Chapter 47 Everyone Misses Snape
Chapter 47 Everyone Misses Snape (First Update)
"You are pitiful. We will not brew the potion for now. Instead, we will learn some wizarding care so that you will know what to do if you are injured."
After wandering around for a while, Mrs. Pomfrey said this.
For a moment, the classroom was filled with the sound of quill pens writing on parchment.
After everyone had finished copying what Mrs. Pomfrey had written on the blackboard, she asked, "Does each of you have a copy of 'The Complete Book of Nurses'?"
A murmur of approval rippled through the classroom.
“Alright,” said Mrs. Pomfrey. “This book has five volumes in total. Let’s start with the first volume.”
This volume has sixty chapters, each with three hundred sections. Please turn to page 5 and let's look at "Three Hundred Basic Mistakes for Beginners."
It was extremely boring, like listening to Professor Binns's History of Magic.
William began to play with the quill pen, quickly spinning it between his five fingers. He could also spin the textbook with both hands at the same time, just like a two-person comedy performer.
Qiu stared at the quill pen in William's hand, her pupils dilating, her mind wandering elsewhere.
Halfway through the lesson, Judy Crouch finally couldn't take it anymore and raised her hand.
"My dear, do you have any questions about this section?" Mrs. Pomfrey asked.
"No, it's not about the course content," Judy said.
"Since it's unrelated to this course, we can talk about it after class."
"Madam, I have a question about your course objectives," Judy said, standing up. "Isn't this Potions class? Aren't we supposed to be brewing potions?"
"Brewing potions?" Madam Pomfrey said with a soft laugh. "Of course we can. Don't worry, I will teach you how to brew medicine to treat wounds."
But that's for next year's curriculum. For now, let's focus on learning the most basic medical care.
Another young wizard raised his hand; it was Artur from Slytherin.
"Excuse me, where has Professor Snape gone?"
Madam Pomfrey was silent for a moment, then said softly, "Professor Snape has gone to help the Ministry of Magic investigate an incident. He will be back soon, and I will be filling in for him until then."
"Did Professor Snape attack the Ministry of Magic?" Ravenclaw's Bell Ryme shouted.
The whole class stared at Mrs. Pomfrey, who looked at them uneasily, but every face seemed to turn to her expectantly.
The unusual and intense interest shown by everyone put Mrs. Pomfrey in a very difficult position.
"That's impossible. Everyone must trust Professor Dumbledore..."
"But why was Professor Snape arrested?"
Mrs. Pomfrey was slightly annoyed.
"Who told you he was captured? That's utter nonsense," she said. "Professor Snape was sent out on a mission by Dumbledore on the day of the incident, alright!"
Mrs. Pomfrey stopped talking about the topic and went on to teach everyone to read.
Everyone was in a daze.
The first day without Snape, I miss him!
To motivate everyone, at the end of the course, Mrs. Pomfrey took out bandages and taught everyone how to safely apply them.
Qiu wrapped her little white rabbit with straps, one after another, as if she wanted to strangle it.
Marietta simply started playing bondage.
They sat fiddling with bandages, while Madam Pomfrey paced back and forth between the tables, picking up potions the students had made before and sniffing them.
"It's poorly made, so poorly made... That's not right. The blood-tonifying medicine is missing a white peony root, so what's the point?"
"Professor Snape actually gave it a score of two. If it were me, I would definitely give it no more than 0.5."
"My Merlin—" Madam Pomfrey exclaimed, picking up a bottle in shock, "Snape actually taught us how to make a vixen neutralizer! That stuff is harmful to children, how could he teach us such a thing?"
Mrs. Pomfrey expressed serious dissatisfaction with Snape's teaching plan.
In her view, only potions for healing injuries could be taught; everything else was considered dangerous!
In the short time that followed, Madam Pomfrey had already threatened to report Professor Snape and have Dumbledore dock his pay.
Poor Snape, he was in prison and yet trouble fell from the sky.
When he returns from the Ministry of Magic, he will probably find that his year-end bonus has been completely deducted.
After taking away several bottles, Mrs. Pomfrey turned to her and said, "Go back and write a paper on how to save a wizard who has accidentally drunk the Water of Life and Death."
The paper should be as long as a sheet of parchment and submitted to me by Monday. Professor Snape is not here; I should hurry you through this for him.
The Water of Life and Death is a very strong sleeping pill; large doses require stimulating the stomach to induce vomiting.
But that's not the point. This lesson should teach them how to brew the potion of life and death, not how to save a wizard who has accidentally drunk it!
Everyone got up and left the underground classroom. Once the people inside could no longer hear, they began to talk noisily about Mrs. Pomfrey.
"Madam Pomfrey is nothing like a Potions professor. She won't let us brew potions. How will we keep up during the exams?"
Unlike students in other houses, many Ravenclaw students are already starting to worry about their final exams.
Potions class is undoubtedly a very important class, requiring a lot of practice. If you do too poorly, you will be held back a year, and it will be difficult to pass the OWLs exam in fifth grade.
The Slytherins were more worried that Headmaster Snape might not return.
This dean, who favors his own college, may have a bit of a strange temper, but he's still quite satisfactory.
Not everyone was worried; Marietta was quite happy.
Mrs. Pomfrey gave her two extra points today because she tied the bandage with a pretty bow.
Overall, it is debatable whether Mrs. Pomfrey or Professor Snape was better.
Most Ravenclaw students still hope that Professor Snape will return.
Snape had a bad temper, but his men were truly capable, and he certainly wouldn't make them read things like "The Sow's Postpartum Care"... cough cough, "The Wizard's Post-Injury Care" or something like that.
However, William's attention was quickly drawn to other things:
Hagrid wrote to William, inviting him to the cabin to discuss important matters!
