Chapter 263, Section 260: Accept Your Punishment! Lockhart
Xiaomai, holding her camera, peeked out of the classroom, estimating the time in her mind and thinking that Lynn should be arriving around this time.
Sure enough, not long after, she saw Lynn walk up the stairs to the fifth floor, accompanied by a group of fourth-year Ravenclaw wizards, mostly girls. The group surrounded him, chattering and laughing, asking questions about his studies or some other strange topics.
I'll have to tell Hermione about this.
Thinking this, Umaru immediately ducked back into the classroom and reported to George, who was always ready, "Lockhart has appeared."
George immediately perked up, pulled out his age-enhancing bullet, and jumped out of the classroom, shouting, "Fred!"
At the same time, as he shouted, Fred jumped out of the classroom behind Lynn, and they immediately saw Lynn standing out among a group of girls.
Without the slightest fear of affecting the Ravenclaw witches—if they truly showed mercy, they wouldn't be George and Fred—they raised their hands almost identically and threw the prank bombs at Lynn's head.
"Accept your punishment, Lockhart!"
Their simultaneous shouts startled the Ravenclaw wizards around Lynn, eliciting gasps of surprise.
The two prank bombs they threw flew straight toward Lynn's face.
After throwing the first bomb, George and Fred showed no sign of stopping. They didn't even check if the bomb hit Lynn's face before throwing the next one.
Lynn showed no sign of panic whatsoever. In his eyes, the two bombs flying toward him were as slow as two hydrogen balloons.
He tilted his head slightly, and the dung bomb flying from behind and the aging bomb flying from the front grazed past him on his left and right sides respectively, without even touching a single hair on his head.
But less than a second after the two bombs crossed each other, they stopped in mid-air like magnets, defying the laws of mechanics, and then flew back toward Lynn.
George and Fred each threw a second one, which came right after Lynn's and hurled it at him again.
The Weasley twins weren't particularly good students, but they were incredibly handy, a talent they seemed to have inherited from Arthur Weasley. However, they only used this talent for making little gadgets like prank props.
Lynn could see why the dung bombs and aging bombs could be targeted and guided: George and his crew had inscribed the opposite of the Summoning Charm on the bombs, making them roughly equivalent to half an alchemical item.
Alchemy is a very advanced subject in the magical world, even more difficult to learn than Potions. Hogwarts does not offer courses on it.
It is said that the reason is that a suitable teacher could not be found, and the wizards in the British magical community did not have much interest in alchemy, so the atmosphere was not as strong as that at Beauxbatons School of Witchcraft and Wizardry.
This shows just how talented the Weasley brothers were in this area. They didn't receive any systematic training at Hogwarts, yet they were able to create a semi-finished alchemical item.
The Fly Away Spell is the opposite of the Fly Away Spell. It can make an object fly to a target you specify. This is a normal fourth-grade subject, but attaching the effect of the spell to an object is quite difficult.
Just as the bombs that were flying back and forth, plus the two bombs that the Weasley brothers threw next, a total of four bombs were about to hit Lynn's face, he calmly pointed his wand lightly.
"Curse Stops Instantly"
The flying spell effect that had been applied to the four bombs was immediately erased.
The universal antidote is normally incapable of erasing the magical effects attached to alchemical items, but the bombs made by the Weasley brothers were, after all, unfinished products. The flying spell was not well integrated with the bombs, so they could only be considered half-baked alchemical items, which is why Lynn's antidote worked.
After the flying spell on the bombs was removed, they were about to fall to the ground and detonate again when Lynn gently waved his wand. This time, he didn't utter a spell, and all the bombs silently floated in mid-air.
A perfect, silent levitation spell.
The young Ravenclaw wizards around Lynn were stunned by his reaction.
George and Fred were naturally unwilling to let their plan be thwarted so easily. They stubbornly kept pulling out dung bombs and aging bombs from their pockets and throwing them at Lynn, but without exception, Lynn caught them all with a dispelling spell and a levitation spell.
Even after they had thrown all ten of their prank bombs, not a single one could penetrate within half a meter of Lynn.
"Is this the punishment you've given me, Mr. Weasleys?" Lynn leaned against the classroom wall, smiling as he turned to look at the dumbfounded George and Fred. "I think it might suit you better."
George and Fred realized something was wrong, and Fred shouted, "Run!" The next moment, he and George ran for their lives in opposite directions.
However, Lynn had already recited the incantation.
"The bomb flew away."
The ten prank bombs hovering in front of him, like soldiers under command, immediately split into two groups and flew towards George and Fred.
The bombs flew as fast as a tennis ball being smashed. George and Fred, of course, didn't have Lynn's reaction speed. Before they could run two meters forward, they were hit in the back of the head by their respective bombs.
Lynn's allocation was very reasonable; they were each hit by two different types of bombs.
The dung bombs were very effective; large patches of filth exploded on their bodies, and an unbearable stench filled the corridor.
The aging bullet worked its intended effect; George and Fred's hair turned completely white, and large tufts of white beard sprouted on their chins. Their height remained unchanged, but their skin aged drastically, their faces were full of wrinkles and age spots, making them look no different from normal old men.
Meanwhile, Umaru, who was hiding in the classroom, held her camera up to her face, and the shutter clicked away, faithfully recording the scene.
It was just a few minutes before class started, and a number of young wizards had gathered in the hallway. They had all witnessed this scene, and many were amused by the Weasley brothers' comical antics.
