Death Wizard Diary.

Chapter 192 Spiritual Force Field

Chapter 192 Spiritual Force Field

"You call this place Sunny World?" Victor withdrew his hand, then couldn't resist pressing it onto the strings again. "That's a very ordinary name. Maybe I can give it a more poetic one... Yesterday Once More, how about it?"

As he spoke, Victor gently plucked a string.

"Thump—"

Sol doesn't understand music, but he thinks that playing high and low notes together sounds pretty good.

He suddenly asked urgently, "Victor, have you found the treasure?"

Victor's fingers paused on the strings. "Uh, well, no..."

Thor sighed. "The old wizard and the boy came in with us. What if they find the treasure before we do?"

"No, they won't," Victor said firmly. "Even if they find it first, it doesn't matter. I'll get it back for you."

"That old man is a level three apprentice."

Victor assured him, "Don't worry, I'll risk my life to help you get the treasure back."

Looking at Victor's expression, Thor got goosebumps all over.

"Let's split up; that way we can find it faster."

Unexpectedly, Victor disagreed this time.

"I've searched this floor and the floor below, but there's nothing good there."

Victor grabbed Thor's arm and pulled him up the stairs.

"Let's go upstairs and take a look."

Victor is incredibly strong!

Before Thor could react, he was pulled up the stairs and couldn't resist at all.

"This guy may not just be a second-level apprentice. If we want to find out the secret of the diary, we have to get rid of him first."

Thor was thinking about how to shake off Victor when he suddenly froze.

Seeing that Thor was standing still, Victor went up to him, pulled him over, and led him up the stairs.

Thor instinctively wanted to resist, but then relaxed and followed Victor forward.

His gaze kept shifting between what was in front of him and Victor's back, his expression growing increasingly calm.

Just as the two reached the middle of the third and second floors, several more figures appeared in front of them.

The group of people were dressed in smart mercenary attire, but they all looked disheveled, hunched over, and peering upstairs.

It seemed as if they were hiding from something.

Victor stepped onto the next step, his shoes making a dull thud as they struck the carpeted stone steps.

The mercenaries upstairs, who were like startled birds, immediately turned around and stared at them with wide eyes.

They thought the men would breathe a sigh of relief when they realized it was two men coming up, but to their surprise, their expressions instantly became even more ferocious, their fear practically turning into juice.

"Ahhh—"

They rushed uphill in a swarm, as if Thor and Victor were some kind of monster.

In the blink of an eye, the four or five people who were originally on the stairs had all disappeared.

Thor and his companion remained standing in place.

Thor looked at Victor suspiciously. "What did you do to them?"

Victor raised his harp to cover his face. "I didn't see them at all when I came down."

Thor recalled the actions and looks of those people, and suddenly turned to look downstairs.

Victor stood beside Thor, his eyes following him.

The stairs were empty, but Thor seemed to see something and ran down a few steps.

Then he turned around and looked up again.

"What are you doing?" Victor asked curiously.

Thor stopped, and after a few seconds slowly said, "No wonder... those people didn't see me, nor you."

Victor was taken aback by what he heard, and his gaze toward Thor changed slightly.

Thor continued, "Their gaze was actually fixed on this spot just now."

He pointed to his feet, "In other words, what truly frightens them isn't us, but the people who just appeared here... or the monsters."

"But we just came up from there." Victor turned around, one hand on the railing and the other holding his harp.

"I used to think that the change between rainy and sunny days was because we traveled through different timelines, which allowed us to meet people who appeared here in the past. But as a declining family whose highest level of official wizard is only first-tier, it's too much to ask them to play the time travel trope."

Victor's smile gradually faded. He raised his hand, his fingers hooking on the strings, as if he were about to pluck them at any moment.

"Why is that?"

Thor looked at Victor, one hand supporting his chin and the other under his elbow, his eyes scanning the surrounding buildings.

"It's spirits! Many people have died here, but for some reason, their spirits haven't dissipated; instead, they've gathered in this castle. Ordinary people's spirits are very weak, but because their numbers are increasing, coupled with some other influence, they've formed a spirit force field powerful enough to interfere with human consciousness."

Victor's lips gradually curled up, but this time his smile was somewhat eerie. "Some kind of influence... that must be the treasure we're looking for."

He held out his hand to Thor. "Come, my clever brother, I think the treasure you've been searching for is waiting for us up there. If you have that treasure, you can advance to level three and become a powerful, fully-fledged wizard!"

Thor stared intently at the other man, his feet motionless. "But there's still one thing I don't understand."

"Instead of just thinking, we should just take action. If we waste any more time, the old man and the little boy will probably find the treasure first." Victor's fingers glided across the strings. "The most important places in this kind of castle are the master's room and the secret chamber, especially the secret chamber, which requires careful searching. We may not have much time."

"No, blindly searching is a waste of time," Thor said with certainty, even closing his eyes to recall everything he had seen upon entering the castle.

Enter the castle.

Heavy rain falls.

I saw a kneeling knight and a faceless man.

The old wizard and his apprentice came in and said there was a problem with the rain.

Thor and Victor enter the Sunny World as they head to the next room.

Thor returned to the front hall alone and saw Olaf, David, and others who had just entered two weeks prior.

When they were about to take Olaf and David away, the two disappeared, but the holy oil they had given to Thor remained.

I saw Victor coming down from upstairs.

Go to the consultation room on the second floor, enter the Sunny World, and you will meet the three mercenaries.

The mercenaries all disappeared when they fled, leaving only a foot that had been bitten off by something.

Continue exploring the sunny world, and you'll see Victor coming down from upstairs again in the stairwell.

The two appeared together in Sunny World.

As they went upstairs, they saw more mercenaries, dressed differently from the three they had seen before.

But the fear is consistent.

"I always thought they were afraid of me, and that I was the one they attacked." Thor slowly opened his eyes. "But apart from having clear conversations with Olaf and David, no one else has ever said a word to me."

Was it that they didn't want to communicate with the suddenly appearing Thor, or were the mercenaries who had entered the castle in the past seeing an enemy who couldn't be communicated with as someone standing at the door and on the stairs?

"So, I thought I was meeting the dead from the past, but in reality, I was just seeing what they were like before they died, or rather, what they were like in their last moments before death."

So the figure that jumped out of the window disappeared instantly, and the person hiding under the bed was also swallowed up by something, with only one foot left outside, and then... it was bitten off!

I went out with my family; Chapter Two will be in the evening.
