Chapter 52 Obito

"Now, those whose names are called, please come forward one by one to receive your headbands."

At this moment, the few green-vested ninjas who remained in place carried out a large wooden box, inside which were neatly stacked ninja headbands.

"Wow, that's so cool! Is that our headband?"

"I can't wait to wear it!"

The propaganda work in Konoha was quite impressive. Upon seeing the headbands in the box, the young ninjas' eyes lit up, and they were eager to try them out. Some even said they wanted to take them home to show their parents.

Toshiro couldn't empathize with their excited expressions. He was the first to go on stage to receive his headband, and while smiling, he accepted the headband from the teacher but didn't put it on.

He discovered something that made him a little embarrassed. On a whim and yearning for his childhood dream of wandering the world, he grew his hair into a single ponytail.

If you're wearing a headband now, you can either tie your ponytail high like Mitarashi Anko, or tie it into a low ponytail like Kakashi's father, Konoha's White Fang.

After much deliberation, he decided to tie his headband around his arm. Yes! He could lose a fight, but he couldn't mess up his hairstyle!

"Congratulations everyone on receiving your headbands! Also, just a heads-up: everyone please gather in classroom XX at 9:00 AM tomorrow morning. The school will assign you to classes!"

Looking at the excited little ninjas chattering below, the teacher in charge of distributing headbands at the podium didn't feel too much responsibility.

Instead, he smiled and offered a reminder.

Class assignments? Too bad, that has nothing to do with me!

Toshiro, standing in the crowd, felt a slight pang of regret. He still wanted to experience the normal life of a ninja team. After all, love triangles were the most interesting things O_o

As the crowd slowly walked out of the classroom, Toshiro went to his second-year (1) class to say goodbye to everyone.

[The Lunar New Year is about a month away. After the New Year, I will have been in this world for four whole years.]

[Has such a long time really passed without me realizing it? My memory is starting to get a little hazy!]

[I've finally become a full-fledged ninja! Now I must train even harder!]

Recognizing his own shortcomings, Toshiro thought slowly as he walked home.

"Isn't this Obito? What are you doing here all by yourself?"

As I walked along, I unknowingly encountered a wild Obito.

"Brother Toshiro, what brings you here? Congratulations on successfully graduating as a ninja!"

"Thanks! But what are you doing out here at this hour instead of attending ninja school?"

How should he face this greatest nemesis? Uchiha Toshiro was extremely conflicted. Thinking about what the other party had done in the end, and Madara lurking in the shadows, all of this made him hesitant.

The current Obito is truly a sunny and kind young man. Perhaps it's because he himself is a war orphan raised by his widowed grandmother. He has almost no resistance to the elderly people in the entire Hidden Leaf Village.

He would drop everything to help anyone who was even slightly in trouble. Even his teachers at the ninja academy, after learning of this, felt too embarrassed to scold him for being late.

A laissez-faire attitude was adopted.

Although his classmates often mocked his strength, they didn't reject this "funny" Uchiha and were all willing to be his friend.

Even within his own family, he wasn't bullied. In any case, he was far superior to those children who hadn't refined their chakra.

This makes him proud to be a member of the Uchiha clan.

However, in Toshiro's opinion, Obito was simply not suited to be a ninja. His emotional control was far too poor, and a crucial standard in ninja training is the ability to maintain a calm and collected mind at all times.

This kid is incredibly impulsive, always teary-eyed. His mental resilience is abysmal, and he doesn't seem to be very bright. Although it will bring him convenience in unlocking the Sharingan, his bloodline limit.

However, his intelligence is truly worrisome, which explains why Madara ultimately chose him to carry out the Eye of the Moon project.

"Ah! No! No! Brother Toshiro! Listen to me!"

Caught red-handed skipping class, even though the teacher wasn't a senior member of the clan, Obito's face flushed red with excitement as he quickly stood up to defend himself.

"Alright! No need to explain to me. I can tell from your expression that you're discouraged because Kakashi graduated early!"

"Um!"

Having his secret exposed, the leader's mood plummeted again. He plopped back down on the bench where he had just been sitting, head down, lost in thought, his expression dejected.

This guy's mood is really something else, like a child's face, changing in an instant like the weather in June!

"Brother Toshiro, do you think I can catch up with a genius like Kakashi?"

After a moment of silence, Obito suddenly looked up and asked the clan elder beside him.

【I'm not Rin Nohara, why are you asking me these questions?】

He silently muttered a complaint in his mind, but Toshiro didn't avoid the question. Instead, he sat down next to him, glanced at him, and said calmly.

"You're a bit slow-witted, so let me give you a simple analogy!"

"Take you as an example. If you do nothing every day and just play around, your strength will increase by 1 every day. If you train a certain amount every day, your strength will increase by 1.1. If you practice diligently every day, your strength will increase by 1.2."

"Do you know how much the difference will be after one year?"

"What will the difference be like in 10, 20, or 30 years?"

After hearing Toshiro's words, Obito Uchiha, whose mind was somewhat blank, was momentarily lost in thought.

At his current age and with limited knowledge, he couldn't fully grasp the meaning behind Toshiro's words. However, he vaguely understood that the other man was urging him to diligently train.

"You'll have to think about these things yourself. I'm leaving now; someone's here to see you!"

"Obito~"

From afar, a melodious child's voice could be heard calling Obito's name. Toshiro then stopped trying to force-feed him chicken soup and got up to leave.

[It's best to leave this guy's emotions to Rin Nohara to handle!]

He had thought about this a long time ago.

You can approach Obito, but you can't become close to him. Leaving aside Madara Uchiha lurking behind him, just thinking about the things Obito did after his descent into darkness is enough to give you a headache.

Should I take advantage of this guy's young age and kill him now...? (⊙o⊙)
