Having already agreed, Lynn certainly wouldn't be perfunctory. He then conducted a simple test on Behildr's spell level.
The result surprised Lynn. Although the little girl's spellcasting level was low and the effect was mediocre, her technique was exceptionally skilled and her recitation of the spell was very standard. The reason for her low level was most likely that her physical magic power was weak, and it had nothing to do with her spellcasting technique.
Even Lynn's skill in using spells couldn't compare to hers, because all his spells were learned quickly through talent. After all, he had only been exposed to magic for less than three years. He relied on his talent and magical power to raise the level of spells to far beyond that of ordinary adult wizards, but in fact, he was not very skilled in terms of technique and spells.
Of course, this doesn't mean that Behirde's talent surpasses Lynn's. She has been exposed to far fewer spells than Lynn has learned, but the fact that she can master a single spell to such an extent is enough to show her hard work.
The young wizards at Hogwarts don't have much academic pressure. After completing the assignments given by their professors, they basically play around. Even in Ravenclaw, where Basild is, they are only more studious than students in other houses, which doesn't mean they are always diligent.
To master a spell to the level of Behild, one must practice using it at least every day.
Based on her diligence, Lynn felt that this child had a bright future.
After getting a general idea of her learning progress, Lynn pointed out some of her shortcomings and then taught her a smoke spell that she had planned to start teaching in the second half of the first year. She explained the key points of the spell and then let her go back to practice on her own. She would check her learning progress next week to decide on the next learning plan.
"Goodbye, Professor Lockhart." Behild politely thanked Lynn and left the office.
After she left, Lynn was in a very good mood and continued to study his Patronus Charm. Giving students extra help would take up his own time studying spells, but isn't that the joy of an educator?
Seeing his eager eyes satisfied, Lynn felt extremely pleased, and even the effects of practicing the Guardian Charm were much stronger than before.
On Sunday evening, Lynn called Umaru to his office, handed her the camera, and secretly gave her some instructions. Umaru immediately looked at him with disdain.
"You're so mean, Lynn."
Lynn felt no shame whatsoever and said nonchalantly, "Consider it a lesson for those two. They talked badly about me behind my back. I've taught you how to use this camera. Just take all the pictures you need to take, and don't give me away."
Umaru may despise Lynn, but she's also quite excited about this. She's never been exactly a well-behaved person, but unlike the Weasley twins, her biggest interest isn't in playing pranks.
"No problem, don't worry!"
Early Monday morning, Umaru met the Weasley twins outside the Great Hall with her camera.
"Is your camera ready? I heard from my dad that this thing needs to be loaded with film or something, did you forget to take that out?" George carefully examined the camera hanging in front of Umaru.
Umaru has been impersonating Lynn for a month now, and she's no longer as flawed as she was at the beginning. She's learned Lynn's usual mannerisms and way of speaking quite well.
"Don't worry, I'm usually the only one using this camera at home. I wouldn't say it's amazing, but I'm definitely skilled at it, so there won't be any problems."
She made the same gesture as yesterday when she gave the guarantee.
Fred and George were very satisfied. They exchanged a glance and then each opened their pockets to show Umaru the various bombs they had prepared.
"Five dung bombs and five aging bombs should be enough to make that show-off Lockhart suffer. I can already picture him looking pathetic," Fred said smugly.
Ha, I can already picture you looking utterly pathetic.
Of course, Umaru didn't reveal her true feelings; she followed the instructions Lynn had given her.
"I've already found out everything. Lockhart teaches that show-off. He'll be in fourth-year Ravenclaw and Slytherin classes this morning. The fifth-floor hallway and the corner of the stairs are his usual route. We can ambush him there."
Yes, he can ambush you there.
George and Fred patted her on the shoulder excitedly.
"Our plan is perfect. It will be the peak time for people to walk around before class. There will definitely be a lot of people in the corridors who will see our feat. Students from all four colleges will praise us!" Fred excitedly looked forward to the bright future with George.
In reality, even if their plan succeeds, not many young wizards at Hogwarts will boast about their actions.
At most, it would only cause a stir in Gryffindor, since Lynn's reputation among the students was quite high. It's just that he usually assigned a lot of homework, but the young wizards in Ravenclaw actually thought it was a good thing. Hufflepuff, who were just sitting by, didn't care. Only Slytherin and Gryffindor had some opinions.
There was no such phenomenon as the Weasley brothers imagined, that "the world has suffered under Lockhart for too long."
Moreover, their plan had absolutely no chance of succeeding.
After making sure that nothing had been prepared, they headed toward the designated ambush location.
Hogwarts Castle is so big that it can't possibly have only one staircase, but Lynn's office happens to be right next to one of the staircases, so he usually goes up and down the stairs to class. This is how the Weasley brothers were convinced that they could corner Lynn in this spot.
George and Fred hid in two empty classrooms at the corner of the stairs and corridor, respectively, while Umaru hid with George and peeked out to scout ahead for them.
"Do you think you can even hit Lockhart if you just throw it like that?"
Umaru was very worried about their accuracy; she felt that even if Lynn didn't know their plan beforehand, they wouldn't be able to succeed.
"Missed it? You underestimate us." George boasted, "Our modified dung bombs and aging bombs can track targets automatically. We used this technology on a snowball and successfully hit Professor Quirrell last semester. Although he seemed far inferior to that show-off Lockhart, a surprise attack from both sides was definitely not something Lockhart could have avoided!"
Umaru nodded in agreement. George thought she was echoing what he was saying, but what Umaru was actually thinking was something else entirely.
The flag was planted at just the right spot.
