Chapter 190 Awakening

Chapter 190 Awakening

However, Thor has finally returned to the normal timeline.

"Victor?" he asked, searching for his brother.

But still no one responded to him.

Saul returned to the front hall.

There was no one in the front hall, the door was wide open, and the floor tiles in front of the door were covered with rainwater.

The gate was shaking, like a person's restless soul.

Lightning struck, and in the white light, Thor saw the knight kneeling on the ground once more, this time seeing the knight's face clearly.

It really was Olaf.

This Olaf was not as composed as he was two weeks ago. His face was full of panic, and blood was flowing from the corners of his eyes and nostrils, dripping onto his dull armor.

But compared to David, at least his facial features were not missing.

What happened to them?

"Victor has disappeared somewhere." Even back in the present, Thor still hasn't seen his brother, and he's getting anxious.

"I should be asking you where you've been!" But a familiar voice rang out behind him.

Thor turned around and saw Victor running down the stairs.

Victor ran to Thor's side and circled him. Relieved to find he had no wounds, he breathed a sigh of relief.

"Where did you go? You disappeared in a flash of lightning. Is there some kind of witchcraft trap here?"

"I suddenly found myself in a timeline from half a month ago. I don't know if it's a hallucination or a real time warp. I even saw the group of soldiers who entered here half a month ago."

"A spacetime distortion? Impossible! Even a third-tier wizard couldn't do that." Victor waved his harp. "Maybe we should leave. It's too dangerous here! Perhaps that treasure was never meant to be ours."

"Baby..." Thor hesitated for a moment, "No, it's not time to quit yet. Although the spacetime is distorted, I haven't encountered any real danger."

Victor looked at his brother with sorrow.

"Silly brother, what treasure could be more important than your life?"

Even so, Thor showed no sign of giving up. He had come all this way and had to find the treasure.

"What are you holding in your hand?" Victor pointed to the small bottle that Thor was clutching tightly in his hand.

Thor raised his hand to show Victor, "It's something from that squad of soldiers, called holy water. It has some effect on ordinary spirits."

Victor glanced at it.

"A inferior product, not even half the effectiveness of a Holy Light spell. What pathetic fools! They don't even know what they're facing, yet they wield weapons made of straw and step into the jackal's den. What are you keeping them for?"

"If I encounter a spirit in a while, I'll try it out."

"Do you want to see if it's an illusion?"

"Not entirely," Thor explained. "This thing is unstable and easily evaporates, and ordinary people don't have the means to store it. If it was an item brought in by those knights half a month ago, it should have already expired. If it hasn't expired yet..."

Victor suddenly realized and continued, "That means you did bring something back about two weeks ago."

"That place is terrifying." Thor licked his chapped lips and lowered his voice.

Despite saying it was terrible, Thor still had no intention of quitting.

"Where did you go? Why did you come downstairs?"

"I went back to the room in front as soon as you disappeared. The old wizard and the boy, hearing that you were missing, kindly helped me look for you. But we went our separate ways, and I don't know where they are now."

"Hmph, looking for people is just a pretense, finding the treasure is what they really want, isn't it?" Thor immediately became alert and quickly shoved Victor. "Let's hurry up and get there, or someone else will steal the treasure."

The two arrived at the stairs opposite the room.

The staircase here is made of stone, and a red velvet carpet extends from the staircase all the way to the hall.

However, due to long-term neglect, its vibrant colors have faded.

Climbing the steps, you'll find another spacious porch, with a large semi-circular balcony on one side.

Through the solid floor-to-ceiling windows, one can see the flowers on the balcony being ravaged by wind and rain.

Amidst the flashes of lightning and thunder, Thor vaguely saw a slender figure fall from the balcony railing.

It was a fall, not a roll.

Because the person fell headfirst.

Seeing Thor stop and look at the balcony, Victor also stopped.

"What's wrong?"

"I think..." Thor shook his head. "No, it's nothing. Let's look around here."

On the other side of the porch are rows of rooms.

The door was carved with exquisite patterns, but the lock was somewhat damaged.

"I wonder if any of my treasures are hidden in these rooms. Let's split up and search," Saul suggested.

But Victor hesitated, "What if you disappear again..."

"Even if we act together, this spacetime will still be disordered." Thor spread his hands.

Victor fell silent.

It wasn't until a clap of thunder made them both look out the window that he agreed to Thor's request.

"Alright, let's split up then."

Saul nodded and immediately entered a room in the middle of the corridor.

He walked around inside but didn't find anything. When he came out, he saw Victor still standing expressionless in the corridor.

"What's wrong?" Thor looked at him blankly.

A smile appeared on Victor's face. "It's nothing, just to see if you'll still disappear."

After saying that, he went into the room next to Thor's.

Thor waited until the other person went inside before moving to the other room.

After entering, Thor casually closed the door, leaving only a small crack.

He hid behind the wall, suppressing his voice, and slowly exhaled a large breath.

Thor's pupils trembled slightly, and the cold sweat he had been suppressing for so long was stirring restlessly in his pores.

He took several deep breaths, desperately suppressing his body's instinctive fear response.

"This Victor..." He couldn't help but swallow hard. "Who exactly is he?"

Thor tilted his head, his gaze sweeping over his left shoulder before quickly straightening it again.

"The diary offered no clues. Victor and I inexplicably became brothers, and when I just met Wizard Kron, I completely forgot I'd ever seen him before. Is this due to the manor's influence, or is someone manipulating things behind the scenes? Could it be Sid's grandfather, Ralph? Is he the danger the Tower Master spoke of?"

Just over ten minutes earlier, when Saul heard the sound and climbed over the wall of Ralph Manor, his perception suddenly became severely confused as his feet landed on the soft grass.

He actually thought he had entered the manor to steal a treasure that was very important to him.

But aside from feeling that the treasure was very important, Thor didn't even know what the treasure was. It was like a drowning person desperately trying to grab onto a straw, but not knowing what they could actually grasp.

But the most terrifying thing was that Thor actually believed that the senior second-level apprentice named Victor who was traveling with him was his own brother.

Ironically, Thor had never even seen this person before he scaled the wall and landed on the ground.

At first, Thor had no idea.

It wasn't until he first entered the sunlit hall that he realized his consciousness was distorted.

He not only forgot his true purpose for coming here, but also forgot his own identity.

Eliminate the troubles left behind by West Germany, and incidentally search for clues to the Death Wizard's Diary.

It was only when he remembered the name of the diary that Saul's hazy consciousness and cognition gradually returned to normal.

So what about Victor? Is he the mastermind behind all the chaos, or a victim like Thor?

"Sol?"

Just as Thor was pondering this, Victor's call came from the corridor again.

Thor got up and casually wandered around the room. "What is it?"

"...It's nothing, just checking if my poor little brother has disappeared."

Thor maintained his original tone and demeanor, walked out of the room, and waved to Victor, who was standing not far away looking at him. "Hurry up, let's find the treasure as soon as possible and get out of this hellhole as soon as possible."
