A Certain Magical Hogwarts

Chapter 252 Confidentiality Agreement of 99

Chapter 252 Confidentiality Agreement of 99

The first lesson in third grade was divination, and the classroom was at the top of the North Tower.

Professor Trelawney has lived in this slightly remote place since she arrived at Hogwarts.

Ten minutes before class started, William, Autumn, and Marietta arrived at a platform.

A group of people were waiting at the platform.

It turned out there were no stairs nearby, and the door to the divination classroom was on the ceiling, where there was a trapdoor.

A unique classroom!

Suddenly, the trapdoor opened, and a silver ladder fell down.

People began to line up and slowly climb the silver stairs.

Thanks to Professor Trelawney's "good reputation," quite a few students chose this course, treating it as a required course to get a good grade.

William climbed the ladder and entered a strange classroom.

In reality, this is not a classroom at all, but rather a mixture of an attic and an old-fashioned teahouse.

If there were also sunflower seeds and an old man telling stories with a gavel, it would be even more like the real thing.

At least twenty small, round tables were crammed into the classroom. Each table was surrounded by an armchair with Indian-printed fabric and a puffy little cushion.

Everything was illuminated by a dim, scarlet light; the curtains were drawn, and many lamps were covered with deep red lampshades.

Judging from the decor, it's very similar to those special places William saw in his previous life, hidden in some deep alleys, unknown to most, but always manageable to be found.

William even studied why he had to wear red.

The red light is eye-catching; in the darkness, a red light is like a lighthouse in the sea, warm and captivating.

A red light also gives people a sense of mystery, urging them to enter that dark place... to explore.

William looked around and saw that, like most single women's rooms, it was a mess.

The circular wall was surrounded by shelves filled with dusty feathers, candle stubs, worn-out playing cards, countless silver crystal balls, and a large collection of tea sets.

It looks like it hasn't been cleaned in years.

As everyone entered the classroom, a voice suddenly came from the shadows—a dazed, indistinct voice.

It's somewhat like Luna's style.

"Welcome," the voice said. "It's so good to see you in the physical world."

Professor Trelawney walked into the firelight; she was very thin and wore large glasses.

She wore a light, sheer, shimmering shawl over her shoulders, and her slender neck was adorned with countless necklaces and beads. Her arms and hands were covered with bracelets and rings.

It looks like an antique!

Of course, it could also be fake.

"Sit down, my children, sit down." Trelawney seemed delighted to see so many students.

"To be honest, I'm both happy and sad that you're here."

"I am happy that you are all willing to follow me into the world of prophecy, but I am saddened by..."

Professor Trelawney suddenly choked up and wiped her nose with a floral handkerchief.

"I'm sorry, I lost my composure."

"Professor, what's wrong?" Judy Crouch of Slytherin asked boldly.

"Are you sick? We don't have to have class today?" Jon Hart guessed excitedly.

"You've been expelled by Professor Dumbledore?" Elena Kaslana exclaimed excitedly.

"Even if you get fired, I won't get fired." Professor Trelawney glared at her, then sighed.

"Alas, believe me, ignorance is bliss, children, you wouldn't want to know."

Professor Trelawney's words only fueled everyone's curiosity.

"I can't tell you, really!" Professor Trelawney shook her head. "It's about a prophecy, a millennium prophecy."

In 1999, wizards will sign a confidentiality agreement regarding this matter... Don't ask, I can't say, even though it's only 92 now!

Speaking it out will affect the future timeline and cause unpredictable disasters.

Perhaps everyone will die!

Everyone looked at each other, as if she meant the year 2000 was the end of the world.

William raised an eyebrow. Could it be that famous war to defend Earth from his past life?

To be fair, Professor Trelawney really is like a charlatan, especially when it comes to attracting the attention of young wizards; she's got a real knack for it!

After fooling everyone, Trelawney sat in an armchair in front of the fireplace, her eyes tightly closed, her voice ethereal.

"No matter what the future holds, you're still welcome to my divination class."

Choosing this course shows that you all possess some wisdom. You'll go further than those who take other courses.

William and Autumn exchanged a glance. Judging from Professor Trelawney's tone, students who didn't attend her classes were all idiots.

Professor Trelawney carefully adjusted her shawl and continued, "Since you chose the Divination class, you should be prepared that this will be the most difficult course of all the magical arts you will ever face."

Yes, I noticed that many students brought "Intermediate Transfiguration," and I must say that the difficulty of this course far exceeds that of Transfiguration itself.

Even Minerva has to admit this.

Everyone looked on with suspicion. They didn't know how difficult Transfiguration was, but divination was known to be easy.

All you need is some skill in lying.

This ability is something many people are born with, especially witches.

"I know you all have doubts. After class, you can ask Professor McGonagall what grade she got in her Divination class when she took the OWLs level exam."

Professor Trelawney continued, "Before we begin, I must remind you: without a 'vision,' there is very little I can teach you; it requires talent."

I don't mean to boast, but in this day and age, there are very few prophets with a vision as broad as mine.

Otherwise, why would Professor Dumbledore have invited me to teach this course?

By the way, he even gave me a raise last year, just to keep me, even though I saw it all along with my clairvoyance.

This is a question many people want to know the answer to. Many upperclassmen believe that Professor Trelawney is Dumbledore's illegitimate daughter.

She wandered around the classroom like a ghost.

"Many witches and wizards, despite their genius in making loud, clattering noises, smelling things, and suddenly becoming invisible, cannot see through the fog and understand the future."

Professor Trelawney continued, her large, gleaming eyes scanning the crowd.

"This kind of talent is possessed by only a few. You, child—" she suddenly said to Judy Crouch, "How is your uncle?"

"I think it's a good idea," Judy said, shrinking back.

"Oh, I don't think so. He's in big trouble."

Professor Trelawney used a combination of intimidation and persuasion to finally capture everyone's attention.
