91. Umaru-chan's Big Crisis!
"Who is this person behind you?" Lynn asked knowingly.
Hagrid turned around, pulled Harry in front of him, and introduced him.
"Harry Potter, a first-year student this year. His situation is a bit special; Dumbledore specifically asked me to bring him to Diagon Alley to buy school supplies. Harry, this is Lynn Belloc, a second-year Slytherin wizard, and also the best student in his age group."
Lynn noticed the boy was a little reserved and took the initiative to greet him, "Hello, can I call you Harry? You can just call me Lynn."
"sure."
Harry quickly reached out and shook hands with Lynn. This was the first wizard he had met who didn't yell at him and behaved normally. Moreover, Lynn was a senior at Hogwarts, and according to Hagrid, he was the best among his classmates.
Before he even learned what kind of house Slytherin was, and before he met Draco and Snape, his first impression of Lynn was very good.
Lynn patted Hermione on the shoulder at the same time.
"I'm also here with a first-year student to do some shopping. This is my neighbor and friend, Hermione Granger. She also received her Hogwarts acceptance letter this year. You two might even be sorted into the same house."
He winked at Hermione and suddenly laughed. The little girl didn't understand what mischief he was up to, so she glared at him and then greeted Harry.
"Hello, you can call me Hermione."
"Hello, Hermione."
Hagrid nudged Harry forward, urging him on.
"Alright, we're leaving now. There's still a lot we haven't bought. If there's anything you want to talk about, we can do it at Hogwarts. Then you can see each other every day."
After they waved goodbye to Harry and Hagrid, Hermione stared intently at Lynn and questioned him.
What were you laughing at?
Lynn looked completely innocent: "I wasn't laughing at anything."
"Hmph, you're definitely plotting something again!"
"How could you think of me like that? Give me some trust, Hermione. I'm a good person."
"Pah! Liar! Villain!"
……
They spent the whole day shopping in Diagon Alley. Besides buying Hermione all her school supplies, Lynn also bought herself a new pet, an owl.
Umaru definitely can't be kept as a pet anymore. She only thinks about eating meat all day and can't do anything. Besides being cute and a mascot, Lynn treats her like a daughter.
In the future, Professor Fox will be traveling all over the world, and if he has any questions he wants to ask, he can only send a letter, so buying an owl is the perfect solution.
Hermione didn't buy a pet; her parents didn't approve of her having one. But she bought a lot of spellbooks of all kinds, and Lynn also chose one as a gift for her.
"Hogwarts: A History of the School? Is this a popular science book?" Hermione asked, looking at the thick, brick-like book Lynn had given her.
Lynn shook her head: "Maybe, because I haven't seen it either, so I'm not really sure, but I think you'll need it."
"A completely unfounded premonition."
Although she said that, she actually kept it tightly in her arms, not planning to send the book by owl mail from the bookstore, but to take it directly home.
They made it home before dark.
As soon as Lynn got home, Kira was already waiting for him at the door.
"Welcome back, little master."
Even after all these days, he still wasn't quite used to Kira's overly respectful attitude, but there was nothing he could do about it; it was the innate nature of the house-elves, and he couldn't change it.
After responding to Kira's greeting, Lynn walked through the living room and went straight into the study.
Seeing that he was carrying an owl, Umaru, who was happily lying on the sofa watching TV, suddenly felt a sense of crisis.
While Kira was busy preparing lunch in the kitchen, she secretly slipped out of the study.
Lynn was preparing to mail the letter he had written to Professor Fox with his newly bought owl when he saw a white tuft of fur lurking suspiciously at the door, peeking out cautiously.
"What are you looking at?"
Umaru clung to the door frame with both hands, peeking out with her head and pointing at Lynn's new pet.
"What is that?"
"An owl? Don't tell me you've never seen one before."
"What are you going to do with it? Make soup?"
"What else can you think of besides eating? I'm a wizard, I bought it to be a pet for sending letters, of course."
"Don't you already have me?"
Umaru questioned loudly.
Lynn looked at her strangely: "You're not a pet."
Upon hearing this, the little girl's eyes immediately filled with tears.
"Are you planning to throw me away, Lynn? Is it because I eat too much that you're kicking me out of the house? Fine, I'll only eat meat once every three days, and I'll reduce my TV time by one, no, two hours a day! I'll even help Kira with chores! Please don't throw me away! I don't want to go out and be a beggar! Waaaaah..."
As she spoke, tears streamed down her face, and she cried like a little kitten.
Seeing how upset she was, Lynn quickly stood up, patted her head, wiped away her tears, and comforted her.
"When did I say I was going to throw you away?"
"Then why did you buy it?" she asked angrily, pointing at the owl with a sob in her voice.
The owl blinked innocently, and tilted its head cutely when Umaru pointed at it.
"It's a pet, but you're not."
"Then what am I?" Umaru asked, sobbing.
Lynn was speechless. This little girl had really started to think of herself as a pet after being a hamster for so long.
"You are the hamster spy 007, the James Bond of the wizarding world, Sofia Bassack of Kira, and my cousin Umaru. Your pet is just a fake identity you used to infiltrate my life when you were a spy, not the real one."
"It's not true?" Xiaomai asked, wiping away her tears.
Lynn replied firmly, "Of course not. If I treated you like a pet, would I let you eat meat and watch TV every day? Have you forgotten how I treated you when I first started treating you like a pet?"
Bread and biscuit crumbs...
Of course, Umaru would never forget that painful time. She decisively wiped away her tears, her fluffy hair swaying back and forth with her little head.
"Then I won't be a pet anymore. Let her be one. From now on, I'll only be Lynn's cousin. You're not allowed to find another cousin and then kick me out!"
"Cousin, you can't just have something like that. Go watch your TV, stop eating your snacks, Kira will be cooking soon, it's time to eat."
Lynn cheered the little girl up and watched with a smile as she skipped and hopped back home.
