In the Apocalypse, I Can Enter Hogwarts

Chapter 90 Transformation Club

Chapter 90 Transformation Club

Hearing Professor McGonagall's call, Ian quickly put down what he was doing, got up and went over, asking with some questions:

"Professor McGonagall, is there something you need?"

After everyone had mostly left, Professor McGonagall spoke to Ian in a relaxed tone:

"I heard about you from Percy today. Although I've always trusted you, I still want to say that I hope you will abide by the school rules instead of using Phoenix for other purposes."

"Of course, Professor. I've practically come to think of Hogwarts as my own home, and I have no intention of hiding anything about the phoenix."

Ian was speaking from the heart. In the wizarding world, he was all alone and had no ties. Hogwarts was his anchor point in this world.

"Yes, that's why I've always trusted you. If you weren't willing, no one would have discovered the Phoenix's existence." Professor McGonagall said, then looked at Ian apologetically, and continued:

"After all, I am the head of Gryffindor. I can't remain indifferent after learning about this. I still need to talk to you about it. I hope you understand..."

"I completely understand, Professor McGonagall. Actually, I only did that last time because of the curfew. It won't happen again."

Ian was telling the truth; there was no need for a next time. He had only done it to support Hermione before, and once was enough. Doing it too often would have the opposite effect.

"Okay, these are all minor matters. I called you here today for something else. Have you finished reading the notes I gave you for the Transformation course? Did you encounter any problems along the way? It seems you've never come to my office even once."

Listening carefully to what Professor McGonagall said, Ian clearly knew that there was more to come, and that the phoenix was perhaps just a prelude, mentioned only briefly by the other party.

Since that's the case, Ian didn't intend to hide anything: "I've roughly finished studying the contents of the notebook and am preparing to return it to you in a while. There were some minor issues, but I've already found the answers in the library, so I haven't come to you."

Actually, Hermione had already returned the notebook to him, but he had been so busy lately that he had forgotten about it.

"Oh? Are you sure? Also, I wasn't asking you to return the notes."

Now it was Professor McGonagall's turn to be surprised. No one knew the contents of the notes better than her. Perhaps they were only suitable for beginners at first, but the later pages clearly involved more advanced content, such as the transformation of living things in the third year and the transformation of elements in the fifth year.

In response to Professor McGonagall's question, Ian gave an affirmative answer: "Yes, I'm quite sure. I really enjoy Transfiguration, so I take it just as seriously as any other course."

"So, may I ask you how far you've progressed in Transfiguration?" Professor McGonagall was clearly pleased to hear Ian's answer, so she asked him as well.

"What level?" This question stumped Ian. To be honest, he wasn't quite sure what level he was at. He stroked his chin, somewhat uncertainly saying, "Roughly, around fifth grade?"

"What?" Professor McGonagall's eyes widened in disbelief, as if she couldn't believe what she had just heard. "Do you know what fifth-year Transfiguration involves?"

Upon hearing this, Ian calmly drew his wand, knowing that a thousand explanations were less effective than showing the other person what they saw.

"Vera Verto..." Ian gently waved his wand, tapping it on a textbook on the table. Instantly, the heavy textbook transformed into a light, miniature phoenix. He then controlled the phoenix to fly around the classroom once, before it turned into a ball of flame and disappeared on its way down.

But that wasn't all. Ian waved his wand again, and just like a phoenix rising from the ashes, a new little phoenix was born from the ashes that had just burned. It then flew back to the desk, and after landing, it turned back into the book that had been quietly sitting on the desk, as if everything that had just happened was an illusion.

"Unbelievable..." Professor McGonagall looked at Ian with disbelief, her expression as if to say, "How dare you stay in the first year after all this?"

"Professor, that's because..." Ian felt he had to explain a little.

Before he could finish speaking, Professor McGonagall interrupted him, saying, "I know your purpose. It's not hard to understand. After all, the first and second year courses are relatively easy, and I can impart more experience and skills to them."

Then, changing the subject, she feigned anger and said, "You should have told me your true level in time, otherwise Flitwick would have boasted about your Charms class achievements in front of me no less than five times since this morning... Doesn't he realize what that has to do with him..."

Perhaps realizing it was inappropriate to say these things in front of the students, Professor McGonagall quickly stopped complaining. She then returned to the previous topic:

"Your previous choice was correct, but I have a better suggestion for you. You can apply to return to the third-year Transformation class, and as for transformation techniques and insights, I invite you to join the Transformation Club."

"The Transformation Club?" Ian admitted that he had indeed forgotten about it. Since enrolling, he felt like he had never really relaxed, to the point that he had forgotten about this famous club.

Seeing Ian's hesitation, Professor McGonagall assumed he didn't understand and explained:

"This is a private academic club I set up at school. We hold weekly discussions and study sessions on Transfiguration. There, I share more of these techniques, and you can also meet some friends who are talented in Transfiguration."

After Professor McGonagall finished speaking, she watched Ian quietly, waiting for his choice.

"Of course, it would be my honor, and I will apply to you now." He thought it was something that didn't need to be considered at all, as Professor McGonagall's achievements in Transfiguration were far beyond what ordinary wizards could match.

"That's great, I approve your application." As he spoke, he took a class schedule out of the drawer and handed it to Ian.

"This is your new timetable, Ravenclaw Transfiguration class. The class times for third grade are all listed here. Please refer to it and let me know immediately if there are any conflicts."

Seeing the other person's practiced movements, Ian realized that this person had come prepared. She suddenly wondered if Professor Flitwick had provoked her a bit too much this morning... The class schedule was already prepared.

But he dared not show it on his face. He could only take the schedule seriously and say, "Okay, Professor, I will compare it with the previous schedule after I come down to see if there are any conflicts."

Just when he thought the matter was over, Professor McGonagall seemed to remember something and added:

"You'd better subscribe to 'Transfiguration Today,' because we use the content of this weekly magazine for our discussions and learning. By the way, if possible, I'd like to subscribe for you as a reward for your outstanding achievements in Transfiguration."

Ian was suddenly moved after hearing this. To be honest, this stern professor had always been very kind.

She was clearly thinking about Ian’s background and special circumstances, and felt that a weekly subscription might make him more financially constrained. So, without hurting his pride, she offered the so-called reward.
