The mastermind behind Hogwarts
Chapter 611 The Battle to Defend Hogwarts
Chapter 611 The Battle to Defend Hogwarts
The densely packed human figures, intermingling with the shadows of the Forbidden Forest trees, sent chills down Soldaya's spine.
Behind the surging elf army, towering giants charged forward, while werewolves with gleaming crimson eyes and frantically writhing goblins attacked from all directions.
Sordaya's expression changed repeatedly. The Fairy King was leading dark and neutral creatures to attack Hogwarts!
"Protect the Gods!"
Soldaya chanted the Patronus Charm, and a small purple snake leaped from the tip of his staff and flew towards Hogwarts Castle.
"I can only buy myself one minute."
"Make sure you deliver the message!"
Soldaya turned his head and stared intently at the fairy army.
"Super-strong armor protects you!"
"Flames are raging!"
"Fainted and collapsed—three shots in quick succession!"
Soldaya first erected a protective shield for himself, then chanted a spell, setting off a sea of fire. In the Forbidden Forest, restricting the movement of the fairy army was far more effective than eliminating a few enemies.
Finally, Soldaya retreated while launching attacks, seizing every opportunity to knock out several fairies.
The fairy army, the giant army, the werewolf army, and the goblin army were thrown into chaos.
Sordaya realized that the four creatures were not very intelligent and seemed determined to rush into Hogwarts, completely indifferent to their surroundings and the deaths of their companions.
But he forgot that there was also a Fairy King!
The Fairy King slowly flew into the air, coldly surveying the riot in the Forbidden Forest.
"My descendants," the Fairy King's face glowed with an eerie golden light as he raised his scepter, its demonic light shimmering, "follow me in a teleportation!"
The scepter burst forth with a dazzling light.
With a "whoosh".
The four armies, along with the Fairy King, vanished.
"What?"
Soldaya stared in astonishment at the deserted Forbidden Forest. So many fairies had vanished right before his eyes.
"call out--"
A sonic boom rang out, and Sordaya turned around in horror to find the Fairy King appearing in mid-air less than 30 feet in front of Hogwarts Castle!
The four armies were only a step away from the gates of Hogwarts!
"Damn it!" Soldaya ran wildly toward the castle without saying a word.
At the same moment, the Fairy King pointed his scepter at Hogwarts: "Attack!"
"boom!"
The giant took a step forward, and his fist, the size of a small car, slammed into the castle wall.
The goblins burrowed into the ground and dug frantically like madmen, trying to burrow underground into Hogwarts.
One werewolf after another rammed into the doors and windows of Hogwarts.
The fairy army unleashed wave after wave of spells the wizards couldn't name at the castle, like a million cannonballs bombarding it.
"No!"
Seeing this scene after scene, Soldaya roared in despair.
However, Soldaya soon saw a vast protective shield rise around Hogwarts.
No matter the giant's fists, the goblin's sneak attacks, the fairy's spells, or the werewolf's physical assault, none could break through the defenses.
The halos of light that swept across the protective shield were extremely conspicuous in the night sky.
"Great, the guardian deity made it in time." Soldaya's voice was hoarse, but his eyes were unusually bright.
"The school is surrounded now, I have to go find Mr. Moriarty." Soldaya mounted his flying broom and flew away.
A loud voice rang out from the Ravenclaw Tower, the tallest building in Hogwarts.
"Stone blocks, move out! Protect the castle!"
Professor McGonagall stood atop the tower, wand held high, her face radiating excitement and a sense of glory.
"I've wanted to recite this incantation for a long time."
Professor McGonagall held her wand and spoke to Hermione beside her, a slight smile playing on her lips.
All the statues and armor in the corridors, corners, and stairwells of Hogwarts jumped down from their scaffolds, and a series of loud crashing sounds echoed from upstairs and downstairs.
With a clatter and shouts, a swarm of moving statues burst out of Hogwarts, some smaller, some larger than life-size, and some animals. The clanging armor of the statues brandished swords and chained maces.
If armor and statues could be considered normal, then the appearance of the giant stone statues embedded in the walls of Hogwarts immediately dwarfed even the giants.
"boom!"
"boom!"
"boom!"
The stone pillar transformed into a warrior, driving towards the giant like a tank, its stone spears and lances relentlessly stabbing at the giant.
