Chapter 144, Section 141: Tom's Capture Plan (Part Two) (Please Subscribe!)

"So we went through all this trouble just to catch a blue cat?"

Ian watched this cartoon when he was a child and couldn't help but complain.

Cedric had never watched Tom and Jerry; he had never even watched television. The only person he remembered was a man named Tom.

"Could it be the owner of the Leaky Cauldron?"

Lynn immediately felt that the atmosphere had been completely ruined.

He sat back down listlessly: "Let's put aside the question of who Tom is for now, and talk about other parts of the plan, such as who our target is."

What are the effects of the modified Soul Seal Spell? Cedric and Ian, having practiced for so long, certainly knew. They had always believed that Lynn was preparing to deal with a powerful ghost.

The answer Lynn gave them, however, took them by surprise.

"Professor Quirrell!"

"To be precise, it's a spirit," Lynn explained to them. "We are indeed dealing with Quirrell, but Quirrell is just a side issue. What we really need to control is the spirit attached to him."

"That spirit is called Tom?" Ian guessed the answer.

Lynn stated his full name with certainty.

Tom Riddell.

Cedric and Ian were unfamiliar with the name, but Lynn then revealed his other name.

"His name in the wizarding world is—Voldemort."

Cedric suddenly felt a chill run down his spine, and in the next instant, he jumped up from the ground.

"You mean the mysterious person!"

Ian had never heard of Tom Riddle or Voldemort, but having been in the wizarding world for almost two years, he had heard of the title "Mysterious Man".

"Is that the terrorist who's been dead for ten years?"

Cedric's strong reaction was within Lynn's expectations. His parents were both pure-bloods, and his father was a high-ranking official in the British Ministry of Magic, so he naturally knew about Voldemort's past.

Ian's description was quite interesting, and Lynn nodded with a smile, saying, "That's right, he was the former terrorist of the wizarding world, Tom Riddle, Voldemort, the Man of Darkness."

Ian immediately understood Lynn's meaning.

"You mean, he hasn't died after ten years, or rather, he's not completely dead, but has become a ghost-like spirit, currently possessing Professor Quirrell, and the reason we're practicing the modified Soul Seal Spell is to capture him?"

Lynn snapped his fingers.

"Why?" Cedric followed up with a question.

"Because it wasn't him who wanted to teach, but Voldemort. I once heard a secret from Professor Snape: after graduating from Hogwarts, Voldemort wanted to stay on as a Defense Against the Dark Arts professor, but for some reason, Professor Dumbledore refused him."

"Then why don't you tell the professor about this and let them handle it? After all, we're still lower-year students," Cedric asked, puzzled.

Lynn had already prepared answers to these questions before he even revealed who they were going to arrest.

He never intended to hide Voldemort's identity from Cedric and Ian, because no matter how bad Voldemort's current condition was, or how well they were prepared, they could not deny that it was an extremely dangerous situation.

Even if Voldemort hasn't recovered his strength and can't do anything to them right now, what if they ultimately fail?

Voldemort will surely rise again one day, and when that day comes, he will desperately try to find out the true identities of Lynn and the other two, and then launch a crazy attack and revenge against them.

Therefore, Lynn had to make it clear to them that this involved their own safety, and that the final choice of whether or not to join was in their own hands.

Now, he needs to answer Cedric's question clearly first.
