Chapter 165 Testing the New Broom
Chapter 165 Testing the New Broom
Draco looked restrained and nervous under the gaze of a group of young wizards. He hated the way they looked at him; Malfoy didn't need their sympathy!
But Draco, who is only 9 years old this year, has not yet grown up and looks like a little radish.
Soldaya walked over to him, grinned, and ruffled his head, making a mess of his light golden hair that had been combed back.
"Little Draco, do you want to ride the new broomstick too?" Soldaya adopted a senior's tone, earnestly instructing him, "But you can't, your mother will go crazy if something happens to you."
"Get out of here, Saul! I'll settle this with you later. And let me tell you, don't treat me like a child!"
Draco glared at Soldaya, pulled his hand away, and smoothed his hair, letting it continue to lie flat against his scalp.
He straightened his appearance and walked politely toward Moriarty.
"Sir," he said, "I have brought you a gift from the Malfoy family." Draco presented the wizard's robe to Moriarty.
Upon seeing this, the surrounding young wizards gathered around. Marcus looked at the wizard robe and said, "A wizard robe, even if it's the latest style from the Elegant Wizarding Clothing Store. But when did the Malfoy family fall from grace? No, right? A wizard robe as a thank-you gift is rather meager."
His stern gaze fell on Draco's face. As Moriarty's power grew, more and more wizards would send him gifts in the future.
Marcus felt great about refusing some trivial gifts on behalf of his husband, as it was the awareness and duty of a follower.
Draco quickly explained, "I misused my words. This wizard's robe was a gift from my mother to Mr. Moriarty. My mother said she was thanking him for coming to our house to help us out of a predicament."
Was it a gift from Narcissa?
It's probably for Draco's sake.
Moriarty raised an eyebrow, preparing to speak, but heard Lilith let out a sneer.
"A gift from Mrs. Malfoy?"
Lilith walked up to Draco, glanced down at the wizard's robe, and said, "Well, it's a men's robe!"
She crossed her arms, and her expression suddenly turned serious.
"I remember that day I was also at Malfoy Manor—I was the one who stood up for the foreign wizards! I argued with them forcefully!"
Draco glanced at Lilith with some trepidation, not understanding why she was angry.
"Sir..." He looked at Moriarty with hope.
"I'll accept the robe. Now you'd better stand back, Nymph is coming down soon."
Moriarty glanced at Draco, then looked up at the sky, his gaze fixed on a red shadow, following its every movement.
Marcus tactfully accepted the wizard's robe, and Lilith huffed angrily as she walked over to Moriarty.
"We all went to Malfoy Manor," Lilith said, tossing a strand of hair and placing her hands on her hips. "Why didn't Mrs. Malfoy give me a present?"
"What do you want to say?" Moriarty looked at her. They were very close, and Moriarty could see her milky white collarbone, delicate and exquisite.
"Can't you tell?" Lilith was furious. How could this guy be so stupid?
"Oh, I see," Moriarty chuckled. "You're angry because you didn't get the wizard's robe. You're such a girl."
"It's not the wizard's robe—the wizard's robe isn't the point!" Lilith was almost going crazy, then suddenly she realized something, her eyes widening: "You did this on purpose again, didn't you? How annoying you are!"
"Who told you to keep overthinking things?" Moriarty rolled his eyes at her and said seriously, "It's just a robe, why are you still going on and on? Get out of the way, Tonks is about to land, I need to get enough data, and I need to proofread it tonight."
Moriarty bypassed her and walked toward Tonks, who was swooping down.
"Fine!" Lilith said petulantly, "You think this is a small matter? Great, you can continue developing your flying broom, I won't waste the great inventor's time!"
She passed Moriarty, but instead of leaving the stadium, she found a spot to secretly watch him.
At that moment, Tonks landed. Her hair was fiery red, and her new broom was also red. She hugged the broom to her chest and excitedly shouted:
"It's about three times faster than a regular Nimbus 1700!"