The giant, being only flesh and blood, was quickly wounded by the stone pillar's relentless attacks. But the giant went berserk, punching the stone pillar again and again, causing rubble to fall from its body.
"Neither the stone-pier warriors nor the armored knights can hold them off for long."
Hermione pointed this out upon seeing the battle.
However, there was no worry on her face. From the moment the four houses cooperated, she knew that her brother Moriarty had returned, so he must also know about the situation at Hogwarts.
Hermione was convinced that Moriarty was on his way back, and that she just needed to keep watch over Hogwarts for a short while.
"Minerva, we're here."
The Weasleys' voices came from behind Professor McGonagall and Hermione, and members of the Order of the Phoenix strode over.
"Did Albus give any instructions?" Professor McGonagall asked nervously.
"No, let's improvise," Arthur replied.
"All we have to do now is defend Hogwarts," Moody shouted. "Dumbledore, Grindelwald, and Moriarty are all on their way back. Defending Hogwarts is the only thing we can do until they arrive."
Moody was an old Auror, and his seniority and fighting prowess convinced the wizards present.
Professor McGonagall promptly revealed the situation in the castle: "Professor Snape and Professor Flitwick, along with the Hogwarts pure-blood army, are clearing out the basilisk from the castle..."
"Wait a minute," Moody interrupted, "the Basilisk has entered Hogwarts?"
"Yes, the Basilisk of Ralpo has the ability to change size at will," Hermione said, looking at the adults. "This information was provided by Miss Astoria."
"So, the only remaining manpower is us?" Lu Ping frowned. Compared to the Fairy King's army, their numbers were barely enough to fill a gap in his teeth.
Moody stared at the battlefield outside the city. The stone pillars could no longer hold out. Once the goblin army stormed into the castle, Hogwarts would be doomed.
Professor McGonagall frowned as well. She was fearless in the face of being told to go down and fight, but there were so many young wizards in the castle behind her.
Unlike Gump, the Fairy King at least wouldn't actively kill a wizard, while no one trusts the Fairy's reputation.
"I've selected a group of magical creatures to help guard the castle," Marcus said, stepping forward, slightly injured and panting.
"How is the basilisk?" Professor McGonagall asked immediately.
"With Slytherin's Basilisk Shiva around, it's only a matter of time before we wipe them out," Marcus replied, panting. "But all our men are tied up."
"The Immortal Organization hasn't revealed all its forces yet."
These words startled everyone.
With such a large army besieging the city, are there still hidden forces?
"Don't be afraid," Marcus swallowed, a glint of malice flashing in his eyes. "The sir estimates that that bastard Ye Jingyu will be arriving soon, but it doesn't matter. Professor Lockhart's elite Aurors from various countries have most likely already arrived in London!"
"In addition, the master arranged two new forces—the vampires and the elves of Avalon."
"The real battle is yet to come, but for now we must defend Hogwarts."
"I propose that the students participate in the war."
Hermione walked up to the adults, her voice firm and calm.
"Hogwarts is not only the professors' home, it's our home too."
Hermione looked at Professor McGonagall and Moody, "Let's go. Moriarty and Professor Dumbledore will be back soon. Maybe we can hold them off for a little while?"
Looking into Hermione's sincere eyes, Professor McGonagall's brows relaxed. "Hermione, you really should be a Gryffindor."
"Hey," Hermione laughed, "I'll go and mobilize the students—I'm sure they'll volunteer without me having to tell them."
"Perhaps I could try to pull out the Gryffindor sword?"
Hermione said this and quickly left, two excited blushes rising on her face.
Professor McGonagall looked at the members of the Order of the Phoenix and said solemnly, "Call Flitwick and Snape back. They and I will each lead our combat teams to the three tallest towers—Ravenclaw Tower, Astronomy Tower, and Gryffindor Tower—where the views are expansive, the locations advantageous, and it's easy to cast spells."
"Remus," she said to Lupin, "Arthur," he gestured to Mr. Weasley sitting at the Gryffindor table, "you two, along with the students Hermione organized, will guard the entrances to the school."
"Professor Sprout is on standby on the playground, ready to provide support at any time."
"Moody, Kingsley, you two lead two squads into battle!"
"Protect yourselves, protect Hogwarts!"
"Hogwarts absolutely cannot fall tonight!"
