The mastermind behind Hogwarts

Chapter 743 The Origin of Peeves' Tragedy

Chapter 743 The Origin of Peeves' Tragedy

"Let them fight it out," Moriarty said deliberately. "I don't think they care about Hogwarts at all, they only care about themselves."

"Let them perish along with Hogwarts, Professor Dumbledore. Let's go."

Moriarty said this and turned to leave. Professor Dumbledore also left, and the two of them turned around with sly smiles on their faces.

"What did you say?" Madam Grey shrieked, "Hogwarts destroyed? Explain yourself!"

Lady Grey flew toward Moriarty, blocking his path: "I contributed to the Battle of Hogwarts, you can't exclude me."

Without Lady Grey's command, Blood Man Barrow stopped swinging his axe and longsword, and Peeves instantly distanced himself from Barrow, coldly observing Moriarty.

Dumbledore noticed this; keeping quiet was simply unbelievable for Peeves.

When it comes to mischief, even James, Sirius, and the Weasleys combined are no match for Peeves.

Moriarty looked at Mrs. Gray and said, "Yes, madam, you are qualified to participate, but it seems you have your own things to do."

"Of course!" A strange, solemn light shone on Ms. Gray's face as she glanced disdainfully at Peeves. "I'm avenging my mother!"

"Peeves killed your mother—Royna Ravenclaw?" Moriarty seemed to have just swallowed a bombshell, his surprised gaze shifting between Peeves and Lady Grey. "Are you sure?"

"It wasn't a direct cause of death," Ms. Gray said in a low voice, "My great mother exhausted herself protecting him! That's why she fell ill, and then... died!"

Upon hearing the word "protect," Moriarty and Dumbledore exchanged a thoughtful glance.

"Not only my mother," Ms. Gray suddenly said, "but also your ancestors!"

"Ancestor Salazar?" Moriarty was genuinely surprised.

After Salazar left Hogwarts, he captured Ingo and built Slytherin Castle. How could he have died protecting Peeves?

"Were Lady Helga Hufflepuff and Mr. Godric Gryffindor also killed while protecting Peeves?" Dumbledore inquired.

"That's right!" Ms. Gray said forcefully, glaring at Peeves again. "He's the source of this tragedy!"

"Peeves, do you have any explanation?" Dumbledore looked at Peeves, who remained remarkably calm. "I'm listening, Professor. If you want me to explain, please leave."

Before everything was clear, Dumbledore certainly wouldn't believe Peeves's words. He said seriously, "Ms. Grey, could you explain this to me?"

"You know, that was a terrible accusation you just made. It not only concerns Peeves, but it also affects the reputation of your great mother and the other three leaders!"

Ms. Gray snorted, "I know what I said. Want me to explain? Fine!"

"But please leave. This is a secret only those with the bloodline of the four leaders can know—it was agreed upon by my mother and the other three principals!"

Dumbledore was at a loss. "I'm not a descendant of the Four Greats. Fine, I'll withdraw."

The old man silently flew away, returning to the castle to handle war preparations.

"Can you talk now?" Moriarty looked coldly at Ms. Grey, still not entirely believing Peeves and Ms. Grey's words.

It was really strange that the ghosts started fighting without any reason or cause.

"It all started with this—" Ms. Grey glared at Peeves, "His arrival excited the Four Greats and made them deeply uneasy."

"The four giants began their research into powerful magical elements, but then that light appeared, and the four giants, in order to protect him—"

Ms. Grey couldn't continue, and Moriarty could see that the female ghost was struggling to control her anger.

Blood Man Barrow stood behind Lady Grey like a knight, as if he would rush up and stab Peeves into pieces at her command.

"The light's desire for him was so intense that it unleashed unparalleled power, causing both the four giants to suffer heavy losses, but the four giants had planned everything."

"A magic tower was built beneath the Black Lake, where the four giants created an air of mystery, diverting the light's attention there."

"But the four giants used their power to..." Mrs. Gray looked at Peeves, "turning him into Peeves who became one with the castle! Oh, my great mother was weakened because of it, as were the other three headmasters."

"And your ancestor," Madam Grey said to Moriarty, "left behind a basilisk, then left Hogwarts, and disappeared without a trace. He died eventually too!"

"This is all his sin! He is the indirect murderer of the Big Four! Isn't that reason enough for me to take revenge on him?" Ms. Gray said proudly.

Although Ms. Gray spoke haltingly and included some subjective opinions, Moriarty understood her.

To protect another sacred artifact of light elemental magic, the four giants transformed it into a Pikachu!

In order to avoid arousing the suspicion of the Light, the four giants built the Magic Tower, sacrificing the Gryffindor sword and even their own lives to ensure that the Light believed that another magical artifact of the Light element was hidden inside the Magic Tower!

That led to what happened later.

Pipi Ghost remained silent, seemingly acquiescing.

Moriarty sighed. "I have another question, Ms. Grey. Why didn't you say these things to me on my first day at Hogwarts?"

"Also, Barrow isn't a member of the Four Giants, so how does he know these things?"

Ms. Gray fell silent, and Peeves' eerie voice rang out:

"Ms. Grey knows what I just said to you because it was me who told her!"

Mischievous Ghost's voice was no longer as shrill as it had been during his previous pranks; he continued in a low, helpless tone:

"So? Ms. Gray couldn't tell you that on your first day of school."

"As for Blood Man Barrow?" Pee-Pee glared at Barrow speechlessly: "I told Ms. Gray what I said, and Ms. Gray immediately told Barrow and ordered him to kill me!"

Peeves' body was flashing with light, and Moriarty could see his inner thoughts in him: I've disliked Barrow for a long time. I usually avoid Barrow, but do you really think I, Peeves, am afraid of you!

Moriarty believed that if it weren't for the Big Four creating Peeves, Peeves would have killed Barrow long ago.

As for Blood Man Barrow, he's an old sycophant.

It makes perfect sense that Ms. Grey was directing the killings.

"So," Moriarty looked at Peeves, "you admit that you are another sacred relic of light elemental magic? Do you have anything to add to what Lady Gray said?"

"I admit it," Pikachu confessed, "Yes, I admit it! And I have nothing more to add."

"I was created by the four great masters based on the holy relics of light magic. I transcend life and death, I am one with Hogwarts, and I represent an indestructible chaotic spirit."

"As for the magical power of the light element? I think I only know one thing: traveling to the future!"

"The rest, you can explore for yourself, Moriarty."

After Peeves finished speaking, he flew to Moriarty's side. The light emanating from him was warm, making Moriarty feel very close to him.

"It feels like Hogwarts," Moriarty gently touched the light. "You are the last remaining authority of Hogwarts. Through you, the four leaders have firmly bound the Light Elemental Magic Relic to Hogwarts."

"It's a pity I can't transform back into a light elemental magic relic, otherwise I could help you identify that light elemental magic relic," Pipi Ghost whispered.

"It's alright, you've seen my strength—you've been observing me all along, otherwise you wouldn't have shown yourself." Moriarty spoke to Peeves as if he were a pet.

Mischievous Ghost nodded. "I've been disguised for thousands of years, just to wait for you."

"Don't say that, it makes me sound like I have some kind of mission," Moriarty shook his head nonchalantly. "I have one last question."

"Where are you from?"
