Chapter 191 Rules

Chapter 191 Rules

Despite Thor's disdain, Victor smiled and said, "Don't worry, even if I'm stuck in this godforsaken place forever, I'll still find you the treasure."

Suppressing the urge to roll his eyes, Thor slipped into the next room.

The moment he pushed open the door, his vision suddenly became bright.

Sunlight streamed into the room, the windows were wide open, and the sheer curtains fluttered high in the breeze.

There were three people in the room: one woman and two men.

They all huddled in a corner of the room, their faces filled with terror.

As Thor pushed open the door, one of the men instinctively pulled the trigger of his crossbow at him.

"Whoosh!"

"Whoosh...click!"

Before Thor could react, a black tentacle appeared like lightning, opened its huge, dark mouth, and snatched the arrow in its jaws.

Little Algae suddenly appeared, quickly chewed up and swallowed the arrows that were shot at her, then spat them out with a "pui pui pui" sound the next second.

Although the arrowhead it spat out was deformed, a dark green halo could still be seen on the metal.

"Poisoning?"

Thor glanced down and then looked up at the three people.

The three people opposite looked at Thor with despair. Two of them ran straight to the open window, while the remaining woman went even further, crawling under the bed.

Did she think Thor was too bulky to catch up?

Saul glanced at the woman's exposed feet, then looked out the window at the two men who had jumped down.

He didn't hear the sound of them landing after they jumped.

This is the second floor. Judging from their attire, those two should be adventurers. This height should be no problem for them.

Saul placed one hand on the windowsill and looked down.

Outside the window is a garden bathed in dazzling sunlight, and directly below is a neatly manicured, lush green lawn.

But there was no one on the lawn.

With Thor's hearing, even if the two men had disappeared into another room mid-air, he should have heard some noise, not this eerie silence, as if the two men had never existed.

"Did they also travel through time?"

Thor paused by the window for a moment. "It can't be that simple. If time and space could be traversed so easily, the Tower Master, who can teleport, wouldn't be such a fearsome top-tier second-tier wizard."

Thor walked back from the window and began to carefully observe everything in the room, trying to find clues and unravel the secret of the time-space shifts here.

As he looked around, he suddenly noticed a foot tucked under the bed.

Oh, it's that foolish woman.

Thor walked over, grabbed the slender ankle, and pulled it outwards sharply.

However, apart from his ankle, he couldn't pull anything out.

The woman who crawled under the bed disappeared, leaving behind a broken foot with an uneven cut.

It looked like it had been eaten by something.

He frowned and casually tossed aside his still-bleeding foot.

"They disappear when they jump out of the window, and they disappear when they crawl under the bed. Why are they so decisive in jumping out of the window and crawling under the bed? Are they afraid of me, or have they already mastered the laws of time travel?"

Thor crouched down and looked under the bed, then glanced at the window, and finally decided to... exit through the front door.

The doorway was still a spacious porch, but thanks to the light streaming in from the opposite balcony, it was much brighter and lacked the eerie atmosphere that usually lingered on rainy days.

It was as if the world had been torn in two.

Half of the world is a rainy day with dark clouds looming over the city and lightning flashing and thunder roaring;

Half of it is a sunny world with bright sunshine and gentle breezes.

"My first time traveling between the rainy and sunny worlds was similar. The first time I went through a door, I arrived in the sunny world. The second time I went through that door, I was still in the sunny world, and I saw the knight who had just come in. But when I went through that door for the third time, I returned to the rainy world."

Thor still couldn't find any flaws here, even with his naked eye and his spiritual perception.

It is very likely that the power of the rules here is stronger than Thor's strength.

Trying to break through by brute force would be extremely difficult.

"Does going through the door allow me to travel to different worlds? If I don't go through the same door a third time, and instead choose to enter another room, can I return to the rainy world?"

In a rainy world, there is that mysterious Victor.

Thor was unsure of the other party's strength and purpose, so he did not plan to return to reunite with his "brother" for the time being.

He simply continued walking down the corridor.

He didn't go into any of the rooms he encountered along the way, since what Thor was looking for was unlikely to be in those places anyway.

He stopped at the end of the corridor and looked at the spiral staircase in front of him.

The stairs here are not connected to the ones Thor just came up. However, there is a downward passage that seems to lead to other areas on the first floor.

Ralph's castle is not very grand, with about four stories, and the tallest tower probably only has six stories.

Thor stood on the stairs, hesitating whether to go up or down.

"Let's ask someone with experience."

Saul lowered his head, calling out to his diary in his heart.

"Brother Diary, please bring out Lord Morton."

The diary flew out and flipped directly to the last black page.

After the diary absorbed the consciousness of Morton, a second-tier wizard, Thor would occasionally ask him some unimportant common sense questions.

I'm hesitant to ask overly technical questions, fearing that advanced knowledge might lead to advanced risks.

On the contrary, Bill's consciousness provided Saul with a lot of guidance in his daily studies.

However, both Bill and Herman, who traveled on land, were only third-level apprentices, and their consciousness was being consumed too quickly.

While Saul was frantically conducting experiments, both of their handwriting had become as fine as a hair.

This made Saul afraid to ask them any more questions, lest he accidentally ruin a black page.

Morton's consciousness energy was still sufficient, but unfortunately, Morton had been an evil spirit for many years and had forgotten much of his knowledge.

"Lord Morton, have you heard of the Bloodthorn family?"

[Bloodthorn? Never heard of it, but I've heard of the Blood Rose family; they were loyal followers of mine in the Battle of Handle Valley. By the way, Bloodthorn seems to be a branch of the Blood Rose family.]

"Conquering the Valley of Fallen Hands? No need to ask, they'll be wiped out. Perhaps the Bloodthorn Clan's decline was due to the withering of the Blood Rose. Lord Morton, do you know how the Bloodthorn Clan rose to prominence?"

A family capable of passing down the Death Wizard's Diary—even if they never figured out the diary's true secret—should not remain unknown as Morton believed.

[How could I possibly care about such trivial matters? But Bloodthorn... seems to be famous for its flesh-and-blood magic in the dark element. Tsk, I can't remember. Am I really getting old? Why can't I remember many things? I wasn't like this before; even the smallest thing could be remembered clearly.]

Saul seemed to be telling Morton that he wasn't old, he was dead.

However, Thor has never told the characters in the diary that they are actually dead in reality. There's no need, and Thor is also afraid that their consciousness will break down if they learn of their deaths.

"What is flesh and blood magic?"

[Ha, just the rise of a bandit. Devouring his own kind, extracting their essence, and gaining an energy boost. But this kind of witchcraft has a great hidden danger. He can't devour those of different kinds, otherwise, ha, he might very well forget he was originally a human being.]

This doesn't seem to have anything to do with The Deathly Hallows' Diary.

Since flesh magic is based on robber logic, then the Death Wizard's Diary may not necessarily be a legacy of the Bloodthorn family.

Perhaps they stole someone else's legacy.

"In that case, Lord Morton, if you were to analyze it, where would you place the Bloodthorn family's most important laboratory within their residence?"

[Flesh and blood magic, hehe, that's dark-attribute, so it's best done underground.]

"Underground?" Thor pondered.

This castle is out of place in time, but the rooms seem to have never been in different locations.

Ralph's laboratory is very likely still underground!

Thor went down the stairs to a small living room, and beyond his sight, there were probably other rooms and passageways.

Just as Thor was thinking about what to do next, a hand suddenly landed on his shoulder.

"Sol, so you were here."

Thor froze, then turned around and saw Victor standing on the upper floor of the stairs, peering down.

"Brother...you've come to Sunny World too?"
