Chapter 197, Section 194: My name is Lynn Bellok, and I am a wizard.
The Dursley family at No. 4 Privet Drive.
The Dursleys, along with their son Dudley, were rehearsing how they would welcome guests when they arrived.
Vernon Dursley was the head of the household and also the manager of Groning Company, which specialized in manufacturing drilling rigs.
Whether they can satisfy this guest today will determine a large drilling rig order for Vernon's company.
Harry Potter, the savior of the wizarding world, is his adopted nephew.
Harry was watching their performance from the dinner table, observing the Dursleys feeding Dudley like a pig. He couldn't help but wonder if Dudley would grow up to be even fatter than his father.
Of course, Vernon didn't forget him even at this time.
"You know what you're supposed to do in a minute, right?" he said menacingly.
Having lived in this family for over ten years, Harry was used to his attitude and said expressionlessly.
"I stayed in my bedroom, making no sound, pretending I wasn't home."
"Good! You better not cause me any trouble today!"
Harry didn't really care whether Vernon wanted him to meet guests or not. What really annoyed him were his friends Ron and Hermione, who hadn't sent him a single letter since the holidays started, even though it was his birthday today.
Harry left the table amidst Vernon's shouts.
The weather outside was sunny and bright. He walked across the lawn, sat on a garden bench, and began to sing softly in his throat.
"Happy birthday to me...Happy birthday to me..."
He may be known as the savior of the magical world, but no one remembers that today is his birthday.
No, his pig-like cousin Dudley remembers, because he's using it to mock himself now.
……
Lynn was trying to soothe the owl that was waving its wings at him pitifully, performing how that wretched house-elf had stolen the letter from it.
"I understand, I understand. It's not your fault. It doesn't matter that the letter didn't reach that family. Even if they had received it, they might not have welcomed me."
Lynn herself had forgotten that Harry had an even more unpleasant summer at his aunt's house.
Not only did he have to endure the mistreatment from his aunt's family, but the stubborn house-elf Dobby also hijacked all the letters sent to him.
This caused Harry, who had been enjoying friendship and happiness at Hogwarts, to return to his previous miserable life.
However, that was indeed the case. Even if the letter did reach the Dursleys, it might not necessarily be a good thing. Given how much they disliked wizards, they certainly wouldn't give Lynn a friendly look.
Harry's aunts, the Dursleys, despised everything about wizards.
This isn't hard to understand. Aside from the fact that Harry's aunt Petunia was jealous because her sister could go to Hogwarts while she was still a Muggle, Harry's father's unique personality meant that they wouldn't have been very kind to the Dursleys while they were alive.
Because of their hatred for the wizarding world, they naturally disliked everything about it, which indirectly led to their hostile attitude towards their own nephew, Harry.
But none of these are reasons for their mistreatment of Harry.
Lynn had no intention of standing up for Harry Potter or teaching them a lesson when he brought Harry out.
These were all Harry's household chores. His only responsibility was to complete the tasks assigned to him by Dumbledore, such as picking Harry up and taking him to the Weasleys. That was his job.
Whether or not to retaliate is up to Harry himself. For a wizard, even with the constraints of the Ministry of Magic, dealing with a few Muggles is a very simple matter.
At ten o'clock that morning, Kira brought Lynn to Privet Road using Apparition.
He didn't bring Hermione along, since he was there on business. If he had brought Hermione, he would have definitely brought Umaru along too. It would be impolite to be a host at someone's house and act like the whole family is on a spring outing.
Kira didn't go with him, but he would reappear beside Lynn when Lynn called for him.
Following the address Dumbledore gave him, Lynn quickly found number 4 Privet Drive.
By this time, the Dursleys' house was in complete disarray.
Dobby ruined the reception that Vernon had arranged and then pinned the blame on Harry.
The Ministry of Magic immediately sent Harry a warning letter, while Vernon's guests were frightened away because they were afraid of owls.
Although he lost a big business deal, Vernon also discovered Harry's secret!
"Oh, so you didn't tell us we can't use magic outside of school!" He blinked his malicious little eyes. "You forgot to say, didn't you?"
Just as he was about to pounce on Harry like a bulldog, the Dursleys' doorbell rang again.
"It might be Mr. Mason back!" Aunt Penny exclaimed excitedly.
Uncle Vernon had also considered this possibility. His face flushed, he pointed at the stairs and roared at the stunned Harry, "Get back to your room! This is your last chance. You'd better pray everything goes well, or I'll make sure you don't eat for three days!"
Harry walked upstairs stiffly like a puppet, while Aunt Petunia's face broke into a chrysanthemum-like smile once again. Vernon and Dudley stood side by side with smiles on their faces as they opened the door.
"Mr. Mason, just sent..."
Vernon's explanation abruptly stopped, because standing outside the door was not Mr. Mason, but a boy about the same age as Dudley.
He was dressed in ordinary summer casual clothes, and his gray-gold hair was not neatly combed, but he looked very comfortable. He asked politely.
"Excuse me, is this the Dursleys' house?"
When Lynn entered the room and saw Vernon and Dudley standing side by side like big and little pigs, he knew he hadn't gone to the wrong door.
Lynn's good looks became a plus, and even though they were filled with disappointment, Aunt Penny and Vernon did not speak ill of him.
"Yes, child, are you Dudley's classmate? Are you here to play with him?"
Aunt Penny and Vernon both looked at their son Dudley, because Lynn was dressed like any normal boy you'd see on the street, and they couldn't associate him with a wizard at all.
Dudley shook his head blankly; he had no recollection of Lynn at all.
"I apologize for this intrusion. There should have been an owl to deliver a message to you, but something went wrong. Let me introduce myself. My name is Lynn Belloc, and I am also a wizard. I attend Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry and am a classmate of your nephew Harry Potter."
Aunt Penny and Vernon's expressions immediately changed.
