Chapter 51 Graduation

"Shadow Dance Leaf!"

Inside the examination hall of the Konoha Ninja Academy.

A relatively short figure launched an attack on the opponent.

"Oh! You're going to use the same move I just used against me?"

At this moment, in this battle, the examiner, Hiromi Mizutani, spoke for the first time. He was slightly surprised that the Uchiha examinee opposite him was attacking him using the same technique he had just used.

However, he didn't slow down his movements, bringing his hands together under his chin. Taking advantage of his height, he easily caught Toshiro's attack.

"Konoha Gale!"

There was no response to what the other person said.

Taking advantage of his short stature and agility, he leaped onto one leg and landed at head level with Hiromi Mizutani.

He launched a spinning low kick at him, but due to the height, the effect was exactly the same as the "Leaf Whirlwind" he had just used.

His right arm shot up to block the opponent's attack aimed at his head. Mizutani Hiromi seized the opportunity to firmly grasp the opponent's attacking right leg. Using his waist to generate power, he swung Toshiro around three or four times before launching him far away.

With a light turn, he landed on his feet, his body leaning forward and leaving a long trail on the ground.

At this moment, a large circle of shuriken and kunai were scattered around Mizutani Hiromi in the arena. These were the traces left behind during his battle with his opponent.

In the close-quarters combat with the kunai, his opponent didn't give him any advantage. Using his extensive experience, the opponent tore his jacket several times. If it weren't for his keen senses, he might have already been bleeding.

"Alright! The assessment time is up. Both parties shall form the seal of reconciliation!"

Hearing this, Toshiro breathed a sigh of relief. In the battle just now, although he had held back in terms of ninjutsu, genjutsu, strength, and speed, his opponent had still given him a hard time in close combat with taijutsu and kunai.

Being a ninja is definitely not a profession that can be easily mastered.

This was merely an elderly Chunin from Konoha Village. Even so, his extensive combat experience taught him a vivid lesson!

In the previous exchange, aside from the initial few tentative moves, Mizutani Hiromi did not demonstrate much power or speed that surpassed his own.

Instead, they overwhelmed him with strength, speed, and experience slightly exceeding what he displayed. They used basic Konoha taijutsu and the Three Body Techniques, which were taught at the Ninja Academy.

Next, he was directed to wait in an empty classroom. As time passed, one by one, the ninja academy students who had passed the assessment arrived there.

"Kakashi, you're really cold-hearted!"

"..."

"What, don't you remember me? You didn't even call me 'senior,' how rude of you!"

"..."

Inside the classroom, Toshiro was idly teasing Kakashi Hatake. Although Kakashi was now a serving genin in Konoha, he was still just a five-and-a-half-year-old brat. He thoroughly enjoyed teasing the future Sixth Hokage.

"Hey Kakashi, why are you covering your face with a mask? I remember you were quite beautiful and pretty back then!"

With a pair of dead fish eyes staring at the annoying guy in the seat next to him who was chattering incessantly, Kakashi finally remembered who this person was.

I remember it was two or three years ago, when I was playing in the street and bumped into someone. Afterwards, my father talked to the other person, and my mother even forced me to apologize to him.

They also asked some annoying questions.

"Huh! Really? Toshiro, does this guy really have a very handsome face under that mask?"

Upon hearing this, Uchiha Homura, who was standing nearby, couldn't sit still any longer. She turned her head and stared with her big, dark eyes, scrutinizing Hatake Kakashi's face from head to toe, looking completely incredulous.

The young girl had also successfully graduated and was now sitting next to Toshiro with a smile on her face. Clearly, she was very happy to have graduated early and become a ninja.

Even the students sitting next to him were all listening intently, looking at Kakashi with curious expressions. After all, as the youngest graduate present, he was simply too eye-catching.

"More than just beautiful! Let me tell you, what's under this guy's mask..."

As he spoke, he clasped his hands together and placed them near Uchiha Homura's ear, looking quite mysterious.

"Shut up!"

Even though he was feeling down, seeing Uchiha Toshiro looking like he was about to reveal his secret made his eyes twitch, and he quickly interrupted.

"Fine then! If the person involved doesn't want to talk about it, then let's just leave it at that!"

Before he could even catch his breath, he heard Toshiro speak again.

"However, it's truly a shame you didn't get to see Kakashi's stunning good looks!"

"Really?"

"You're kidding, right?"

"What do you mean by 'stunningly beautiful'? You're exaggerating!"

Listening to Toshiro's speech and seeing the curious and inquisitive gazes around him, even someone as aloof as him was momentarily speechless.

How did someone who loves to talk so much become a ninja?

[Just as I suspected, my gut feeling was right; this guy is really annoying!]

Unaware of Kakashi's thoughts, Toshiro smiled with narrowed eyes, looking at Kakashi Hatake, whose face was covered in black lines.

He wasn't intentionally teasing him; he just felt that Kakashi needed some emotions other than sadness at this time, so that he wouldn't be constantly immersed in the pain of his father's death.

Not long after, almost everyone had arrived. The classroom door opened, and the first person to walk in was the Third Hokage, Hiruzen Sarutobi, dressed in a Hokage robe.

"First of all, congratulations to everyone on becoming a full-fledged, active ninja of Konoha..."

"..."

"In short, wherever the leaves dance, the fire will continue to burn, its light will continue to illuminate the village, and allow new leaves to take root and sprout."

[No matter where you are, leaders always speak like this...]

Looking at the Third Hokage, who had been giving a long speech on the podium for almost half an hour, Toshiro couldn't help but mutter to himself.

The Third Hokage, who had been conducting "Monkey Tutoring" for over an hour, felt quite satisfied looking at the enthusiastic new ninjas below the stage.

Even Toshiro had no choice but to join in the excited applause. He wasn't about to be so stubborn as to voice a different opinion on the "Will of Fire" at this crucial moment; he was just going to let his superiors off easy as usual…

Without lingering, the Third Hokage gave the students a gentle smile and then turned and left.
