110. Dividing the fruit
Lynn pondered for a moment.
"Approximately how strong?"
At this moment, before Professor Fox had finished Lynn's butterbeer, he waved to the waiter and ordered two more glasses.
He placed the three butterbeers side by side.
"Your original intention was to have multiple wizards use spells simultaneously, with one main caster guiding and coordinating them, while ensuring the spells could be cast instantly and maximizing their effects. Frankly, it's a brilliant idea. However, while it's feasible, the conditions for achieving it are extremely demanding. To give an analogy, these three glasses are the three spellcasting entities you imagined in your letter, and the butterbeer inside is the released Soul-Sealing Spell. If we were to choose one as the main caster, we'd choose the middle one. The main caster is crucial; the magic of the other two individuals must be guided and coordinated by him. This means that besides mastering his own magic, he also needs the ability to control the magic of the other two individuals, like pouring the two glasses of butterbeer into this one glass at the same time."
Professor Fox demonstrated the device to Lynn.
"You see, because the main force itself doesn't have enough capacity, the butterbeer overflows from the glass. If we think of the glass as a wizard, can you imagine what that would look like?"
Lynn stared at the overflowing butterbeer and frowned.
"Wizards can be overwhelmed by excessive power?"
Professor Fox waved his hand.
"It's not that exaggerated. A wizard's body isn't sealed off. The result is simply that excess power disappears. Ultimately, the spell's effect is only slightly stronger than the spell used by the main force itself. It doesn't produce the exponential amplification effect you imagined in your letter."
Lynn looked at the three glasses of butterbeer.
"So what exactly are the requirements for these main wizards? Is it magic power?"
Professor Fox shook his head.
"It's not magic, it must be the physical attributes of a wizard."
"Professor, what did you say?"
Lynn was stunned; he even called out Professor Fox by his original name.
Professor Fox was somewhat surprised by Lynn's overreaction.
"The capacity of the cup represents the wizard's physical condition."
"But this isn't magical at all!"
Professor Fox stared at him, dumbfounded.
"Why isn't the magic working? Didn't you notice? When you use magic frequently, your body feels weak, and you can only continue casting spells after resting. This is because your body can't take it and needs relief."
Lynn thought about it and realized that, just as Professor Fox had said, there were no restrictions on his use of magic. Before his physique points were added up, practicing magic too much would indeed be tiring, but after he became a giant in human skin, there were no more limits on the number of times he could use magic.
Like a tireless spellcasting machine.
But shouldn't the blue bar in a normal wizarding game represent mental energy? How come it's become physical energy here?
You're a wizard, not a warrior!
However, Lynn was only surprised, because physical issues were not a problem for him at all.
"So, as long as the main character's physical condition is sufficient, this modification idea for the Soul Sealing Curse can succeed?" Lynn asked expectantly, hoping to hear a positive answer from Professor Fox.
Professor Fox pondered for a moment.
"The requirements are very high. For example, if three adult wizards were to use this modified version of the Soul Seal Spell, then the physical fitness of the main force would have to be at least at Hagrid's level. But Hagrid is not suitable to be the main force because of his special characteristics."
Why?
Professor Fox didn't explain it very clearly.
"This concerns other people's privacy, so I can't tell you the specific reasons. The requirements for the main force are too demanding. In addition to having extremely high physical fitness, they also need a high amount of magic power. I have never seen a wizard who possesses both of these in all my years of life."
Lynn's eyes lit up, and the corners of her mouth turned up. She was just about to slam her fist on the table and say, "How come I've never seen you before? Aren't I you?"
He has a physical constitution of 6 and a magic power of 9, both of which far exceed those of a normal wizard. Isn't such a main force designed specifically for him?
He said it with great pride.
"Any other requirements, Mr. Edward? Please state them all at once."
Professor Fox was deep in thought and didn't pay much attention to Lynn's unusual behavior.
"And another thing? There's also the requirement that all the wizards involved in improving the Soul Sealing Spell must be proficient in the spell, and that they must use it in unison with perfect coordination, without any mistakes. Well, that's basically all the requirements."
He said with a smile.
"Your idea for improving this spell is quite good, and it can be applied to other spells as well. However, it's still too difficult to achieve the theoretical maximum increase in strength. But even if your physical condition and magical power are not up to par, the spell itself will still be significantly enhanced after wasting most of your power. With your current level of magical power, the Soul Seal spell used by the three junior wizards together should be able to control Peeves."
Professor Fox's understanding of Lynn's magical abilities was still at the level he couldn't fully utilize even in his first year, let alone in the form of the Divine Edge. He never imagined that in just six months, Lynn's abilities would triple.
Now, he can completely control Pipi Ghost with the Soul Sealing Spell all by himself.
Lynn and Professor Fox talked at the Pighead Bar until nearly 11 p.m., during which they perfected the modified Soul-Sealing Spell before ending their meeting.
Professor Fox is staying at the Pig's Head Bar tonight, and Lynn has to rush back to the castle; he has classes to attend tomorrow.
Lynn arrived at Honeydukes just before it closed, retrieved the candy he had deposited, and then returned to Hogwarts through the secret passage of the Screaming Shack.
He was lucky today; Filch should have already gone to sleep, and he returned to his dormitory without any problems.
After washing up, Lynn lay in bed unable to sleep, her mind filled with thoughts of improving the Soul Sealing Curse.
He lay there blankly for half an hour, then got out of bed, took out all the candies he had bought that day, and started distributing them.
Hermione, Cedric, and Ian each received one.
