison recanted his testimony, refusing to take the blame for Umbridge.

Umbridge threatened him, saying he would give his family the best life.

But now that Umbridge is in jail, all of that has become a pipe dream.

The old toad eventually pleaded guilty, but during the trial, she claimed:

"It was Fudge who seduced me. I was just a young Auror back then, and he used his power as minister to rape me in his office."

I used to have high hopes for life, but this experience completely changed my life.

I was terrified, I didn't know what to do, I was afraid to face it... I did so many wrong things, all because Fudge coerced and forced me.

Umbridge lost control of her emotions, broke down in tears, and said:

"You can say I'm not good, but you can't say I'm not kind."

"I shouldn't be an evil person, I'm not someone who does evil with evil in mind..."

Faced with Umbridge's shameless defense, Dumbledore, as the chief wizard of Wizengamor, refuted her in court:

"Many of the prisoners do not feel remorse for the crimes they have committed; their only regret is that they were caught."

To make the trial work in their favor, they'll pull some disgusting little tricks.

They talk about their upbringing, how they weren't loved by their parents, how society ignored them, spouting all sorts of tiresome sophistry and self-deceiving nonsense.

But even if placed in the same environment, or even faced with a crueler fate... many people would never commit a crime, would never so easily deprive another of their dignity.

Like Fudge, Umbridge was sentenced to life imprisonment.

Umbridge is not exempt from execution, but rather to be kept alive for another two years.

Dumbledore didn't want anything to happen to Professor Snape.

He believes:

Retaining Umbridge's professorship and having Snape serve as an interim professor would be a good option.

That way, the curse wouldn't affect Snape.

Also on trial were the Death Eaters. Of the twelve wizards, four were already dead.

The remaining eight were all sentenced to life imprisonment.

Azkaban has been destroyed by William and Voldemort, and the Dementors, led by the Little Black Robe, have "betrayed" the Ministry of Magic and joined the Death Eaters.

It is unsafe to leave these Death Eaters there; the Ministry of Magic will choose a more stringent method to imprison them.

……

……

After the trial concluded, the Hogwarts Open World exams also came to an end.

Hermione finished her exams with ease... except for the Divination class she had to drop, she took all eleven other classes.

However, Hermione has another problem: she tends to be insecure and anxious.

This is just like many top students; even though they did very well on the test, they still kept saying things like, "Oh no, I'm doomed!" or "I'm going to fail this time."

Whenever a struggling student hears a top student say something like that, they assume everyone did poorly on the exam.

In the end, it turned out that they were as good as ever.

Of course, there's also a misplaced confidence, with some feeling they did well on the test.

For example, Ron, when he estimated his scores after the exams, found that he had the highest scores in eight subjects in the college.

Eight O's... I can't believe he even came up with that.

After the exams, this semester is finally coming to an end.

As is customary, Hogwarts hosted a grand banquet.

It was not only to bid farewell to graduating students, but also to dispel the shadow of war.

The dinner party didn't offer many surprises; Ravenclaw won the College Cup.

Snape once again missed out on his eleventh consecutive championship, while Ravenclaw achieved the incredible feat of winning six consecutive titles.

This surpasses Slytherin's previous record of five consecutive titles, which greatly displeased Professor Snape.

It is generally believed that:

As long as William hasn't graduated from school, the Academy Cup will always belong to Ravenclaw.

But it's okay, Shit only has one year left to graduate, and the future belongs to Slytherin.

Snape had already made his plans... When it comes to favoring students, he's in a league of his own.

Snape was in a fairly good mood.

Before the dinner party, Potter and Weasley apologized to him, and he made sarcastic remarks about them.

Of course, most importantly, Dumbledore has agreed to let him serve as the Defense Against the Dark Arts teacher next semester.

Snape waited a full sixteen years to get this position; it's truly touching.

Snape is known as the Yang Guo of the wizarding world, and that's no exaggeration.

The only regret is that he is not a professor, but only a substitute teacher, and the position is still attached to Umbridge.

Snape also became the first person to serve as the headmaster while acting as a substitute teacher.

If he weren't the dean, William could have openly mocked him next semester as the professor of ancient runes.

You, a mere substitute teacher, dare to be so arrogant in front of me, a noble full professor.

The banquet was particularly lively.

For their last time at Hogwarts, the twins brought a lot of alcohol to celebrate the end of their youth.

There was no more homework, no more exams, no more strict Professor McGonagall... Everyone was laughing, but they all looked so sad.

Because youth is truly coming to an end.
