A Certain Magical Hogwarts
Chapter 860 Who's in favor, and who's opposed?!
Chapter 860 Who's in favor, and who's opposed?!
A single steed piercing the clouds will draw a thousand troops to its aid!
William's entrance surprised all the centaurs.
"Stark, this is a centaur village, not your Hogwarts!"
Bain's face was gloomy, and he was as cold as a frozen flounder.
William ignored Bain, simply running his hands through his fiery red hair, and rambled on:
"Professor Ferenczer, the principal said you might be in some trouble and sent me to pick you up and take you to the school."
Bain was furious that William was so arrogant and ignored him.
If it were up to his usual volatile temper, he would have immediately ordered an attack.
But when the other party mentioned Dumbledore... one Stark is fine, but if Dumbledore also comes, ugh!
Bain resolutely stood up and prepared to reason against the odds.
"Even Dumbledore shouldn't meddle in other people's business."
Our customs are different from yours, and our laws are different from yours!
"Ference betrayed us and disgraced us..."
"What if I insist on taking him away?" William smirked, making no attempt to hide his disdain.
Before arriving, William had already spoken with Firekiss about the centaur tribe.
I just exchanged a quick glance with Ronan.
Fire... oops, the uprising begins today!
Since that's the case, then let's just stop pretending!
He'd disliked Bane for a long time, always saying "The Forbidden Forest is for centaurs"... what the hell!
Why don't you just say that the universe originated from your family?
Seeing William's blatant disrespect, Bain was indeed enraged, and he roared:
"Then you can stay here too!"
"Bane, William saved you, and he saved us too!" Ronan started playing the good guy again, trying to boost his reputation among his people.
Look at you, Bain is ungrateful, while I do my best to maintain peace.
"Besides, he's just a foal. We centaurs never kill foals!"
This means: He's still just a child!
Classic rhetoric naturally has classic reasons, which immediately resonated with most people.
During the Battle of the Forbidden Forest that year, they encountered Voldemort. While Voldemort was wreaking havoc, William helped the centaurs.
He also made deals with centaurs, exchanging so many Muggle everyday items for the most useless magical materials.
These are the centaurs' old friends!
Bain, oblivious to his people's expressions, simply retorted with disdain:
"A pony? I heard Stark became a professor at Hogwarts; he's not a student, and he's certainly not a pony!"
"Besides, the wizard trespassed into our tribe and tried to take Ferenze away; he should be...detained!"
Bane initially wanted to say dead, but then he realized he couldn't kill Stark.
Bane's impression of William's strength was still based on his battle against Voldemort that year... Even at that level, it was not something he could kill.
"Then let's give it a try." William drew his wand.
He was about to dismount to avoid making things difficult for Fire Kiss when she stomped on the horse's hooves and charged towards Bain.
"Fire!" Chief Bain gave the order.
The centaurs around them exchanged bewildered glances; that was Ronan's sister...
"My horse, Chief?!"
Damn it! Bane is attacking his own people!
Little did he know that Ronan was secretly helping the Starks buy and sell goods, and was even deliberately poaching their talent.
Ronan had long wanted to seize the position of centaur leader and become the one in charge.
Bain's move today, sparked by Ferencze, is also an attempt to make an example of Ferencze and consolidate his position.
But no one expected Stark to show up.
Without his tribesmen making a move, Bain suddenly drew his bow to its fullest extent, the bowstring snapped with a loud bang, and an arrow shot towards William.
Centaurs are all skilled archers, and Bane is no exception.
So here's the question: Fire Kiss is no exception; he's also a master archer.
Even with William on top of him, Fire Kiss smiled slightly, indicating that it wouldn't affect his aim, and that he would just shoot and be done with it.
Without any deliberate preparation, he simply took the arrow from the quiver, drew the bow, and shot the arrow in one swift motion.
The two arrows met in mid-air and changed direction.
Although Bain has lost some of his authority over his people, he is still the leader and has some loyal followers.
More than a dozen horsemen all drew their bows and nocked arrows, and three shots rang out in one go.
Fire Kiss moved with graceful movements, constantly dodging arrows. In the darkness, it was hard to say whether she resembled a nimble butterfly or a firefly chasing the light.
A centaur charged fiercely towards them, but William clenched his legs around the Firebeard to steady himself, letting her run ahead as he did so, while simultaneously tapping his wand in the air.
The centaur was still in the position of raising his arm high to slash his sword when he felt a massive weight on his body. His four hooves suddenly slid to his knees, and a vine wrapped around him.
William pressed his left hand against Huowen's head, and extended his right hand forward, casting a spell without a staff.
A long, yellow clay sword rose from the ground in front of him.
Another centaur was pierced through the shoulder by a flying sword and fell to the ground. William's wand trembled, and the ground turned into a swamp.
He casually pressed down again, and the struggling centaur's entire body sank into the swamp, creating a cloud of bubbles.
A third centaur came charging towards them, and William, pulling on his fiery red hair, gestured for her to pass.
The centaur's feet left the ground, his head seemed to have been struck by a heavy hammer, and he fell backward, crashing heavily to the ground.
William did not kill the centaurs.
These guys might be blindly arrogant and unable to recognize the situation, but they have one advantage, which could also be considered a disadvantage... that is, they are not afraid of death.
Even though Voldemort was killing indiscriminately, they did not retreat.
Once the centaurs are killed, unless the entire tribe is slaughtered, it will be a fight to the death.
It's possible to kill, but there's no need.
Because these are the vital forces that will fight Voldemort in the future.
Back then, William had nothing better to do than culturally invade the centaur tribes, simply to try and befriend this force.
The best outcome would be to support a pro-witch centaur to take power.
For example... Ronan.
Since the goal is to help Ronan rise to power, there's no need to make things so strained.
The only problem is leader Bain... his prestige must be completely destroyed, utterly humiliated.
William's gaze was cold as he glanced at him in the crowd of horses.
Bain felt a deep sense of powerlessness, not only because the two volleys of arrows had caused no casualties, but also because most of the centaurs had not moved.
Instead, they are observing.
This shows that his control over the tribe is very weak... he has been sidelined!
Bain was deep in thought when his back suddenly tensed up, and he broke out in a cold sweat!
A cool, clear voice sounded from behind him.
"This farce should end."
William, unaware of what had happened, had already left Firekiss and was now riding on Bain.
Being ridden on by the wizard like a donkey... a sense of humiliation suddenly welled up inside me.
Bain didn't turn around, or even his head. He raised his arm and slammed it back, the veins on his arm bulging, and the animal hide wrapped around it turned to dust.
This swing of the arm was like a whirlwind.
William simply extended his right hand and gently tapped the wand against the ground.
"Water Armor Spell!" Instantly, the moisture in the air condensed, forming a layer of pale blue armor that effortlessly pressed against Bane's wrist.
Bain trembled all over, blood gushing from between his teeth, determined to break the armor even at the cost of injury.
Bain is decisive and ruthless, even willing to sacrifice everything, but once William has made his move, he won't hesitate.
"Spiral Water Arrow Spell!"
The water armor disappeared, transforming into two spiraling arrows that shot towards Bane's eyes.
Bain ducked to avoid it, but just when he thought he had escaped, William stood up and stepped on his head.
Half of his head was smashed into the mud, and Bain almost fainted.
After landing, William walked calmly towards Ferenze. His voice wasn't loud, but it was clearly heard by all the centaurs.
"I'm taking Ferenczec away now. Who agrees? Who disagrees?!"
