Chapter 664 Heinrich's Law of Night Wandering

Chapter 664 Heinrich's Law of Night Wandering

Harry and Ron are running wildly.

Myrtle was crying.

If you give her a cute outfit, she'll definitely be a midnight breast spirit.

Now, it's more about being disliked than having a deterrent effect.

However, the sound of her crying carried over a very wide area. This was related to Harry and Ron's speed.

Wherever they ran, their cries echoed.

Myrtle set an alarm clock in the middle of the night, completely entangled with the two of them.

So this wave woke up half the castle.

Ron turned his head and cursed at Myrtle, telling her to stop following him.

But such curses only excited Myrtle more.

Run!

Sprint!

The more you sprint, the more I cry.

Harry ignored the two and started taking out the Invisibility Cloak from his pocket.

Harry just wanted to avoid all the professors and take a shortcut back to the common room.

But what's that saying again... Don't use your phone while walking, concentrate. Otherwise, you'll fall down the stairs sooner or later.

Harry wasn't paying attention to the aisle; he was still adjusting his Invisibility Cloak.

When he was halfway there, one of his legs suddenly got stuck in a tricky step.

Ron was engrossed in his rant and didn't notice anything amiss; he too got caught up in it.

Then, the two tripped and fell to the ground, rolling down the stairs like invincible whirlwinds.

Rolling around, bang bang bang!

They were all dazed and confused from the fall. Harry, enduring the pain, struggled to pull out the Invisibility Cloak and covered himself with it.

They also covered Ron, who was already on the verge of death, inside.

The sound of clattering footsteps could be heard in the distance.

Filch came running up, panting, his voice trembling with anger.

"What's all this noise about? Trying to wake everyone in the castle? I'll catch you, Myrtle, and make you cry again..."

Upon seeing Filch, Myrtle stopped crying and hummed a smug tune above Harry and Ron.

"Filch? What happened?"

Filch turned around, and there stood a man at the bottom of the stairs—Professor Snape.

Having gotten rid of Karkaroff, Snape originally intended to go find Dumbledore, but then thought that the headmaster should be asleep, so he prepared to go to sleep as well.

I didn't expect to be disturbed by the noise from upstairs as soon as I changed into my pajamas.

"It's Myrtle, Professor," Filch said in a low, menacing voice. "She's been deliberately crying here in the middle of the night to keep everyone awake."

"Myrtle?" Snape said softly, his eyes fixed on her.

"Impossible, she wouldn't cry for no reason, someone must have provoked her... Some students are out at night!"

"Oh ho ho, who is it? Tell us quickly, Myrtle!" Filch's eyes gleamed with excitement.

"I don't know either, you guys guess, hehe~"

Myrtle laughed a few times and then ran away.

"It must be around here!" Snape looked at the stairs, his gaze passing right through Harry and Ron, then he looked down into the corridor below.

"Filch, I want you to continue searching this area until you find the students who were out at night."

"Yes, Professor!" Filch grinned.

"Once I catch him, I'll make sure he feels the touch of whips and candles."

Harry swallowed hard, praying that the other person wouldn't come up the stairs. If they did, they'd definitely step on them.

Just then, Mad-Eye Moody appeared, limping.

Over his shirt-style long pajamas, Moody wore his old travel cloak and, as usual, leaned on his cane.

"A pajama party, huh?" he said gruffly toward the stairs.

"Professor Snape and I have spotted the students out at night, Professor," Filch said immediately.

"Really? That's strange." Moody limped over.

"During my search, I even found students daring to go out at night!"

Recently, Moody's launched numerous nighttime raids and arrests, which deterred many students.

I never expected that even after Christmas, someone would still dare to commit a crime against the wind.

Moody took another step toward the stairs, his magical eyes sweeping over Snape before looking down at the ground.

Harry prayed silently that Moody wouldn't find him.

But Mad-Eye's words immediately caused him to fall off the cliff.