The steering performance is exceptional; I can barely feel the arc of the turn!
If there's any shortcoming, it's in terms of stability.
"Stability? I've noted that down." Moriarty nodded.
Three days ago, after creating a set of one hundred wands with Nicolas Flamel, he began developing a new type of broom.
After some discussion, they decided to prioritize increasing the speed of the new brooms before adding safety measures.
Today's test proved that their approach was correct.
"Continue the test, this time with someone else, Charlie?"
Moriarty looked toward Gryffindor, where Charlie, surrounded by a group of lion cubs, excitedly mounted his new broom and sped off.
"Wow, that's fast!" Charlie screamed, almost falling over. He quickly clamped the broom between his legs and bent down.
After circling in the air a few times, Charlie gradually got used to it.
"I swear to Merlin, I've never ridden a broom like this before! I feel like I could catch up with the sun!"
Charlie flew past the lion cubs.
"I'm going to demonstrate a world-class ball skill: the Bokov feint!"
Wood shouted immediately, "Captain, don't reveal our new tactics!"
Unfortunately, it was too late. Charlie, who was in high spirits, demonstrated the so-called "luring the enemy" technique.
"Ah~ Ah, look, Bokov's feint," Tonks said, twirling his hair around and around with his fingers. "Now everyone knows Gryffindor has practiced a new formation."
Everyone laughed. Moriarty gestured to the lion cubs, "Percy, Wood! You two fly up and hit Charlie with the walking ball as many times as you can. I want to see if he can dodge them."
Charlie, who was in the air, heard this and shouted, "They're supposed to be my teammates, but I feel like you're directing them more easily than I am!"
"Focus on flying!" Moriarty casually told the young wizards on the field. "You guys take off too, my test needs some obstacles."
Jericho was the first to take off, followed by a large group of students including Marcus, Keith, and Larpo, soaring into the sky like a fighter jet squadron taking off from an aircraft carrier.
Draco had never seen anything like it before. His eyes gleamed, and he murmured in amazement, "What a magnificent sight!"
A seductive whisper reached his ear: "You want to be one of them, don't you?"
"Mmm," Draco answered subconsciously, then realized what was happening and looked to his side, where he saw Soldaya.
"What the hell are you doing! Why don't you fly up there?"
Soldaya's eyes gleamed with ambition: "More than taking off and soaring into the sky, I want to be the one who commands you to fly."
Draco followed his gaze and saw Moriarty and Tonks standing together, looking up at Charlie as he dodged the attacks of the ball and the obstruction of the Gryffindor players, occasionally offering a few comments.
Draco understood, and he chuckled: "Impossible ideas can only come true in dreams! I advise you to go to sleep."
Soldaya glared at Draco: "Didn't I tell you that Slytherin students undergo a baptism?"
"What?"
"A baptism of venomous tongues!" Soldaya said mercilessly. "Every single person in Slytherin, the Headmaster, the teachers, President Leon, the prefects of each year, the ordinary students—if you talk to them and don't accept a few venomous remarks, you won't become friends with Slytherin."
You have to accept their quirky sarcasm; it's become part of the new college culture, and perhaps next year, the prefect will tell the freshmen this when they take them into the dungeons.
Draco grinned. "I love the sarcastic culture!"
"Is that so?" Soldaya began his venomous attack, and Draco retaliated without backing down.
The commotion of the two little snakes disturbed Moriarty, so he took a few steps forward with Tonks, who whispered something in his ear.
"The new broom is shock-resistant, just as good as the soft cushions in the Ottoman house. With the old brooms, my bottom would shake if I sat on them for a long time."
Moriarty glanced at Tonks's buttocks—perky, full, and fertile…
Tonks noticed his gaze, blushed, and changed her hair to the same gray as Moriarty's.
Seeing this from afar, Lilith stomped her foot in anger, turned around, and left for good this time.
But Moriarty didn't know that. He blinked and said, "Nymph, you've reminded me! I've got a great idea!"
