Chapter 142, Section 140: Tom's Capture Plan

Chapter 143, Section 140: Tom's Capture Plan (Part 1)

"Lynn!"

Hermione exclaimed in surprise, and Lynn quickly gestured for her to be quiet, as Professor McGonagall was still not far away.

"Bell, Bellocch," Harry stammered, looking at Norbert being carried by Lynn.

Lynn helped them put Norber back into the wooden box, locked the door, and signaled that they could go about their business.

Hermione had by then recovered from her surprise and looked Lynn up and down with a suspicious gaze.

Why are you here?

"I didn't expect the little girl to be so alert in this kind of thing," Lin En coughed twice and said.

"I just came out to look at the moon tonight because I had nothing to do, and I never expected to catch a dragon here. What a coincidence, right? Hahaha."

Hermione became more and more suspicious as she looked at him.

"real?"

"Of course it's true. Don't you guys have other things to do? I've had enough of looking at the moon, so I'll head back first," Lynn said with a laugh.

Harry pulled Hermione along, saying, "Charlie's friends should have arrived by now; we can't delay any longer."

With no other option, Hermione had to leave Lynn alone for the time being and work with Harry to carry Norbert up to the rooftop.

Lynn pretended to leave, hid in a corner, transformed into a crow, and flew to the rooftop.

After watching Norbert being taken away, and Harry and Hermione being caught by Filch as soon as they stepped off the roof, Lynn finally went back to sleep, satisfied.

Everything unfolded according to the original plot, and even when some minor mishaps occurred, Lynn managed to turn things around.

All he can do now is complete the final preparations before the planned day arrives.

Early the next morning.

On the Ravenclaw table.

Cedric was watching in amazement as the score hourglass changed.

Overnight, Slytherin lost 20 points and Gryffindor lost 150 points.

"What's going on?" Cedric had no idea what had happened.

Lynn explained the situation to him.

"Last night, Professor McGonagall caught a Slytherin student and two Gryffindor students out for a night stroll, and naturally, they were given points and placed in detention."

"Not two," Ian corrected Lynn's mistake. "It's three, including Neville Longbottom of Gryffindor."

Lynn doesn't remember exactly how many people were involved, but Neville probably came out later.

"I think I missed something." Lynn suddenly coughed lightly. "Ahem, gentlemen, we've almost finished practicing our improved version of the Soul Sealing Spell, and the time is ripe, so today I can probably tell you why we need to practice this spell."

Cedric and Ian exchanged a glance, then looked at Lynn.

Lynn gave a mysterious smile.

"The things I ordered should arrive around noon today. I'll let you know then."

Cedric and Ian both looked rather dark.

"You were only planning to tell us at noon, so why are you saying it now?"

"I'm trying to whet your appetite a little, hey hey hey... I haven't finished eating yet!"

Cedric and Ian each grabbed one of Lynn's arms and dragged him away.

"We also want to whet your appetite."

……

Hermione found Lynn right after the morning Transfiguration class ended.

She stared at Lynn with a serious expression.

"Tell me! Were you following me yesterday?"

Lynn wanted to tease her a little, saying that he was actually the one following Harry, and she was just doing it incidentally.

But after considering the consequences, he swallowed those words.

"I was just worried about you. Look, you were caught by Filch as soon as I left yesterday."

Lynn finally spoke something sensible, which greatly improved Hermione's mood, and the corners of her mouth unconsciously turned up slightly.

She put her hands in the pockets of her robe, lowered her head, and let her gaze wander over the ground.

"You could have just told me to come with you. Harry and Ron wouldn't mind (if they do, I'll smash their heads in!)."

Lynn ruffled Hermione's hair and said casually.

"Act with you guys? How can I enjoy the fun of tracking you then? It's much more satisfying to follow behind and secretly watch you get thrashed."

Hermione clenched her fists.

Yeah, why did she do something so silly just now?

Why do people think Lynn will finally understand?

Hermione was so angry she wanted to punch Lynn on the head, but then she remembered the last time she bit him, and he didn't seem to feel any pain; in fact, she felt a bit of discomfort.

If I were to throw a punch now, wouldn't that just be asking for trouble?

Hermione got angrier and angrier, and the angrier she got, the more she wanted to hit Lynn. The more she couldn't hit her, the angrier she got. She was caught in a vicious cycle and was about to turn herself into a balloon from anger!

Just as she was about to run away crying in anger, Lynn suddenly reached out to her face, tucked a strand of hair behind her ear, and then looked at the stunned Hermione with a smile.

"You look so cute when you're angry."

Hermione's face turned bright red instantly.

She slapped Lynn's hand away, said "You're so annoying!" and ran off.

Unfortunately, she didn't hear the rest of Lynn's sentence.

"It's as cute as a monkey's bottom."

At noon, another large flock of owls flew into the auditorium.

Two owls carried the package together and landed in front of Lynn and his companions.

"The food has arrived. Have you all eaten?"

Looking at the package that had just been delivered, Cedric and Ian lost their appetite even though they weren't full yet.

The three of them left the auditorium and went to the Black Lake, where they often had their meals together.

Lynn opened the package in front of them.

The package contained three black robes and some miscellaneous small items.

Cedric picked up the black robe: "What's it for now?"

Lynn explained to him, "These are some special robes I ordered from Diagon Alley. Once you put on this robe and hat, no one will be able to see your face, not even from the front."

"What about this one?"

Ian picked up a small gadget that looked like a button.

"I bought this from the Bouncing & Playing Magical Joke Shop. It's similar to a voice changer in the Muggle world, but you don't need to stick it to your throat. You can just carry it in your pocket and change your voice anytime. It works for men, women, young and old."

Looking at the pile of things on the ground, Cedric and Ian still didn't understand what Lynn was trying to do. They stared at him blankly, waiting for him to explain.

Lynn looked at them with a serious expression and said solemnly.

"Gentlemen, we are preparing to carry out a great plan. Before we tell you the details of the plan, you need to know its name first."

Lynn stood before them, his body blocking the sunlight and casting them into shadow. A gentle breeze ruffled the hair on his forehead as he spoke, each word distinct and deliberate.

"It's called the Tom Capture Project!"

My roommate is having a birthday party today, and the last chapter will be around 11 PM.