"Found it! What a great invisibility cloak, isn't it, Potter!"

Moody slowly walked towards Harry.

Harry was heartbroken.

He had just held onto a sliver of hope that Moody would let him off the hook and forgive him.

Moody lifted the Invisibility Cloak, revealing Harry and Ron.

"Ah, Potter and Weasley!" Professor Snape's face broke into a strange smile.

"Porter likes to wander around at night...it's just one of his many detestable bad habits."

Snape, with a smug look on his face, said in a sarcastic tone:

"For Potter's own safety, Professor Dumbledore would be willing to get out of bed and personally 'care' for the boy who had miraculously survived."

If the headmaster hadn't been so angry he died, he might have asked Potter why he was out for a night stroll in the middle of the night.

Harry shuddered at Snape's words.

Moody shook his head and said, "No, these two kids are injured and should be taken to the school hospital."

Harry was alright, just a bit bruised and swollen.

Ron's injuries were more serious; his nose was bleeding heavily, and his arm was broken.

"No..." Professor Snape said fiercely. "You should go see the headmaster."

Moody turned and stared at Snape, the torchlight sweeping across his distorted face, making the scars and the large hole in his nose appear deeper and more sinister than ever before.

"I said send it to the school hospital!" he said in a low voice.

Snape stared at Moody, his face expressionless. For a moment, neither of them moved or spoke.

After a moment, he said in a hoarse voice, "Whatever."

"However, because of Potter and Weasley's night outing, those two idiots... Gryffindor loses 500 points!" Professor Snape announced.

Moody didn't say anything, glanced in a certain direction, then waved his wand and left with Harry and Ron.

After everyone left, William's figure slowly appeared in the air.

He flicked his wand, and Hermione and Anne appeared beside him.

It was just a coincidence; the three of them had only just left Trinity's ship and entered the castle when they heard Myrtle crying.

William quickly cast a Disillusionment spell and hid to the side.

"Professor Moody just spotted us, William," Hermione whispered. "Why didn't he identify us?"

"Because when school started, Dumbledore told Moody that I could go to his office at night whenever I wanted," William explained.

Otherwise, given Moody's personality, he would definitely have dragged William out as well.

"Professor Snape deducted too many points!" Anne complained. "Five hundred points... Gryffindor is going to be at the bottom again!"

"It's alright, Anne, Gryffindor has been at the bottom for many years." William laughed.

You need to learn to get used to it.

Hermione and Anne both rolled their eyes at him.

"Alright, I'll take you two back to the lounge. Professor Moody will be searching the castle again in a bit."

William's guess was correct; Professor Moody conducted another large-scale search that night.

The Christmas dance party clearly brought together many couples.

Many students are secretly dating in the middle of the night.

Then, he was arrested.

When everyone woke up the next day, they suddenly discovered that they had lost a lot of their college points.

The Gryffindor class has the fewest.

Others who went out at night would only lose a maximum of fifty points. Harry and Ron, on the other hand, had two points deducted by Professor Snape.

One person is stronger than five!

Professor McGonagall questioned the severity of the penalty.

In the past, she thought that Gryffindor would be the biggest loser if they didn't win the House Cup, or even if they came in second.

Later, she thought that getting second place was not bad either.

After Harry and Ron enrolled, Professor McGonagall's expectations dropped again.

She realized that it was already quite an achievement as long as she didn't break the record for the lowest score.

Forget about the Academy Cup; last place is acceptable.

But Professor McGonagall could never have seen Gryffindor make history again.

Professor Snape also had an explanation for this.

In his words:

According to the famous Heinrich's Law,

Behind one exposed nighttime outing, there were 29 other nighttime outings, 300 failed attempts at nighttime outings, and 1000 other thoughts of going out at night.

Therefore, it's clear that deducting money from Harry and Ron, those two idiots, is already too little.

That's absolutely reasonable and well-founded!
